The skip the line tour was recommended to us and it did not disappoint. Our guide Lucia was very knowledgeable about St Peters Basilica and the art and sculptures contained in it. Lucia also had great information about the works in the various rooms in the vatican museums.
Best tip we got was pay for the elevator if you are going to the top of the dome of the basilica! It is €10 and means that you only need to climb 330 stairs instead of nearly 900. The climb is not for the faint hearted however the view at the top is absolutely spectacular.
One thing to be aware of is that during the tour when you leave St Peters Basilica, if you want to return to wander through the amazing church again you will have to queue to go through the security barrier again. We did this and although the queue looked large, we only had to wait about ten minutes. Definitely worth it although I'm not sure it would be that quick at the peak of summer tourist season.
I would definitely recommend this tour, it was enjoyable and added to the experience.

Excellent tour! My husband and I visited on 2nd May 2022. Marco (our guide) was very knowledgeable on the Vatican and made the trip enjoyable for all. Firstly we visited the basilica, where we were told about the history as well as various statues and artworks. We then headed to the Vatican museums and the sistine Chapel where we learned more about the various pieces on display and more detail on Michaelangelo's famous fresco painting of the ceiling. The tour didn't include going under the Basilica and viewing the cypts of the popes, which would have been great - but access to St. Peter's is free, so you could go back again after visiting the museums and view this yourself. All round fab tour, would definitely recommend for couples, solo visiters and families alike.

This was the first tour we did during our time in Rome, and it got our trip off to an amazing start. Everything about this tour was easy, from finding the meeting point, to entering the sites. Everything was organised for us, and it meant we got to simply enjoy it. We had Lucia as our guide, and we couldn't fault her in any way. She was friendly, even taking the time to go round the group and ask everyone their name and where they were from. Lucia clearly has lots of knowledge which she was able to communicate effectively to the group. Out of the 2 of us that took this tour, 1 of us had previously visited Rome and the attractions on this tour, while the other hadn't. However, we both were able to learn lots, with Lucia pointing out very intricate details which I had not previously been shown. She was able to do this without boring us or overloading us with information. She also gave us lots of opportunities for photos, and explained everything as she did it. Even showing us how we would return to the sites, and where to go from the ending point. Lucia was able to give information about Rome in general too, even offering restaurant recommendations to a member of the group. She kept a good pace, and allowed us to enjoy our time in Rome. This tour is also great value for money, with it being the only one I could find which includes St Peter's Basilica alongside the Vatican Museums. I would recommend this tour to anyone, and I would definitely book this again should I return to Rome.

Would I recommend this tour? Perhaps but truly not sure how to rate it as I was disappointed for many reasons.
We were on time and Marco was our Guide, he was polit and nice but mostly had conversation with the younger couple from California as he had some interest in California and been there so rest of us basically just were following him quietly with no interaction with him for the first 20/30 minutes.
Skip-The-Line MMMM I would not say is completely true as we had to line up to go Inside (Vatican)
Just like everyone else who was in line so there was no privilege given there.
Marco was very Knowledgeable but for lack of better words he was very distracted, Group was all over the place and he would just walk away with out paying attention if we are following him or even did we all see him changing direction and do believe me the flag that he was holding up gets lost in that crowed. There was time that we had to run to get back to the group and yet he had no Idea we were falling behind due to the cowed blocking us from getting through.
He only gave 5 Minutes washroom break when he was getting entry ticket for Sistine Chapel and as we all know how lady’s bathroom all mostly crowed so there goes that idea.
He also did not accompany us for Sistine chapel as he said is useless to continue the with the tour as he cannot talk when we are going through the chapel, Truly the quiet part of the tour is actually only a few minutes but he insisted that we go on our own as he wanted to go back and return the radios… which again was another disappointment so really should I recommend this Tour? We did learn a lot and I thank him for that.

Robert was our guide - This was a great tour!! Some of the reviews don’t understand that you can’t skip the security line, you only skip the line to get into Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel. We booked Friday morning 8.45 tour. Get yourself there early, approx 8:00-8:15 to get yourself into the first group, then go get a coffee & pastry while you wait. We only queued about 30 minutes for security checks to get into St Peters Basilica, the line moves really quickly! We were straight into the Vatican museums, just a short wait for security. All was absolutely fine!! Be prepared to be pushed a little as it is VERY busy and small corridors. It is 100% worth the money on this, I have walked away knowing so much history and fact nuggets than I would just taking myself around. When you walk passed the Vatican museums queue, you will see how worth it this is! Thank you SO much Robert!

Booked this for the 12th April. We arrived at the meeting point early, and then went and grabbed a coffee. We’d recommend this as you do find that a lot of people arrive in a narrow street, with taxi’s dropping people off. Our guide, Marco, got us started right on time. Can’t fault him he was engaging and exceptionally well informed. We couldn’t skip the line due to current COVID restrictions, no one could. Although I think the Vatican opened the access up about an hour after our tour started! Be prepared for it to be heaving with tourists. It can become difficult to move in the Vatican museums and you do rush through these areas. However the tour was very good, well worth it and Marco was brilliant. We would definitely recommend this tour.

Our tour guide Bob took us calmly through what would have been a chaotic visit without him. Having the knowledge of the queuing and entry systems ensured that we got smoothly into each of the attractions without any problems.
We were very pleased to have booked in advance as turning up on the day doesn’t necessarily mean tickets are available.
Bob had excellent and interesting knowledge of St Peter’s Basilica, The Vatican Museums and Yge Sistine Chapel and his stories and facts were a pleasure to listen to.
I would absolutely recommend this tour with this company.

Even mid morning the queue to get into the Vatican City is huge, so beating these queues saves a huge amount of time. Starting in the square the tour proceeded through the magnificent St.Peters then onto the museum a few minutes walk away. So much to see here that you only get a taste. The tour exits through the Sistine Chapel. Plenty of good information from our guide via headphones. Highly recommended.

Marco was our guide and it was a fabulous 3 hrs
The Basilica was amazing and Marcos knowledge was fascinating to us all as a group and at the same time respectful to the Vatican rules in the Sisteenth Chapel especially.
Cannot recommend these tours highly enough, we went in the Basilica 3 years ago without a guide and missed out on so much of the history behind the many statues, tombs and mosaics.
Thanks Marco for a great experience👏👏👏

Really enjoyed the tour by guide Marco. In the St. Peter's Basilica he gave useful background explanations at all things that we saw and connected it with other highlights in Rome. You learn things that are not written in any other tour guide book.

Due to time limitations it is not possible to visit the crypts or the roof, but if you would like to do that, you can return another time because entrance to the basilica is free (although the queue can be long). Everything is well understandable due to the headset that you receive at entrance of the basilica, although that the very beginning there was some frequency disturbance for a few minutes. Marco also took nice pictures for those who wanted and he answers any question that you might have.

Entry at the Vatican museums went smoothly as well, where it is possible to have a small toilet break. Also here the audio is good. Nevertheless, please be aware that it is really, really crowded. The highlights were explained and after the tour finishes one can still stay with the same ticket.
