- TinaM32910 contributionsAuthentic Sardinian Cooking Class: Warm Hospitality, Delicious Food, and Unforgettable MemoriesA master class in authentic Sardinian cooking. Maria Elena was a wonderful host who made us feel like part of the family. With her kindness, patience, and knowledge, we left her stunning home with some Sardinian cooking secrets that will impress everyone back home. If you’re looking for an amazing cooking experience, this would be the best choice. You will not be disappointed. Ricardo, the driver was also very knowledgeable and made the journey fly. An overall 5-star experience. For the cookery class; the patience we were shown, the level of hospitality, being made to feel part of the family in absolutely beautiful surroundings, ALL things I just couldn’t have expected! I learned a lot, had lots of fun and was made to feel welcomed into the home, all whilst eating the most beautiful food! I'm excited to try making the dishes back home, although I need so much more practice at the culurgiones!Written 12 September 2024

Our nine year old rode on the back of my husbands quad bike and loved every second of it.Written 16 August 2024

- Clemens T0 contributionsGreat tour, great experience!Really great tour, absolutely to be recommended. The guide was very nice and open, and we particularly appreciated the interesting background information about the island and local flora/history/landmarks during the stops along the island. Quads were great (and easy to handle - also for beginners) and the route was very scenic.Written 1 October 2023

- P5930MLadamm0 contributionsAmazing food and cultural immersive experience! We had an amazing time with Elena cooking, listening to music, learning about Sardinian culture and, of course, eating and drinking together. I would recommend this to anybody who wants to enjoy, learn, and have amazing conversation, made all that much easier by having cooking be the focus. What a great experience!Written 18 August 2023
- lorettag3890 contributionsFun in SardiniaWe really enjoyed this tour. We liked the keep drive through the trails. It was very adventurous. Our tour guide, Junior was awesome. He was very informative about Sardinian history and overall very fun. The trek was great down to the waterfall. We swam and really loved the scenery. We were able to move on our own timeframe since it was a private tour. Communication with Bitan Tours was great. Very responsive. Highly recommend the tour, tour company, and Junior.Written 28 June 2023
- Aslanschild20 contributionsGreat Tour, with Just One CautionHighly recommend this tour, UNLESS you have back or neck problems. In that case, just be aware: the Zodiac-style watercraft is driven speedily through significant waves for quite a distance, and passengers, particularly near the front, are slammed up and down quite a bit. I didn't mind this at all, in fact I enjoyed it, until one particularly swift, heavy slam-down jarred my neck and it felt a lot like whiplash. It hurt for a few days, and I worried the damage might be longer-lasting. It doesn't seem to be, although I still feel it from time to time. (Pro tip: Sit near the back if you want to be sure this doesn't happen to you. You won't have as good a view, but you'll be safer.) In other news, the caves are gorgeous and the crystal clear water is a spectacular blue-green. There are two stops for swimming (snorkeling if you have your own gear)--though the water was pretty cool, and there didn't seem to be any of the advertised "googles" available, LOL. We four didn't go in, though others did, and I somewhat envied them. Our van driver was friendly, didn't speak much English, but was happy to take the extra time to share a tuna fish lunch with us at the little beachside restaurant on our return from the boat ride. We were picked up at our cruise dock in Cagliari promptly, and returned there well in time to get back on board. It was just us four in the van, which was nice. Since there weren't any tours quite like this offered by our ship, we were very happy to find this one, and at a fraction of the cost of the (much shorter) ship tours.Written 22 June 2023

- LizG7140 contributionsRoad Scholar group hiking in the AzoresThis guided tour of two islands in the Azores (Terceira and Sao Miguel) was a terrific value and all-around excellent experience. Led by UK-national, Daniel Torres, and several Azorean guides, this Road Scholar package lasted 11 days and was geared toward an "older" crowd (60+). Beginning on Terceira, highlights included a stay in a charming boutique hotel in the UNESCO Heritage City of Angra do Heroismo, within walking distance of scenic gardens, a protected bay, and the hiking trails on Monte Brazil. Nearly all meals were included and were of good quality and variety, with special appeal to seafood lovers. Our daily schedule typically included a short (never more than 45 minutes) bus ride to a hiking trail at a caldera or seaside cliffs, hiking for 2-4 hours with guides and commentary on earpieces, and a late lunch either back at the hotel or as a picnic. Afternoons usually included leisure time with suggestions for local museums or other attractions. Trails were easy to moderately challenging and did not involve changes in elevation over about 1000 feet. On the downside, our group was larger than we anticipated (23), but we often split into smaller subgroups (e.g., for the hikes), and our bus had a large capacity so we could spread out, with our backpacks and gear not in our laps. Also, with so many congenial fellow travelers, there was always someone new to get to know at meals! Our leader, Daniel, was outstandingly caring and accommodated everyone's varying needs regarding diet and physical ability. The volcanoes, thermal pools, calderas, cow-dotted hillsides, stone walls, and quaint villages provided something new every day. Weather can be variable, so our itinerary was flexible, and we were very fortunate to have clear days on which to take in the higher elevation sights. Wildlife is limited, because these are quite isolated islands. However, there are some endemic bird species to watch for, and one can see lizards and even bats during the daytime. If you are very lucky, you could spot a whale from shore. The not-to-miss spot, in my opinion, whether you stay on the premises or not, is the Terra Nostra Garden Hotel's thermal pool and botanical garden. The pool is huge and naturally heated to 100 degrees. The garden has 31 acres of winding paths, grottoes, streams, forests, cycads, fern trees, and just about any plant you can imagine. Eden indeed!Written 19 June 2023
- Jet099026127380 contributionsOutstanding Quad tourThe tour was great and the guide was super nice. 🙂 we saw secret places we have never seen even we have visited sardinia several times before. We had the pleasure to see an outstanding sunset with beautiful colors. The pick up service was so nice, we had no effort to drive to the quads. We are looking forward to repeat it next year again.👍Written 6 June 2023

Caves really spectacular, the two guides are very prepared and courteous. Inside the caves you can breathe a special atmosphere, you can feel the value of time that built this wonder.

We visited several caves in our past holidays but like this.... never. We are not experts on the subject in question but as virgins of speleology we would say.... VISIT IT ABSOLUTELY.
