- Mobile492919174980 contributionsWonderful place to spend a dayDo not miss this place. It and the Bardini gardens nearby are wonderful. Pitti has a huge art collection, a large and interesting display of costumes through the ages, and some bedrooms on display. If you are lucky you might get on a guided kitchen tour!Written 5 December 2024

She walked us through not only the cathedral but also Florence history so well, she explained such an historic dense city so easily that only makes you want to come back. Offered tips on key places to visits, we did and we cannot thank her enough for her recommendations and for the Florence knowledge shared. Big fans of Gloria!!!Written 2 December 2024
- 735MichaelK0 contributionsAnn unmissable day out, stunning rooms and artThe Pitti Palace was commissioned in 1440 by the banker Luca Pitti in an attempt to outdo the Medici family; but his luck changed and the family had to sell it to them in 1549. They initiated major expansion works, lavishly decorating the rooms and creating what are now the Bobboli Gardens. With the death of the last Medici Grand Duke in 1737, the Habsburg-Lorraines took over and lived in the palace until 1860. King Vittorio Emmanuel I briefly lived here from 1865-71. The Palatine Gallery was opened to the public in 1874 and the palace was donated to the state in 1919. To my mind, the building has a functional, depressing outward façade, like a prison, deliberately hiding views of the gardens behind. But the extensive interiors are a real treasure-house. The visit is equivalent to 6 separate attractions, and in many ways, more absorbing than the Uffizi. The Palatine Gallery is housed in a luxurious suite of rooms, filled with artworks, largely by Tuscan or wider Italian painters; Tintoretto, Raphael, Murillo, Gentileschi, Lippi, Titian, Caravaggio and more. The fun is finding them tucked away among the others, and guessing what the subject is. These rooms are enjoyable for the decoration alone. For me, the Ark Room was the most impressive, with its simulation of a large tent and action going on around you – fresco, trompe a l’oeil and marbling combined. The Royal Apartments were unfortunately closed, but there’s still the Museum of Fashion and Costume, the Modern Art Collection, and the State Rooms. In the latter, trompe a l’oeil is taken to the limit in some stunning rooms. The Russian icons did not work for me, but some of the items in the Treasury were mind-boggling, especially the ivory carvings (yes, I know tastes change over the centuries). Café not the cheapest and service not great. Boboli Gardens are an extra fee.Written 22 November 2024

After we prepped our food, we sat down for a meal of what we made, plus bruschetta. Everything was delicious! We had such a good time. Would strongly recommend!Written 21 November 2024

The tour completely left out Montalcino and the tour guide acted like he didn’t know we were supposed to go there. We left from Siena and went to a small winery in Lornano, in Chianti, the opposite direction of the 3 towns we were supposed to visit. Very disappointing tour.Written 9 October 2024

- Mermaidmelissa0 contributionsNot for me i am afraidHuge group tours are not my thing, the 2 vineyards we visited were very different the firat felt like a sales tour, the second was fun and they made a real effort to include everyone. Then a random trip to a castle when the weather was awful, seemed to be an exercise tonget us all to spend money in the small bar there. Overall it was ok but not my thingWritten 24 September 2024
- eschein20180 contributionsThe best Chef in the tuscany area. This class was great. Simone the chef was outstanding. Everyone had a opportunity to be part of the cooking. Along with Simone showing us how to prepare the menu but he was also very entertaining as well. The one thing that was very frustrating about this tour is that we were given wrong directions from Viator and we arrived about two hours late. There was another couple that bought the same tour from Viator and ran into the issues as we did. Simone just came right over to us worked with us and get us up to speed with the other attendees. Thanks to Simone for making this class so much fun and waiting for us the to hours we were lost.Written 23 September 2024
- christinawP8923FN0 contributionsTour for first-timersI’ve had the opportunity to do another large scale bus tour through the Chianti wine region so it was hard to not compare to this one. I felt the wineries we visited were best suited for those who have no wine experience. I understand the large scale tours have partnerships with wineries who will take large groups, but I was hoping one of the stops would be more authentic and offer views of the vineyard but both wineries were more of tourist stop. For those who know a bit about wine, spending a bit more money would be worth your time to ensure you get to visit more classic takes on Chianti wineries. Coming from Canada, the wineries felt like the ones at home which offer great experiences for first-timers but not best recommended for those with previous interest. The tour was rushed at each stop which became a joke between all tour goers but does affect the experience. To also note, pay attention to the pick up point - it is 25 minutes from the main station which led to a very squished train ride home. I luckily was English speaking but this tour is also offered in Spanish and both wineries the host did not know Spanish so I felt bad for the attendees who were expecting a Spanish tour. Overall, good tour for those who have never done a wine tour before but I would not recommend for someone with wine experience.Written 20 September 2024

It is best to print out your ticket from Expedia. The one you get through email that is written in Italian. Presented to the ticket office for your tickets and meal voucher. At the first stop you get to browse through the laboratory where scientists are finding ways to grow plants, and produce wines at altitude. You will be awarded with marvelous views as you walk around the botanical gardens. There is a restaurant at the first stop and also a buffet downstairs. Our tour included a meal at the top stop and the food was incredibly tasty. Very nice staff, limited English but enough to communicate effectively. We spent an about six hours in this experience. Self guided so research the area before you go up. You can also transfer to Chamonix and get to visit the aiguille de midi for an extra fee. Overall is a recommendation for everyone. Taxis are expensive to get back home and I would suggest to look at the bus schedule before you go up to plan your way home on time for reservations, etc. bus stop is to the left of the Monte Bianco ticket window or just ask they are very accommodating. Cheers

The place is perfectly operating and the views are breathtaking. We enjoyed it immensely. It is highly recommended!
The only problem we had with this trip was that the combination of entry fees and nice though not outstanding lunch amounted to an unreasonably expensive price. It should be a lot cheaper if one adds the standard entry fees and the cost of a decent lunch.

We parked the car in Pré-Saint-Didier at a cost of €.3/day and then reached the Skyway. The last stretch to reach Punta Helbronner is obviously the one that allows you to experience many emotions while getting lost in the wonders of nature. The Skyway is technologically advanced, rotating 360 degrees during the journey with a truly beautiful structure that allows you to enjoy unique views. The cost is high but it is worth it.

I understand that you have to make as much money as possible but since you sell yourself as a unique and breathtaking panoramic experience, you should be.
Instead we found ourselves crowded like chickens in the stiles.
With people that we say is not that it smelled and that in a cramped and overcrowded, yes that made the experience breathtaking....
I would suggest increasing the number of daily runs and the number of chickens you load each trip so that everyone can really enjoy the breathtaking view.

Dear Customer,
Thank you for sharing your feedback regarding your recent tour.
We are sorry to know that the experience did not meet your expectations.
The tour operates as a group experience, accommodating many customers who book for their preferred dates.
Unfortunately, this means we are unable to adjust the group size or request other customers to leave, as we strive to honor all bookings and maintain fairness in our scheduling.
We understand that the environment during the tour may have been affected by the presence of other guests, and we regret that this impacted your enjoyment of the experience.
While we strive to manage the group size effectively, certain limitations arise from the nature of group tours.
We appreciate your understanding and hope this explanation provides some clarity on the matter.
Thank you for your feedback, and we hope to have the opportunity to serve you better in the future.

One of the wonders of this planet is located in Courmayeur. Once you reach Punta Helbronner 3462 m you will find the Mont Blanc massif. A wonderful vision of our mountains. If you are a good skier in adequate time you could reach France on skis by descending into the Mer de Glace arriving in Chamonix. I've done it several times and it's a unique experience. I repeat one of the most beautiful experiences in the world. Absolutely worth seeing at least.

We decided to go up despite the bad day which didn't allow us to see the view. We made the right decision: the white that enveloped everything, the snow that fell heavily gave a fairytale atmosphere. The organization is excellent. We will return on a clearer winter day and in summer to admire the botanical garden and to arrive on the French side.

Absolutely one of the most beautiful experiences of my life... The grandeur and vastness of the surrounding environment, the perfect organisation, the extreme courtesy and professionalism of all the staff, starting from Courmayeur, passing through Pavillon, up to Punta Hellbronner.. The excellent food, the fabulous museum, the spotlessly clean environment, the breathtaking view... A true paradise... An experience to absolutely live.. I will return without a doubt and I highly recommend it.

On a clear day, this is an extraordinary trip. Everything was well organised - from the free bus that takes you to the cable car from Courmayeur bus station, to the smooth cable car journey and the awaiting scenery. The views are spectacular, and even four seasoned mountain skiiers were awestruck.
The service of the staff was also excellent. We hadn't realised that our Courmayeur 6-day lift pass gave us a free Skyway trip - so we booked in advance at €55/per person. As we went through the gates, showing our tickets, our lift passes in our jackets bleeped us through. The official heard - and whisked us away to process a refund for the advance tickets we had purchased. A little act of honesty and kindness that added to the whole experience.
