Amazing experience, like travelling back in time. Very good concept. Hardly recommend to visit this place to everyone who is interested in history of rome and its looks days back

Welcome to Rome offers a unique and immersive introduction to the Eternal City's history. The highlight is a 30-minute film projected onto a detailed topographical model of Rome, tracing its evolution from ancient times to today. Pros: The main film is captivating and emotionally powerful. I nearly teared up watching Rome's grand history unfold. Excellent context for first-time visitors to Rome. Friendly and accommodating staff - they even let us in early! The whole experience takes about an hour, perfect for a pre-sightseeing orientation. Cons: Ticket price is a bit steep (18 euros for adults). Smaller 3D exhibits of landmarks like St. Peter's Basilica and the Roman Forum weren't as engaging as the main film. My 8-year-old lost interest in these smaller displays. Tips: Visit early in your trip to Rome - it really enhances appreciation of the sites you'll see later. The main film has audio guides in multiple languages - make sure to get one in your preferred language. Plan to spend about an hour here. If visiting with kids, be prepared that they might get restless during the smaller exhibits. The topographical model and film beautifully illustrate how Rome was once the heart of the world. It's a poignant reminder of the transient nature of power and glory, showing how even the mightiest empires fade with time. While not perfect, Welcome to Rome provides valuable historical context that will enrich your exploration of the city. It's more than just learning facts - it's about feeling the weight of Rome's incredible history.

Very informative and interesting. Great way to learn the history of Rome. It was well presented and we enjoyed it. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Great experience on our first evening in Rome. Amazing way to get the history of Rome and the relevance of the places you are seeing and walking past.

Small museum simply consists of one 25 minute film covering the history of Rome, plus another 5 or 6 mini dioramas of roman buildings enhanced with projections. The visuals are cool but the content is mostly about the building process or identifying the buildings, but little about people's actual lives. The overview film was okay. Not really worth the price tag I don't think.

Fabulous introduction to the history, architecture, geology, and geography of Rome. Not to be missed. Excellent value for anyone probably 10 and up.

Small models with holograms totally underwhelming. The film (grand finale) was ok but in essence a film about the history of Rome. Very expensive for a one hour experience some of which was spent waiting for a availability of exhibits and the cinema to fill up. Mythos Mozart (a similar attraction) in Vienna blows this out of the water !! The only thing on our trip we regret wasting the time and money on.

Terrible experience. It is like a garage (excess...) with 4 separate by curtains rooms with small videos on Rome monuments. Then a 10 minutes or something cinema video (which is the best of all). But buying tickets is very disorganized. We had to wait for our time slot and then a 15 minutes delay. So more than 1 hour waiting for this waist of time. I wouldn't reccomend to anyone. It is a disaster and an expensive one. Doesn't worth the money.

This presents several 3D models of ancient architecture with overlays that give a good idea of how things developed. the second half is a video which is also interesting giving a brief history of Rome. It is a wonderful way to give kids a basic understanding of what they will be visiting - so has to be done in the beginning of your trip. We booked with our hotel because the site wanted way too much personal info which we found bizarre.

Enjoyed the cinema section - the effects and information were good. The other exhibits weren’t as interesting - use of holograms were clever to showcase how some of the sites would have originally looked. However the information contained too much historical jargon which affected our enjoyment. I would say you need some understanding of Rome prior to visiting otherwise the information is too complex. Toilet standards were not acceptable - lack of loo roll and no soap in the ladies’ so clearly toilet checks weren’t being undertaken.

We were not impressed. Probably because we prepared for the Rome trip and didn't learned anything new here.

This a short thought informative history of the city and well worth visiting before you head off to the sights as it gives you some insights into what you are seeing on the ground

This attraction was our best chosen at Rome! In 1 hour we got historic and colture information about Rome. After this visit, everywhere at Rome is more interesting!

Welcome To Rome is a wonderful multimedia experience - that allows its viewers to fully comprehend Rome’s great history - and its astonishing monuments! A must visit for all those one visiting the city!
