Breathtaking. It’s history. All I can say. We bought tickets on the official site. Visited Colosseum first then Roman Forum. Didn’t have audio guides but used Rick Steve’s Pocket Guide to Rome. Excellent commentary and it was super informative for Roman Forum, even kids got it.

First time doing a guided tour as I like history but I didn’t think I was a museum kind of person, but we thoroughly enjoyed the experience, Laura Antonucci our tour guide had truly exceptional knowledge from start to finish, and told us story after story to make the tour so fascinating! We are really glad we opted for a guided tour and I really think it’s the only way I will visit popular historical sites in future. Thank you Laura. Brilliant! As for the colosseum. It’s a must see. Outside is great, but if you really want to understand the history and get some prime photo opportunities then pay the extra for the tour (which I also think is really good value). Grazie

The visit was amazing. It was quite busy at this date, but our guide was so amazing! She explained everything in a fluently Portuguese - she is Brazilian as well and makes our group reach every detail from The Chapel Sistini

A fun and well-informed tour. The guide really knew her stuff and was passionate about the material. I especially liked being guided through the very hectic Vatican so I didn't have to worry about going the right way and doing the right thing. Would highly recommend!

Everything about this experience was EXCELLENT. I visited with 14 friends and family. Booking with Rome Private Guides was easy. They set up the tour I requested quickly, responded promptly to emails, and even arranged for a last minute change without a problem. Our tour guide, Chiara Ferralis, was friendly, very knowledgable and easy to understand. She was great at answering questions and made the whole experience enjoyable from start to finish. The tour was everything I hoped it would be. Everyone in the group had a great time, and our group included a number of people, including me, who had visited Rome many times before. Chaira's detailed knowledge and insights regarding what we were seeing significantly enriched our visit.

Great tour with Laura Antonucci! Very informative and just the right amount of information and walking - very fun! Loved having pictures of each site to help imagine how things were versus how they are now. Enjoyed with the whole family and learned a lot.

Meeting starting location was easily accessible. Antonio was a fantastic guide and was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about maximizing our experience! We learned so much and felt lucky to have him as our tour guide!

The guide was definitely the best one I’ve ever had so far, she really knew he’s stuff and loved to keep track of the group so we all could enjoy it, it’s definitely worth it.

The guided tour of the Vatican museums was fantastic! Antonio was excellent. He was knowledgable and patient with some members in our tour group that day. He knows many of the Vatican staff. His explanation of the Sistine chapel helped make the day perfect. The tour went a little over because a member of the group lost their ticket at the beginning however every bit of the tour was worthwhile. Highly recommend.

Fantastic tour!! The guide was knowledgeable and engaging, and kept things moving at a good pace - once or twice a little brisk, but there were a lot of things to cover! Teenager loved it. Be prepared to climb steep steps at the Colosseum and the Palatine ruins, but totally worth the effort. The audio system could use an upgrade, but once we got used to the radio receivers, it was ok.

This was a good tour and the guide (Marcus) was very enthusiastic and professional but his Italian accent was very thick and difficult to understand. The downside also was that the audio devices provided, particularly the headphones were very poor. As a result I could only hear half of what the guide was saying. I would recommend bringing your own corded headphones or purchasing a jack plug Bluetooth adapter so you can use your own non corded headphones.

To be honest I didn’t overly enjoy this tour. It was a mix of a few things that just made the experience mediocre. The first thing was that our group was quite large (21) now most groups doing the coliseum tour are this size so ok, 2nd the device which we were listening to the tour guide on was slightly distorted, that along with the guides strong accent meant I was probably only getting about 40% of the information. (I had done a tour in the Vatican the day before and listened to everything on a similar device and everything was crystal clear). When I took the ear piece out and went close to the guide I could hear, but in our group everyone was pushing up to the front, so half way through I just gave up. The tour guide did seem knowledgeable and the coliseum is amazing so I’d say still go but maybe try going with a smaller group, especially if you are interested in all the information the tour guide has.

Laura was great! However, it did not include the vatican or sistine chapel. Laura was very knowledgeable and patient with the group. She answered all of our questions throughout the tour and even after.
