    Outstanding tour
Gabe (Gabriele) was an outstanding guide, he really brought the Forum, Ancient Rome and the coliseum to life with his stories, knowledge and limitless passion - no to mention his humour. Would definitely recommend this tour

    Excellent tour
I booked a private tour for the pantheon and was lucky enough to have Mario as my guy this morning. We spent about 60 minutes together, exploring the exterior of the pantheon and the courtyard around it, the inside of the pantheon, and a walk in the area over to Piazza Navona. The guide was excellent. He showed me things that other people wouldn’t see as they were covered or behind awnings in the courtyard inside he was able to share with me so much about the history of the pantheon and it’s transition over to the pope, then the guided tour over to the piazza was an unexpected but wonderful gift. I highly recommend this tour and hope that you are lucky enough to get the same guide that I did.

Really good value for money and better than expected
The tour was even better than I thought it would be. Our guide was really engaging and told us lots of fantastic information about both locations. He even pointed out unique paintings tiles and little windows that other people walked straight past. We took our time at both locations With about two hours in the Colosseum and an hour in the Roman form. He was even thoughtful enough to take it slow on the stairs and uphill areas as there was some of us that had injuries. Highly recommend this tour and thank you so much.

    Fantastic Paletine, Forum and Coloseum
The tour was very informative and well run. The Paletine, Forum and the underground tour of the Coloseum were amazing. The ‘underground tour’ also included the ‘Arena’ a private section of the second tier, and then access to the museum. In short, it include everywhere, so I would recollect paying this to get the full experience of all areas. Our guides were great, Elisa for the Paletine and the Forum and the Coloseum guide. The highlights for us were the size and scale of the Paletine and the Forum (not to be missed), and the underground part of the Coloseum which was very well done.

    A very fun experience!
This is the first time I booked a guided tour and I must say what an experience! Our Tour guide Gabe was the best and I highly recommend him! He is very knowledgeable about the History and he made the tour so much fun with his dad jokes and witty comments. We learned a lot from this tour. It is so worth it to book a guided tour and learn more about the History of Rome.

Arrived at meeting point and it was disorganized. A young man took us across the street where we jumped over a small barrier and then waited 15 min for a existing tour to meet us at which point they dropped 3 people and told them to give us their radios for us to plug our ear plugs into. From there it was off to the races trying to keep up with the guide as she hustled through security and initial area of tour. After this and once in the floor of the arena things got better and the guide had great knowledge of the history. We’ve been on many tours and for the price we paid (over 150 for 2 people) I’d have gone for the cheaper 58 dollar tour.

    Interesting but also disappointing
Our first guide was very good and very informative. They made it very interesting. This was for the tour of the Roman Forum. Unfortunately the 2nd part of our tour for the Coliseum was very disappointing. I appreciate there was a language barrier but we couldn't hear or understand most of the tour. A shame as we didn't learn much and we really wanted to know more about it.

    Nice tour
Organized tour and good handoff to different tour guides. Great access to all features of the coliseum in a small group so we could take lots of pictures. They were at the meeting point early so there was no stress wondering if we were at the right place.

    Exceeded expectations
We booked this tour last minute through a third party operator (Viatour) and were a little skeptical whether it would meet expectations, having done a similar, but private, tour a few years ago. This one was even better. Our guide, Nicoletta, spoke excellent English and really knew her stuff. She was very personable, and made the history relatable to modern day. She had a gentle sense of humour and helped make Ancient Rome come alive. The 3 hours flew by. The audio component worked really well. (Nicoletta wore a small microphone attached to her jacket and her voice was transmitted to each guest through a single earpiece.) It didn’t crackle etc, and you could still hear her clearly if you lagged behind the group to get a better look at something. Combining both the Forum and Colosseum with a guided tour is definitely the way to go. We gained a much better insight through Nicoletta’s commentary and were able to ask lots of questions. Skipping the queue was a bonus. We did the ‘Arena Inclusion’ as it was something I wanted to do since our last visit. Back then we just watched people milling around the reconstructed arena platform from a distance. The Arena gives a different perspective, a deeper understanding of the mechanics of how gladiators etc were brought up on stage, and it was as good as I imagined it would be. Our interest was held for the duration of the tour, and our 18 & 19 year olds enjoyed it too. They had plenty of opportunities to take photos & video to send to their friends. Maybe it was because of low season (January) & therefore less crowded, or a smaller than usual group (around 12 - 15), but we thoroughly enjoyed this tour.

    Excellent tour of the Colosseum
We had a tour of the Colosseum and the Forum with Gabe. He was awesome! He was a wealth of knowledge and very friendly. He cracked a couple of great dad jokes that my husband will add to his repertoire 😆 He gave us some breaks to take pictures and use the restrooms but overall kept the tour moving at a good pace. We loved his homemade "this is the way" flag. Thanks, Gabe!

    History Overview
This was a great tour to see Palatian Hill and the Coliseum. You miss so much of the history if you don’t have a knowledgeable guide, and we were lucky to have Bogden! We originally booked a small group tour, but due to a guides illness we had to be combined with a larger group. Normally we would be disappointed, but the tour was phenomenal and made up for it. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking!

We had the pleasure of doing a German speaking tour of St. Peter's Basilica with Tanja, and it was the best tour we have ever experienced. Tanja is a professional restorer with extensive experience in art restoration in the Vatican, which gave our tour an incredible depth. Her knowledge and passion were truly remarkable.

Tanja's storytelling was perfectly balanced – entertaining and captivating without being too complicated. She shared just the right amount of facts, making history and art come alive for us. Their enthusiasm was infectious, and we left the tour with a much deeper understanding and appreciation for St. Peter's Basilica and its treasures.

We highly recommend this tour with Tanja. It is an unforgettable experience that combines expertise, passion and a love of art and history.

Our guide Silvia made sure that the queue for access controls to the Basilica (about 60 minutes) seemed like 5: very prepared, helpful and friendly. Absolutely recommended. The climb to the Cupola is challenging but the effort is totally rewarded. Nice day.

Sarah C is an excellent tour guide. She shared a lot of information about St. Peter’s and answered all of our questions. She kept us entertained during the wait in line for security. Her English was very good. Added to this we had the advantage of being in a group of just 5, beats a group of 25+ any day. This is a good tour to learn basic information about the Basilica.

Advertised as 'skip the line' but seeing as we queued with the 'freebie crowd' for security line and the lifts for the dome it seems we paid nearly £90 a couple for a guide. The amount of time we wasted searching for the meeting point and hanging around for the tour to start we could have queued with the general public and got in quicker and for free. Avoid!!! A total rip-off.

Hello, We apologize for any inconvenience caused by queuing in the non-skippable security line for a long time which is beyond our control. However, we need to point out that we NEVER advertised the tour as "skip the line" and we clearly highlight the waiting time before booking the tour in our tour description under the section (Important Information): (“Please be aware that the lines to clear security checks at the entrance of the square might take 15 to 90 minutes.”) Please feel free to contact us at info@touriks.com if you would like to discuss your issue further. We knew that this wasn’t a skip the line tour, but we were informed there was a shorter wait for tour groups. This was NOT true, that is true of the Vatican Museum. You have to wait in the long line with the tour guide. The dome climbs cost only 10 and church entry is free. We waited an hour to meet our tour, just to find we had to wait in the long line. We should have just gone in by ourselves. The tour guide was nice but several people on the tour were upset about the line situation. The guide tried her best, but what could she do. We ended up walking away from the tour group as soon as we passed security and buying the dome tickets out of pocket. Please go on this tour ONLY if you want to learn about the church and have some company in line. If you want skip the line for the church, the only way is through a Vatican tour, which normally does not have a dome climb, but is worth the time savings.

I was so disappointed. Arrived half an hour early. Was told to
Come back in 10 mins. Then had to queue for half an hour. Tour guide didn’t wait for me to go through security and carried on the tour. Took a long time to find her as she didn’t have her id up to see. We were rushed through the Basilica, only seeing the Left half, rushed through the grottoes, being informed Pope here, Pope there!! Felt extremely neglected, as our Spanish speaking guest who was on the tour and tour guide who was a Spanish speaker, so concentrated on this guest. We paid a lot of money to do this and did not feel we had value for money. Big big failure! We had to go back and enjoy St Peter’s basilica by our selves. Waste of money.

Thank you for your review. We are sorry to hear that this experience did not meet your expectations. We would like to point out, however, that this tour was never advertised as a skip-the-line tour due to security checks at the square's entrance and that it may take up to 45 minutes, as stated in the tour's description. Regarding the performance of the tour guide, your detailed feedback would be greatly appreciated as it will help us better filter out the guides in the future, allowing us to provide our clients with the best possible experiences. Therefore, we would appreciate it if you could kindly get in touch with us at info@touriks.com or call our team at +39 06 3105 4174 to provide us with the name of the guide if you remember it, in order to investigate your feedback further.

They closed the entrance to the dome early due to the influx of people, but I think that is something the guide should have anticipated. If we had gotten in line for the dome before visiting the Basilica, we would surely have gotten in.
To enter the Basilica you do not have to pay an entrance fee, so they are only charging me for the dome tickets and the guide's explanation. They are supposed to refund the amount of the tickets to the dome, but nothing equivalent to the time that the guide should have dedicated to us upstairs.
You have to wait in line at San Pedro Square anyway, and we spent an hour and a quarter waiting in line, so I think that this schedule is not worth it at all because they can close the dome.
In short, I think the price is very expensive for the service they gave us.

It was a big SCAM with the guide Sara.
We stood IN THE LINE for 4 hours, and after four hours, we finally reached the ticket counter where Sara bought tickets for us for 8 Euros pet person and then she said goodbye to us.

The guide did not enter the church with us, did not accompany us to the roof, and we did not find or see the entrance to the caves beneath the church. Shameful!

Booked via “get your guide” as a tour with audio guide and then queued for 2 hours. Better plan!!!! The dome viewing was great and even with elevator still strenuous enough if you want to climb very high (optional, recommended, but very narrow stairs and full). That's impressive. Better with skip the line and small group tour!

The guide was great but the overall experience was terrible. First stand in line for 1,5h in the rain (security check so no possibility to skip the line). Then 30min in line for the dome. Then we found out that guided tour was not possible inside the church for an unknown reason. The guide was very professional and talked during our 2h waiting in line but he could not guide inside. The recommendation is not to take an expensive guided tour but instead find a time, early or late, to avoid the queue and walk around yourself.
