Make sure you know the name of your stop!
Took the boat from Venice airport into the centre as thought it would be a nice way to travel. We located the desks and bought our tickets and the staff were very helpful telling us where we needed to go and expressly telling us we were the second stop…..fast forward to arriving into Venice. We were tracking the journey on google maps and when we arrived at the first stop it was close to where we needed to be, so were delighted that the second stop should be even closer! We stayed on the boat which then proceeded for another 10mins into the centre getting further and further away from where we needed to be. When the second stop finally arrived we were 40mins walk away from the initial stop, I asked the driver if there was going to be another stop and he turned his back and ignored me. The second man told me there are no ‘stops’ and we should’ve got off the first one. No further advice than that. So much for great customer service and we were left with a 40mins walk with heavy luggage in the midday heat.

    Choose alternate option
This is my second time writing a review for this trip. My first one was apparently removed. I booked this option for our return trip from Venice to the airport. I never received a confirmation that I had this booking, and when I proceeded to attempt to cancel the booking the day before our departure, I was unable to get in contact with anyone from the Airport link transfer outside of office hours. We were able to make alternate arrangements for a ride to the airport using a public transport option, which worked out great. When I requested a refund in advance of the pick up time that we had requested, I was denied the refund. I advise travelers to seek alternate means of transport to/from the airport.

    Great way to arrive!
A fantastic way to arrive in Venice. Well organised with welcoming staff on the reception desk (Desk 71 upstairs!). We had to wait about 20 minutes to gather a full boatload. Dropped very close to our hotel and provided with a detailed map showing us how to do the short walk the rest of the way. Would certainly choose this arrival method again.

Water taxi transfer from san Marco
Clear sign for us at the airport, very helpful and courteous transfer - willing to change destination at last minute when we were advised by accommodation. Excellent. Highly recommend this.

Great inexpensive transport from airport to San Marco, but Beware of toilette at San Marco Stop
The ride from Marco Polo airport to San Marco was amazingly on time for each stop which was a nice surprise! The view is very nice and scenic although there are patches of water that were rough most likely due to other boats passing by very closely. Nonetheless the ride was very enjoyable. One thing to beware of is the toilet at San Marco stop which is right in front of the dock for the boat. Like in other parts of Europe there is a charge to use the toilet which is €1.5. There are no instructions how to get into the bathroom and there it is a lady standing at the entrance who looked like she worked there but completed ignored all of my questions. I was In a rush to get on the next boat back to the airport which should’ve been obvious. I finally figured that I had to pay the money in the machine but when I tried to insert the money, the lady who ignored me up until then, stopped me, took my money which was 2 euros, and ignored my request for change. On top of that, she let all the Italian people around me go in and out of the toilet first before letting me go through. If you see a big Afro Italian lady at the entrance of the toilet make sure to give her exactly the €1.5 not a euro more as you will not receive any change.

A wonderful way to get to Venice from the Airport!
We had a great experience taking this water taxi from the airport to our hotel in Venice. We purchased tickets in advance and the booth where we checked in was easy to find when we got off the plane, situated on the lower level. There were only two of us, and we met one other couple and a family of 4, before we were all led to the dock together. We all fit in the water taxi with our luggage and our stop was the last one at St Mark’s square.

    Perfect, seemless transfer.
The boat was on-time at our hotel. The transfer to the van was prefect. The driver met us at the boat, helped unload the luggage and walked us to the van, which was very close. Ride to the airport was great.

A reliable, no frills service from Airport to Venice and return
A good reliable, no frills service. Both journeys were punctual, and whilst having a meal one night near the Fondamente Nova stop and noticed all the Aliluguna boats seemed to be on time to and from the airport (we wanted to see it was reliable for our return journey so we weren't late for our flight home). A couple of things to be aware of... The boats can get full, especially if you have lots of luggage. We weren't allowed on the first one that came because of this, but this meant we were at the front of the queue for the next one that came along. I'm not sure if you can book a specific boat to ensure you set a seat but didn't see an option for this on the website. It may pay to allow a little extra journey time for this when catching a flight. Second thing is that if you pay for tickets online you still need to get a physical ticket to travel. This means getting to a ticket office with the receipt and/order reference for them to issue a ticket to travel. You cannot just show your emailed booking receipt to travel. This was made clear when booking but I noticed some others have commented on this in their review. Not all stops have a ticket office so check the website for where they are.

    Painful.
Chaos on arrival and departure - need nerves of steel to navigate the ambiguity of the situation! Needs clearer signage and direction to enable smoother transfer

    Terrible Experience
We got all the way to the boats only to be told we had to go back to the terminal to get our tickets. A 30 minute round trip walk! We didn’t have time to do it so we just paid for a different transfer. This wasn’t very well explained. We deserve a refund.

    NO SHOW
No Show, waited from 0315 to 0400. Found a bus to take to the airport. No contact info to get ride and had been removed from our bookings already. For a 0900 appt at airport our hotel was contacted for a 0355 pickup ten minutes from our hotel.

    Easy booking, great service
This was a great way to travel from the airport to our hotel San Cassiano which had its own dock so we were dropped off right outside. It was also the first stop from the airport, which was nice as it was an extremely hot afternoon and we were longing to get to our hotel and settle in. The service was fast and well organised. Upon arrival, the desk is hard to find, you need to go left after you come through Customs and into the arrivals hall, go up the stairs, keep going left following the water taxi signs and then the desk is on the left before you get on the moving walkway down to the water taxi dock, which is to your right. We shared it with 3 other parties and there was enough room on board. There was 20 mins waiting time, then 20 mins on the boat to our hotel. At €33 per adult, it is a mid range price for a transfer. You can go to the Allilaguna desk in the same location and buy a return ticket for €27 return on the public water taxi, however the San Stae stop was a few streets away and we decided the extra expense was worth it to be dropped right outside our hotel in the heat and humidity of the afternoon. Alternatively you can pay €140 upwards for your own private transfer. I would recommend this company and found all their staff to be extremely helpful. The booking process was simple. I would use this service again.

    Look out for Desk 71
Glad I read the reviews prior to travelling, as there is no mention in the docs we had printed saying we had to go to desk 71 for the actual tickets for the boat taxi. Basically, once you go passed passport control, head upstairs to the left and desk 71 is located there. Present docs in exchange for the boat taxi ticket. Go along the moving pavement to the end, which is where the boat taxis are. There were 10 (including us) on the taxi and albeit a little cosy, there was just enough room to feel comfortable. After about 30mins on the water, the boat taxi dropped us off at the nearest stop along the Grand Canal to where we were staying. Pls don't think it goes within an inch of your accommodation. Cost us £75, which is half had we have booked a private taxi for the 2 of us. Overall, would recommend.

    Nasty experience. Terrible!
Terrible service and experience. There is no way to buy tickets outside of the port, unless you have a card that you can’t buy there, nor is there a QR code, nothing at all, their website is pretty much obsolete, if you try to buy them in the boat they will try to charge you a 50 euro fine per person, since you have to buy the tickets before getting on the boat, basically they make it difficult to buy them so they can fine you. The workers were pretty aggresive and condescending even though we tried to reason the situation with them and pay the tickets, they also wanted our passports, we told them to call the police and they started to insult us. If this is a private company I hope the government takes their licences away since they are pretty much scammers, fortunately we were able to get out of the situation without paying the fine nor them stealing our passports (which we don’t carry around obviously), we just left the boat at the next port even though they got in our way and tried to restraint us, they followed us outside of the boat and started to insult us and our country, once again, then they started to clap like clowns. Luckily we found a local that was pretty nice and oriented us.

Terrible customer experience. We purchased 2 15 euro tickets for the airport service. We arrived at 9:15AM at the San Stae stop for the 9:45AM boat. The boat arrived at 9:45AM and told us it was full, and that another boat would pick us up in 10 minutes. The driver clearly knew this was a lie, as is documented in the many negative reviews of your service. We ended up waiting half an hour and then needed to order a 120 euro private water taxi, which picked us up at 10:30AM, to get us to the airport on time (we could no longer take public transport due to the driver’s lie). They refuse to acknowledge any fault and won't issue a refund, never mind reimbursing us for the additional expense. There were 6 of us in total that had the same problem at this particular stop. Truly reprehensible company that traps it's "customers" -- I'm shocked the city doesn't shut them down. Avoid at all costs.

we are really sorry to read that you were not satisfied with our service and we apologise for any inconvenience we might have caused. Please note that an extra boat arrived after 30 minutes to pick the passengers left at the pier. Our GPS system installed on board, through which we can control the exact position of the boats in real time, can attest that. We know how important it is the connection to the airport and we take our service very seriously. Unfortunately, as Italy is still in a state of emergency due to Covid-19, we had to cut a lot of rides reducing also the frequency of the boats. We can't know in advance if a boat will be full (we don't have a booking system like all the other means of transport in the world, for ex. buses or the tube) but when this happens we always send an extra boat to pick the passengers still waiting at the pier, as we did in your case. We thank you for your understanding and we apologise once again for the inconvenience. Best regards,

Arrived at Fondamente Nova for 18.17 ferry but it was full and they wouldn’t let us on They said another boat would be sent. But no sign of it. They wouldn’t let us on the bus going the other way so we could guarantee seats back to airport and said the extra service would be 20mins. No sign of it at all.

As many other customers, we had a terrible experience with Alilaguna. We (2 parents and 3 children) bought a return ticket at the airport. The woman at the counter never told us to try and board in one of the first stops.
The inbound trip was not that nice - crammed inside a small boat with almost no view and little air, and slow. No social distance, no hydroalcoholic gel, no checking masks, in a poorly ventilated cabin.
But what really shocked us was our return trip: we arrived well in advance at the station to make sure we would have seats, and the very rude boat driver simply told us it was full and left us and other customers there, without any advice, apologies or explanation. We had to run to the bus station with our children and luggage, buy tickets and we could have missed our flight.
In a nutshell: VERY unreliable, slow, expensive, rude service which could ruin the end of your stay. Robbery.

We used the Alilaguna service as our hotel was next to San Zaccharia so we could get on at the airport and get off a few steps from our hotel. The service is well sign posted from the terminal and easy to find if you follow the Water Transport signs. There are machines selling tickets as soon as you get off the plane, or you can book in advance on-line. It cost us 27 euros return and the service runs very punctually every half hour.
I don't think this will be the quickest way to travel into the city (approx 75 mins to San Zaccharia) but for the convenience and not to have to worry about onward connections - particularly when you are unfamiliar with the geography of the city - I would heartily recommend it if your hotel is near one of the stops.

Good price, but almost an hour slower than private taxi. It has many stops from San Marco to the airport, if Lido wasn't in the route, it would be much faster. Comfortable interior, and plenty of room for luggage. It runs pretty much on time, for that reason, it is better to be at the waterbus stop at least ten minutes prior the schedule time.

We purchased two tickets with Alilaguna to take the orange line from M.dell' Orto to the airport online. We printed the tickets even at the train station and went 15 min early just to be sure, and when the boat arrived on time, we asked if it's the connection to the airport. The driver told us "no" and that the connection to the airport would arrive in a couple of minutes. He also asked us how many we are; and when we replied 'two' he said: "perfect, no problem. In a couple of minutes." The boat was just half full. When the boat left, we saw tho, that he took exactly the route that was drafted on the boat schedule.. As you can imagine no other boat arrived so we were almost late to the airport and spend in total 200 euros to get there.
When we wrote the customer service, they just send a manual message "we can't help you" and never replied again. Not the way how you want to end a your trip.

Alilaguna is a private service operating in Venice, NOT public as it says on their board. You can buy tickets very easily via QR codes but having done this I would avoid them like the plague. They take your money and then the boats don't arrive, when one does arrive it's too full and you are left waiting. We waited nearly 2 hrs like this and then had to take a private taxi to get our flight. No one tells you anything and when you email for a refund they ignore you. If you do decide to try it, pay via paypal so you can get a refund when it doesn't turn up. Better to get the bus from Piazzale Roma or get a group of you together for a private taxi. If you take the taxi it obviously costs a bit more - for 8 (all 8 and about 12 others were left stranded by Alilaguna) it cost us 25euros each. Not bad for a service which actually shows up and it was quite an exciting ride!

Very bad service, in the current situation, they use much smaller boats, with limited capacity. Result: an extra hour wating.
They save money making customers wating much more, without even announcing their change in policy.
Very bad!

If you want a unique experience fork out the extra money and take a luxury water taxi. The skippers are vey helpful and the boat is open so you can take in the amazing views. This once off expense is worth it, you will not be using the boats a lot while in Venice unless you are really tired from all the walking. The water busses have a schedule easily accessed on the website and tickets can be purchased conveniently at the docking station. Unfortunately it takes long and the skipper did not want to take us to the final stop and was rude about it.

Alilaguna has multiple lines to take you to the airport. We took the blue line as it operates as early as 5 am. It is a very reliable and safe service between Venice and the airport. It cost us $15 per person. They offer multiple stops in Venice. I highly recommend this service as it is cost effective and safe and actually a lot better than getting a private taxi because the water in that area is very choppy and water taxis are generally smaller and you will have a rough ride.

Alilaguna ride was smooth and the boat is large. After getting off, we had a brief walk to the airport.
