We have spent 7 weeks in Europe from Australia, self-organised with many tours, and this was by far the best tour best value and best fun tour. Our Venetian guide was so passionate it was a pleasure to learn all about the lagoon’s history. Lunch was at one of several recommended restaurants and was lovely, by a Burano canal. The lacemaking and glass artisans they chose to take us to were outstanding. Well done Andrea!Written 8 June 2024
- Morgan A0 contributionsFantastic Tour!Andrea was the best tour guide ive ever had, he knew a-lot about the history of Venice/italy and was able to share it all through stories, pictures, signs etc… Additionally, my partner and i received some complementary drinks and snacks at a very nice local bar for FREE! I highly recommend this tour the only issue i see was that i didnt do it at the start as we received a very unique/localised list of things to do in and around Venice which we now have to do in a few days. (Skip all the crowed & you Will Be treated like family )Ciao Andreapaolo 💕 We had such an exclusive / personal experience w/ you in Venice — our kids keep talking about you —- you are now their unofficial Venetian uncle. Day 1 in Venice we did the evening tour where it was really wonderful experience to get to know the city of Venice. W/ stories of history & culture … we stopped for photos of course … and authentic Osteria for dinner :) JUST AMAZING. Day 3 we did the island tour to Burano & Murano w/ Vapporetto… we were the only people … so Lucky :) We met in person the glass makers & their store - learned about the famous artists that order particular designs . Also, in Burano like Fairy tale (or colorful kids story book city ) we walked about the city & also visited the shop where they have school & actual seamstress who make the lace :) We even had time for lunch before heading back to main island Venice. Andreapaolo was a wonderful, warm, friendly and funny guide, he kept the group engaged with interesting facts through the walk and had plenty of advice to offer for other sights to see in this beautiful city.
I did this tour only hours after arriving, and it was a great way to be introduced to Venice and how to navigate the many streets and islands. Following the 1.5 hour walk (with some neat photo opportunities) you sit down for dinner at a darn good seafood restaurant. I'm not usually a seafood fan so was relieved to see they have a few meat or vegetarian options. However I recommend you go out of your comfort zone and try the cuttlefish ink pasta like I did, it's surprisingly rich!

What a great walking tour — the location covered is a part of the city that is not smack in the middle of the usual tourist zone, so it's a PERFECT way to get to know Venice better. We started with a visit to the old Jewish quarter, which was very moving. We continued with a walk all around Cannaregio, ending near Rialto Bridge. Andrea was full of stories, banter, and super interesting information about all of the buildings and other sights around us, and added in a lot of 'fun facts' that are particular to how Venice works. Small group, great guide, very entertaining and educational. Very good value for the price, would 100 percent recommend to all. Thank you!

This is a must-do tour in my opinion. I did this on my first night which was definitely the best time to do it. Our tour guide was so informative and fun, not to mention gave us great tips for things to see, try, and enjoy. I don't want to give too much away but this was so worthwhile and would recommend to anyone thinking of visiting Venice. Thank you so much Andrea!

The tour guide did not contact me in time and when I contacted her to tell her I was en route she did not wait for me. I already needed my tour moved to Tuesday bc I wasn’t able to make it to Venice on Sunday..

“Inconsiderate” ?!? 🤬
You called me late saying that “finaly you were able to find your way” ⏰ and then you asked “how to reach the group that was, just by statistics, 20mins far away😵💫
I don t really think you considered that also a request like this was not very kind thinking about the others 8 members of our group…they were all in front of me...what I can do?! Just say “We stand now here waiting for her👸 or “I offer you a coffe until we wait for her👑?”
Just think if you wrong again way🥲
No worries about full refund (I know very well that navigate here in Venice could be difficult) I m really so sorry for you, but I made the best decision taking care of the others that reached the meeting point on time.
(Just to know some couples were at the meeting point 15mins before 7pm)
REMEMBER that I can of course wait 10mins more but if I don’t receive any call I have to considered your reservation a “no show” since you can get a full 24h refund thanks the Viator’s customer service!
Finaly I m not the one that have to call every guests asking “where are you?” Viator provide a WONDERFUL chat line where You can keep in touch with our office for 24h and about me my PERSONAL PHONE NUMBER is there! Just call me 10mins before 7pm saying “I will be able to reach the meeting point 15/20mins later” and maybe I can considered to offer a spritz to the others waiting for you, but a late call that ask “how to reach the group” ( I have to add that Venice is a real “labirinto” where Google map a lot of time it is not working) is one request that I can’t considered. Stop.
Then certainly it is very easy to take revenge putting 1star in the review, but as we say here in Venice "the truth always comes out from water”

We had the best time with Andreas. Not only was he a fantastic guide but he is definitely proud to be a Venetian. He gave us a complete history lesson of every place we stopped, along with a lot of humor. The restaurant/food was incredible, and the owner was nice as could be. I cannot say thank you enough for a very memorable night in Venice.
The only thing I can add is that you add to the Departure instructions that you will call at the departure time. We were very worried that we would miss the tour because the instructions were vague. Otherwise, we loved the tour, we loved the restaurant/food, and thank you Andreas for a great night!

My friends and I joined this tour with 4 people from USA and another lady from the UK. We all felt the tour was not what we booked. We thought we had booked a food tour. Andreas, the tour guide was very nice but a little unprofessional. After walking around sightseeing for an hour we were taken to a tapas bar with no seats and was told we would have some food, then after 30 minutes we were then going to carry on sightseeing. We questioned Andreas saying that the tour was not as expected and we thought we would do more food tasting. We decided to leave the tour and ask for our money back.

I m very sorry that you didn’t like the experience: as was told this is NOT a food tour: it is a short “HOMEPAGE” of Venice where starting from the end of the city people see the most hidden and then famous city places seeing which is the different perspective of view between the “locals” and the “touristic” areas.
In the middle of it there is a short “time break” of 1h where we visit an OSTERIA (street food like in Barcellona) not a “bar”😂 where Chef made for you a RISOTTO SEA FOOD (5euros) - FRITTURA DI PESCE (15euros)
giving you a glass of WHITE WINE (5euros)
(In this way you can also try some seafood and Prosecco from here without walking like “Marines” 3h no stop 🧟)
I m again really and really sorry to be seem “unprofessional” but I HAVE TO REPEAT was no possible eating more due EXPERIENCE IS COSTING 50EUROS - then Tripadvisor keep the 20% commission (10euros) and you have FOOD and WINE INCLUDE

Due this is not a “noprofit” business eating more than this (and I have to say “like Pavarotti”😂) it is not possible.
I’m now agree with you saying that this not a problem of you, but it was’n t very kind thing to say (maybe you were just hungry/angry😂 I never know it 😇never mind I proposed you a full refund due sometimes happened that guests don t read the listing seeing just all 5stars reviews.
I really hope you were able to spend your money in some other unforgettable Viator’s experience!

Wonderful. Best tour we have done in Italy. Our guide was funny and so knowledgeable about the area and it’s history. We stopped for drinks and nibbles and he then made reservations for those who wished an evening meal at the end of the tour. The tour lasted 3 hours but it didn’t feel like it. Would absolutely recommend this tour.

We spent our first night in Venice getting oriented to the city, the history and the people with Andrea … who was a gem! Funny and down to earth and knowledgeable too! We were able to see lots of the city & get a hearty snack and beverage too. Would 100% recommend!

Andrea was an excellent tour guide!!! Very kind and very accessible. He walked us thru venis while sharing the history and the details that you wouldnt notice if you go alone. At the end of the tour we ate at the Osteria Ai Specchieri which was exquisit. Good food and good service. Would recommend.
The tour was also very elderly friendly, since Andrea made it easy for an older persone who accompanied us.

Our tour guide was very informative. He tried very hard to explain about the area we visited. His passion was evident in his explanations. He took us to a nice restaurant to give us a taste of wine and a ciccetti. It was very good. He also showed us a great restaurant at the end of the tour. The cannaregio area is wonderful! Thank you!
