Depart from Rome to reach Orvieto, an ancient Etruscan city, which stands on an enormous tufaceous platform. You will visit St. Patrick well, built by Pope Clement VII in 1529 to ensure a water supply to the city in the event of a siege and, afterwards, you will reach the bright Piazza del Duomo to admire one of the most grandiose medieval architectural achievements in Italy, the Cathedral of S. Maria Assunta, with its enchanting facade. Civita di Bagnoregio, called the dying City, is a charming village clinging to a spur of tufaceous rock dominating the beautiful valley of the badlands. Linked to the world only by a long and narrow bridge, it holds a tuft of medieval houses and a population of very few families. You will have time for lunch ( at your own expense ) during the day.

Exhausting bucket list experience to do only once
While the private tour was worth the money in its opportunity to skip lines and add ease, our three hour tour was still exhausting. The heat plus three hours of walking without sitting down was not for the faint of heart. We had lunch after and drank five glasses of water each in silence. The opportunities to see the Sistine chapel and my favorite, The Last Supper, were overshadowed by crowds and announcements to not take pictures. The spiritual vibe was lost in the popularity of the site, unfortunately. I can’t imagine what it is like during a more popular time of the year or a festival, honestly. Went to mass the next day in a convent and had a much more meaningful time. This is one of those, do it once in your lifetime experiences and suffer through it, in my opinion.

          Private Tour
Driver was timely and friendly, providing a well air conditioned van! The tour guide was very knowledgeable and I appreciated her expertise! She went out of her way to accommodate. The only part that was difficult was that we skipped the gift shop at the Vatican museum and instead ushered into a private gift shop. It felt like there was a hand shake with friends, so I feel we missed seeing other options at the Vatican for gifts. Otherwise, well worth it!

Perfect drive to and tour of the Vatican!
We had a wonderful driver who picked us up right on time and then we met up with our guide Sonya who guided us around the museum, the Sistine chapel and the main church all while explaining the most important pieces of art. It way wonderful not being in a big group because it was packed! I did have to pay extra to get back to our hotel so that would be nice for them to include in the future!!

A wonderful experience with our grandson.
This is the third time in the last 5 years we have taken a different grandson, all under 10, on a private tour of the Vatican. Our guide Marlene was superb and it takes a special guide to captivate a 9 year old. Her enthusiasm for all she was describing was a big part of that. We learned new things as well and thoroughly enjoyed our 3 hours with her.

Private family tour of the Vatican
Silvia was our tour guide for the Vatican and she did a spectacular job describing everything to me and my family (husband + 2 kids) during our tour. We did a 3hr long tour and she showed us everything, plus extra! She was kind, smart, funny and knowledgeable; everything you would want when paying for a private tour. Would recommend 10 out of 10! Thank you Silvia & Trip Advisor for a fantastic and memorable experience!

Florence to Pisa - private tour
We did the private tour to Pisa from Florence - it was delightful. We were picked up at the door of our apartment and whisked to Pisa in luxury vehicle. Our driver was excellent only to be surpassed by our guide. He was super knowledgeable and really made history of Pisa come alive. We also had a wonderful lunch before heading back to Florence. This was a great trip

          Ask for Pasqalino!
Our tour leader, Pasqalino, needs to be honoured for his excellence in knowledge, delivery of a massive amount of information, and caring attitude towards his guests. On a stifling hot day he spoke from the moment we started to the moment we finished, answering all questions , offering a very diverse range of knowledge in history, science, architecture, art, culture and the rest. What an amazing man.

Private tour of Colosseum and Forum
We did private tour (not with hotel pickup). Booked fairly last minute as another tour which we had booked cancelled at last minute. Pickup went smoothly and guide was knowledgeable. The tour of the Colosseum was good. The tour of the forum was difficult due to the heat and having two somewhat disinterested teenagers. (Although the guide did her best to try and engage them)

          Early morning Vatican Tour
Great tour with an enthusiastic host. We enjoyed the early morning Vatican tour. Crowds were minimal and we were able to enjoy the Vatican museums,Sistine Chapel and St. Peter’s Basilica without the massive crowds. It was well worth the cost to have this experience with my family. Incredible is an understatement. Amazing. Words don’t do this tour justice. Just do it.

          Gladiators and Ancient Rome
We had a great time with our private guide at the Colosseum and the Forum. She was very knowledgeable and informative. She kept my teenage children engaged the entire time. It was a rainy day but in no way impacted our experience. The pick up at our Air BnB was appreciated. It was a 5 star experience.

Day trip to Sorento, Positano & Amalf from Rome
Peter from Exploro tours was just amazing. There was no way we could have covered Sorento, Positano and Amalfi in a day with the 3 hour or so car ride from Rome. We had initially booked a rental car and after doing some research about the Amalfi drive, decided to opt for this private tour. Probably the best decision! Peter with his Mercedes’ made us feel special. He took us to the market place in Sorento where we shopped , had coffee and then our next stop was Positano, where we got couple hours to shop, eat and hit the beach! He always had good suggestions on where to eat, what to do etc. Then the last stop was Amalfi. Not to forget The various stops at vantage points to take pics. We enjoyed the view while sitting in a comfy AC car as it was also a hot day topping 90 deg F Kids and I slept on the way to and on the way back once we were on the freeway. Was hassle free and enjoyable . We did not have to worry about driving in a foreign country , worry about parking, where to shop etc. highly recommend this trip with Exploro tours via TripAdvisor . Great trip and Peter was a gentleman and we had a great day and will always remember this amazing day trip!

          Outstanding experience with Exploro Tours
We arranged a number of tours throughout Italy with the team at Exploro Tours including Rome, Pompeii, Pisa, Cinque Terre, Florence and Venice. With our family of 6 they helped with setting up drivers and guides when we needed them and were very responsive when we needed to change plans. We have been all over Europe and Asia and experienced many companies, Exploro ranks one of the very best. They can help you arrange any tour to just about anywhere in Italy!

If you had to choose one tour for your single day in Rome, choose this!
I'm so glad I chose this tour! I had a day long layover in Rome, which I'd never been to, and I wanted to get the most out the few hours I had at my disposal. There were 6 other people in the tour with ne, but it felt really personal and it was fun to interact with other tourists and share experiences and opinions. The guide was extremely prepared for any questions any of us had, and we got to see the most important spots and landmarks in Rome, all in a day's work. I'm so happy and in love with this city I'm definitely coming back for a longer stay and will absolutely book another tour with these guys! Bravissimi!
