Itinerary
- Direzione Porto Marittimo, 30135 Venezia VE, ItalyThe driver will wait for you at the terminal of your cruise holding a sign with your name
- 1After 40 minutes driving distance by highway, you will reach the town of Padua, a Roman Empire city of which very little is left today. From the Middle Ages, the town develops with churches and palaces under the rule of the Carrara family. And it became an important university center that dates back to 1222, just after Bologna. In this town, you can admire a masterpiece of the Italian medieval art: the Scrovegni Chapel that Giotto frescoed to the Carrara family. It is required a pre-booked ticket to visit this building that must be purchased from their website. Padua is also the city of St Anthony. In the basilica there are the relics of the saint, an important religious site visited by pilgrims coming from all over the world. And near this area, for botany lovers (and not only), we find the first university botanic garden in Europe. Founded in 1545, it is part of the Unesco World Heritage List, and member of Botanic Gardens Conservation International. Of particular value is the pedestrian historic center with the Herbs squares and remarkable buildings. At approximately 12:30pm you will leave the town to drive along the Brenta riviera, after your lunch break in an Italian restaurant with local meal. The Brenta waterway is the most famous and attended itinerary among those suggested to visit the Venetian villas. A waterway long about forty kilometers, which links Venice to Padua by tracing the course of an ancient branch of the river Brenta. From the fifteenth century, it was channeled and harnessed by locks for the navigation.

Passport had 8 months till expiry. Was refused flight by TUI at the airport. TUI claim that IGlU should have made us aware of this. I beleive that both should have done something to highlight this holiday canceling problem. DisgraceWritten 11 November 2024
- Resort374523731420 contributionsMsc overSorry but this is being posted. Had the worst holiday of all time in just 1 day on this cruise.. Kids slide not manned. Kids hitting hit restriction but because not 7 years old even on my knees on double ring. The older kids all blocked the kids slide getting stuck then injuring my 4 year olds lip resulting in it bleeding. Then some young lad doesn't wait and comes down then kicking my son in the back while he's already screaming for his father to come over and used 3 swear words at my 4 year old.. A glass kicked over in kids area I had to pick up myself because the attendant couldn't be bothered to do himself and called a cleaner that never turned to stop kids injuring themselves. We paid £25 for a game of bowling when our pins kept falling over 5 times (needed reset everytime) or more to then get moved to the next ally moving our game over (fair enough).. for our game to be cut off before we got to finish.. leaving a 4 year old very upset and my 13 year old autistic/adhd son very confused and a very angry, frustrated mum dealing with my kids. Now being a big bowling fan this is not how a game of bowling works. You play until the game is finished and the winner announced. Try telling the very rude woman on reception who then called 2 security guards on me for complaining. No1 was waiting for a game behind us.. everything extremely overpriced.. the 3d cinema room is very good but also get about 2 mins for £10 pp. The WiFi is a absolute joke. £140 to book for 1 person and I can't stream a film to watch on netflix 😐 (streaming package i bought!) My autistic son had a meltdown with no WiFi to be told on ship £200 pp. Everything adding up we'd of been cheaper doing the Caribbean cruise on p&o and had a better experience.. Also Ramsey travel £1000 for drinks package and £600 for kids. Everyone else I've talked to paid £250 per adult and £150 or less for kids. Shocking! Won't be back! Worst holiday all in one day. Had enough and want home. Looking forward to my visit to Ramsey travel when home. Spent £350 on mocktails and coke 🤬😡😠Written 5 November 2024
- f4jock0 contributionsOceania Mediocre at BestMediocre at best is how we describe Oceania. Our tour sights changed daily due to very poor provider services and were very expensive. High winds prevented us from seeing the 3000 BC settlement in Kirkwall so instead of adding the old viking church in town they extended out 30 minute photo opportunity to a two hour photo stop. Absolutely disgusting. I brought this to the attention of the concierge who twice notified the excursion department of the problem. Five days later the manager of the department finally called but couldn’t have cared less. Passengers were told around 10PM the evening before docking that we would actually be docking 25 miles from Edinburgh but “we will provide a free shuttle to the train station so you can take a 30 minute ride to town and back but you will need to hire a cab to get back to the ship. “ I spent almost $300 in additional cab fees to get to Dalhousie Castle and back to the ship. The excursions department was generally very rude. They will tell you it takes 6 tours to earn the discount. What they don’t tell you is that is for two people, ie. 12 tours. Also, our tour bus for Belfast was released 8 minutes after our show up to the lounge time and the individual who told me that the show up time on the ticket was actually the time they could release the buses. She was fired two days later and kicked off the ship. Our port of Dublin was closed since we had to use tender boats and the “water was too rough for tenders”. My wife’s family is Irish, so the reason we took the cruise was eliminated. After canceling Dublin, our ship sailed around in circles for a day rather than go to an alternate destination. My wife and I have had 93 crises between the two of us. Oceania/Marina has good food and dining service but the rest of the categories are mediocre. We have actually had a few Carvival cruises that were better. Don’t waste your money on this highly overated cruise line. There arr many other lines that provide superior service at a greatly reduced price.Written 26 September 2024
- Clive B0 contributionsFantastic opera experienceA great experience with good opera at a reasonable price in a mind blowing venue. Bought the seat cushions outside for 3 euros and the stone steps didn’t cause a problemWritten 24 June 2024
- Familyli40 contributionsExcellent in all ways.Excellent in all ways. Food; entertainment; crew. Four nights of fun and relaxation We just did a cruise last year on MSC and was about to give up on cruising. Celebrity made us want to go again on a cruise soon.Written 1 June 2024
- elainemoore900 contributionsTreated very unfairlyWe recently travelled with the MSC Orchestra from Alicante 11.05.2024. We booked the cruise plus a wedding blessing. Although when we originally booked the cruise we was assured it was a legal binding wedding after constantly asking. We would have turned up on the day and ot be able to even have a blessing We had to quickly have a register office wedding beforehand. The wedding blessing wash held on the 15.05.2024 in the presence of my brother and sister in law The disco toom was decorated staff attended in uniform we had a cake and champagne it was lovely and far better than we thought it would be. Two days later my husband and I went to have a look at oir photographs. We were taken to a private library a large photo album was given to us with size A4 photographs none of our choosing plus 150 prints and a USB stick. We were informed this would be 2.000 euros most of the prints were the same 7 times over. This price was outrageous. We when then informed we could have 15 photographs for 500 euros. We never asked for an album to be completed which their choices not ours. We were both very upset as we are both in our sixties and have been married before We asked to speak to a manager. The activities co-ordinator spoke with us stating that this was the terms condition contract of the wedding blessing of which we had not been informed any of this imformation prior. All we would havewanted would have been 20 normal size photographs of OUR choosing which was advertised for 179.99 euros at the desk area which would have been ideal again we had no choice in the matter. This completely ruined the rest of our holiday we have no real photos of the day. I want people to be aware of this that should they book an event with MSC the added cost which was ridiculously priced and would rather shred the lri ts than give us the choice to buy any We will not be planning any further holidays with MSC in the future. On a positive note the staff were friendly and polite. Mr Chris and Elaine Evans Room 9124Written 22 May 2024
- marjude0 contributionsDeparting passengers all wet and they don’t care.At the end of this 3 week Oceania cruise in March 2023 on a chilly and rainy morning this so-called luxury cruise line left dozens of disembarking passengers standing in the rain for nearly an hour waiting for a bus to transport them from Trieste to Venice so they could fly home. I voiced a complaint through my travel agent asking only for a letter of apology. After several weeks I was told that would give me a $100 cabin credit in my next cruise with them. That will be never. They have lost thousands of dollars of my business. These arrogant people don’t seem to get it even in a difficult post-Covid period . Nightly lamb chops and lobsters just isn’t enough for us. How about a little humility?Written 5 April 2024
- Easy_wave0 contributionsBe careful of hidden costs.Beware the gratuity system!!! Booked through IGLU, UK's largest cruise booker, but beware...the price advertised is NOT want you are 'expected' to pay. Celebrity Cruise, being American, ask for $18 per day per person for a gratuity!!!!! They take it automatically from your onboard registered credit card, and if you don't want to pay it you have to go to onboard reception and ask for it to be taken off. That makes you feel like a Scrooge. Still, you can tip as you please. When you finally call IGU to book they will ask you how much you want to pay. Don't pay! Otherwise, we booked last minute. Deck 2. Cheap, but good porthole window. However, the cabin was definitely tired. Almost all cabin doors were wobbling and wouldn't shut until we called in the maintenance. Bathroom was clean but stained. We had a change of ship's itinerary and didn't go to Rhodes because of windy 40 knot weather. There was no wind like that whatsoever. Saving money?? Even so, it was still cheap and the places in the Aegean we visited were amazing. The crew of the Celebrity Infinity were great and it was a well run ship. Most of the evening shows were good (some definitely not). Ship's Wifi costs were extortionate, and drinks best left till on-shore. Overall it was a good holiday.Written 12 March 2024
- DCaprilee0 contributionsMuch better experience than expectedMy expectations for this cruise were very low based on the terrible Azamara website, incorrect embarking directions and poor pre-trip customer service. I was pleasantly surprised by the excellent crew, captain and cabin. On this cruise we went from Buenos Aires to Rio for two nights of Carnaval. We were supposed to overnight in Montevideo, but it was cancelled at the last minute so we had an extra day at sea. Our cabin attendant, Matt, was terrific. A room with a balcony was most appreciated because we had many days at sea with nice weather. The restaurant staff were attentive and friendly. The captain was present and communicative. The excursions were good, but pricey. The food was plentiful, but not gourmet. The Quest is old and needs cabin bathroom upgrades. Azamara must improve its back office and website or its brand will suffer.Written 2 March 2024
- 909kristinu0 contributionsPoor customer serviceI have been trying to unsubscribe from catalogues in the mail for two years. I have called repeatedly (there is no way to email, per their website). No one responds; I keep getting catalogues that I never asked for. I tried calling the "book a cruise" number, but the saleswoman was unable to assist me or connect me to someone who could help. Seems like all they care about is making money!Written 3 February 2024
- Monica LIda P0 contributionsSecond home in the Middle EastI’m very excited. Best place for holiday. EVERYTHING was excellent, the ship, the staff, the food, the shows etc. it’s really worthy to spend time there. I was with my friend and we enjoyed every single day. Every night we had a unforgettable shows near pool, every evening we dined at the restaurant La Caravella, big thanks to our unique waiter Riski, the best service I’ve ever seen (i mean it) very caring, nice and friendly human being . Also the crew was amazing and very friendly. It feels like you are at home. So you won’t disappointed, I’m recommending everyone to go to that cruise . Thank you very much MSC ,big thanks from MonicaWritten 16 December 2023
- Annie B0 contributionsA world of delightful experiencesWe left from Trieste which is a beautiful city and onto a wonderful voyage on the Marina....the cabin wasn't huge but very comfortable especially the bed...so nice to sink into at the end of a very busy day sightseeing....the bathroom while small was well designed and there was a huge tv in the cabin but didn't work while in ports, just at sea...the food on board was so varied and yummy, from buffets to fine dining and in between. The chef's were amazing ...shops on board always seem to be closed because of regulations about duty in different ports. The pool is very small for the number of people but lots of sun loungers. It was terrific to wake every morning at a new port...tiring but so interesting. Everything was very well arranged and we'll run including luggage and staff. Our minds are still spinning with memories that will I'm sure last for years....wonderful experiences and heartily recommend.Written 25 October 2023
- kklay81810 contributionsOceania Marina Cruise beginning daysOur experience is still ongoing but it started at the airport in Venice. We had them book us a room ahead of the cruise out of Trieste. Oceania arranged a water taxi to take us straight to our hotel Molino Stucky. Utter luxury and impeccable service. We did eat at the hotel’s restaurant and it was an excellent choice. We loved Venice and was very glad we spent a few extra days early to recover the transatlantic flight over!Written 17 October 2023
- Bruce B0 contributionsThe new Crystal Cruise lineWe just completed the Rome to Venice cruise on the Crystal Cruise ship Symphony. We booked a one night stay in Venice through Crystal. I was somewhat concerned about the stay in Venice since this is the new Crystal Cruise company. We have in the past booked pre cruise and post cruise stays through old Crystal and we were totally satisfied with them. I can truthfully say that our recent post cruise arrangements were every bit as good as those booked through Old Crystal. There were only about ten couples. From the cruise that stayed over in Venice. We were all booked into the JW Marriott Resort and Spa which is located on its own 40 acre island off of Venice. Crystal had two representatives at a desk in the lobby of the hotel to assist us. Our flight out of Venice was at 6:40 am. Crystal had a private water taxi pick us up at the hotel at 4:00 am to take us to the airport. A Crystal representative went with us and took care of everything. The water taxi took us into Venice where we were met by our private car to take us to the airport. The Crystal representative accompanied us in the car and upon arrival at the air port she handled our luggage, took us to our airline desk, obtained our boarding passes and showed us how to get to the airline lounge for us to wait for our flight. The Crystal representative took care of everything and we could not be more satisfied. I can definitely say that Crystal Cruise line is back and is every bit as good if not better than the old Crystal.Written 9 October 2023
- Elizabeth T0 contributionsWorst cruise ever!Worst ship I have ever been on, the staff on reception was very rude and uneducated they never even knew what an ATM was? The ship was nice but food was barely warm and the cabin was tiny hardly anywhere to put your clothes, shower was big enough for children only, full of very loud Italians and just very poor service all round. Please avoid if thinking of booking your next cruiseWritten 3 October 2023
