- Jim and April H0 contributionsA storybook perfect day! This tour was a dream experience! The small family-owned boutique winery is out of a story-book. We rode e-bikes (which we hadn’t done before - so fun!) while the winemaker himself shared stories of the vines and villages. It was peaceful and the perfect pace. We then shared a delicious lunch of homemade pasta with truffles while tasting their superb Valpolicella wines. The views were incredible and the whole day was perfect. I highly recommend this experience!Written 9 August 2024
- carlavO4983SR0 contributionsE bike tour with wine tasting.Very good experience with family of four on e-bikes for the first time. Guided tour adapted to level of experience. Lovely views with delicious mail afterwards in the garden accompanying the wines tasting. I would recommend this to my friends.Written 12 July 2024
- markgood720 contributionsTruffle hunting was just OK, wine tasting was goodAs experienced “truffle hunters” in Italy (we also did it in Tuscany 2-3 years ago), the truffle hunting part of the tour was just OK. More of a hike than anything, but only found 4-5 very small truffles, maybe the size of a marble. Compared to 2 years ago in Tuscany, we found 15-20 in half the time, all very good size, like an average strawberry. Then, when they served us food, it was good, but there was hardly any truffle on it at all, maybe just oil, not 1 slice that you usually find. Again, compared to Tuscany, the guy shaved 5-10 slices on each dish. In Tuscany, he probably used 3-4 full truffles for only 4 of us. Here, I don’t think they used even 1, just oil with some truffle specs. The wine was very good. The people were super nice, although a little slow with the tasting. I would recommend doing the tasting only and save truffle for Tuscany or elsewhere. On their website, they show shaving the truffles on the food, but they did not do that.Written 8 June 2024
- U7459RFadaml0 contributionsUnforgettable E-Bike TourThis tour was amazing. Nicola was very enthusiastic and an outstanding host. We loved learning about his family’s rooted history in wine making and culture. The views of the valley during the tour were unbelievable and I recommend this to anyone wanting a full Italian wine country experience.Written 31 May 2024
- louk6240 contributionsItalian countryside experience. We were not sure what to expect. The trip to the farm was an adventure on the winding roads up the mountain. Our guide gave us a tour of the farm and a chance to see the beautiful scenery from the top of the mountain. The tasting was nice but could have been more informative. The olive oil was delicious. We were surprised to also get a wine tasting thrown is since another couple had just finished their wine tasting.Written 25 May 2024
- J9940ESgustavog0 contributionsAmazing rideDefinitely mi highlight of the trip. If you love wine, outdoors and mountain bike, this is a must visit. This is a great experience, beautiful chateau and a very friendly host. Thank you Nicolai!Written 24 May 2024
- svetlanapbg0 contributionsEnriching activity, amazingly beautiful placeWhen arriving at the Tenuta we felt like in a movie: perfectly maintained 16th century house at an absolutely amazing location, overlooking the hills and the valley. The activity was beautifully arranged to the smallest detail: plates, cutlery, cheese board, seating with a view. Beatrice is a kind host, who walked us through olive tree grove and vineyard. Tasting different varieties of olive oils is enriching. We learned and enjoyed a lot.Written 12 May 2024
- Benjamin R0 contributionsExcellent visitBeautiful scenery, clever and nice staff, and most importantly very good olive oil and red wine:) Can absolutely recommend. The organizers was also very helpful in acquiring transport for us.Written 18 April 2024
- RogerCFLui0 contributionsWonderful day at Verona vineyardOur family had wonderful memories from spending a day at Tenuta Santa Maria Valverde, cycling around the vineyard, followed by olive oil and wine tasting, with home-cooked tortellini and prosciutto, thanks to the hospitality of Nicola and Ilaria. We enjoyed the conversations and learning about Amarone and Ripasso wine-making, and hope to return again!Written 19 March 2024

- Inspire596351445720 contributionsA day to remember in the Valpolicella hills.Firstly the weather was amazing and the Winery location provides breathtaking views of the surrounding hills and mountains. The truffle hunt was excellent, a great walk through the woods down into the valley. Our guide had an amazing lively dog who found many truffles on the walk. On the return to the winery, we enjoyed a pairing of wines with cheese and meat and pasta. The wines are amazing and you enjoy them and the food in a wonderful old vaulted ceiling bar, dining lounge. All of the staff were fabulous, so helpful, polite, and chatty. A great event.Written 6 November 2023
- 880familyr0 contributionsAbsolutely stunning in every way. From the moment you arrive to every minute you spend in Santa Maria Valverde - it is time filled with knowledge, beauty and wonderful tastes. The truffle hunting experience is made special by three things: a very knowledgeable host, fantastic lively and hard working dog (Brozie) and the pasta you have afterwords with the truffles. Nothing is too much for the family who run this vineyard: from delicious food to mini lessons in wine making to the tour of the Amarone prosecution. The wine itself is out of this world. You learn a lot, you laugh a lot and you spend every minute in the most friendly and beautiful atmosphere. Special thank you to Cicillia (it was her second day working) who gave us a wealth of knowledge about the love and care that goes into making the wine. Cicillia-you were great! Thank you all very much for an experience that will stay with us for years to come!Written 13 October 2023
- sofiabB3876XD0 contributionsThe best wine tasting & most beautiful vineyard in Valpolicella! We booked a wine tasting in advance on-line and when we got there on Oct 5, it was such a fantastic place! They were just finishing the harvesting of the grapes so it was perfect timing. The lady who showed us around this magical place was very knowledgeable and new the owners/family very well. The vineyard is completely ecological so no pesticide - just natural! The wines were delicious so of course we bought some with us home. Just wish I bought more!!Written 7 October 2023
- josephvQ6021VU0 contributionsTenuta Santa Maria Valverde VisitAfter arranging bus transportation for us from Verona, our DOP Olive Oil visit was amazing. We received individualized attention from our hosts, explaining the history of the place and why it was special. The olive oil tasting was paired with 3 glasses of Tenuta Santa Maria Valverde‘s wines and a cheese and meat platter. We got to share our visit with another wonderful couple that we met during our time there. All in all, it was a highlight of our wonderful stay in Italy.Written 3 October 2023

I booked myself a tour of the vineyard followed by a wine tasting in early February. I was picked up from the train station by the owner and driven around the grounds. While you normally get to walk the grounds, weather was bad, and since I was the ONLY person on the tour that day, we agreed to stay in the car. Then I got a very in depth tour of the cellar with one their guides, and he walked me through the entire wine-making process. The wine tasting was absolutely the best part of the tour, and it remains the best tasting I've ever done. Not only was the wine superb, but they provided homemade bread, cheese, and chutney to accompany the wine. Again, it was just me on the tour that day, so I got to enjoy the tasting with personal guidance and lovely conversation from the owner and my guide. I was so hesitant to book this by myself, but I think I ended up having an even better time with just them. I would recommend this to anyone, connoisseur or not.

My husband and I visited this winery for a tour, wine and olive oil tasting. Ilaria picked us up in town and we had an informative drive back to the winery. The tastings were fantastic and generous and very graciously spaced out and we ended up spending nearly three hours there in total but the time flew by in the perfect setting. Everything was just perfect, including the food paired with the tastings. We’re looking forward to receiving our case of wine in the mail this week and would highly recommend you find the time to visit this place when you’re I. The Verona area. Ciao and grazie Ilaria and Jacopo!

We had such a lovely time. Llaria picked us up and drove us to the winery where we were greeted by her hubby and father in law. After a tour of the vineyards and explanation of the types of grapes we toured the cellars. Llaria is very passionate and knowledgeable. We then sat on the beautiful terrace overlooking Valpolicella and sampled local foods and 4 wines. Everything was set up for social distancing and we thoroughly enjoyed the food and wines. At no point did she try to sell us anything nor even mention that we could buy wine, olive oil, honey, tapenade. We spent a little over 4 hours there and I highly recommend the experience to anyone contemplating it. Fabulous and a great relaxing time.

The wine tour was outstanding. It was obvious that they are experts and passionate about their wines, processes, history. And, in fact, the wine was delicious and being paired with local sausages, cheese and their own olive oil made it really special. The location is beautiful and easily reached by local bus from Verona (to San Floriano where they pick you up). Responses to questions via email were fast. It was a really exceptional experience and highly recommended. We've been on many wine tours before in Italy and Oregon (where we are from), and this was the best one we have been on.

Absolutely stunning, our tour guide was amazing she was so lovely!! I would recommend for anyone and everyone. The people there are fantastic and make you feel really welcome. For the price you pay you get so much, in both mine and my partners opinion it was well worth the money (I would even go to say the undersell themselves!!) The views, the wine, the food you get is just superb, cant exaggerate how much we loved this experience as young travellers!

Words cannot properly express how thankful I am to the owners of Tenuta Santa Maria Valverde for letting us visit their home. I just had engaged to my girlfriend two days before we visited the vineyard and it was a great fit for our special moment.
Our heart felt thank you for sharing about their outstanding dedication to winery over generations, it's truly inspiring and a great example to us. I cannot thank you enough to the team of Tenuta Santa Maria Valverde for allowing us to see in person the tremendous love, care and craftsmanship they put on their work.
It was our most genuine italian experience during our trip and we will treasure it in remembrance!

We paid 20 euros extra per person for a private guided tour. Absolutely fantastic landscape, vineyard and lots of knowledge and information about wine production. Would definitely recommend the trip to others who are in the area. We ended up buying 18 bottles of wine to enjoy in Norway.
We will be back!

We really enjoyed the wine tasting. The host was very attentive. The way to the vineyard was easy - a 30 min bus drive from the city centre to San Florino where the host will meet you.
The history of the place and the winery is very interesting. We had 3 types of wine to taste and some snacks (a cherry mustard was delicious)
A really cozy welcoming place.
We would definitely recommend 😊

We had a lovely time at this wine tour. Location is really fantastic, what a picturesque place to have a wine tasting!
Staff were very helpful, both in organising transport to the vineyard and during the tasting/tour.
The wines themselves were tasty, although I would have maybe expected one or two more wines (we were given 3). However, this was served with lovely cheese, bread and meats which did make it better.
One minor criticism, we felt the ending of the tasting wasn’t well articulated and we were unsure what was going on and what was to happen next. As such, the bus driver arrived before we had time to buy any wine to take home!
However, we had a lovely time and would recommend to others in the future.

The views were amazing & family was very friendly. Appears to be a strongly family business. Somewhat difficult to get to if you don’t have a car - bus instructions didn’t meet with the bus station guidance, so it was a little tricky. Food offering was minimal and wine pours were minimal as well. Overall, it was fine but not as good as the many tastings we have been to in Napa.

We are sorry that the bus instructions were not accurate, usually our guests find no difficulty with these and you, honestly, are the first to have experienced this. Perhaps you found some hiccups because of the recent strikes?
Regarding the tasting, our fine wines are poured into generous glasses. However, if that is not enough you can buy more wine directly at the wine bar. Don't miss your chance to drink our amazing wines from Valpolicella!

Hi! Once you book, the vineyard will ask where you are coming from. We joined from Venezia and they provided very easy train and bus instructions to a location where they picked us up to get us to the vineyard. They then returned us to the location where they picked us up for the return trip. If you’re traveling by car, I’m sure they will also provide instructions.
Enjoy!
