About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- 816cormaco0 contributionsIrish Cyclists with DolcevitaFifteen of us Irish cyclists travelled to Sant'Antioco for a week staying at Muma Hostel (super location). We hired a mix of road bikes and e-bikes for the week. Dolcevita turned up on the Monday morning at the agreed time with all the bikes prepped and name badges on each. Great Cube Bikes in great condition. Likewise they were collected six days later with great efficiency and courtesy. Cormac - DublinWritten 23 October 2024
- pvandnv0 contributionsAn absolute pleasure!Hired a road bike from these guys, and the whole experience was a pleasure from start to end. They were accommodating about an accident I had before travelling to Sardinia, and changed my hire dates. The bike was 'good quality', and included all the extras that I shouldn't have bought from home! (puncture repair kit, bottle etc.) They arranged drop off and collection efficiently, and were generally super friendly throughout. Thanks - I have no doubt I will be back in touch next time I visit Sardinia!Written 6 September 2023
- F8250HOnancya0 contributionsA fabulous trip w/DolcevitaA group of 4 of us did Dolcevita’s self-guided trip, “A Mine of Memories” in late June-early July. Our trip was great! We enjoyed the routes (easy navigation) as well as the beauty and people of Sardinia! Alessandro and his team were very responsive and accommodating and helped ensure a wonderful trip.Written 17 July 2023
- alisonm9190 contributionsAmazing adventure- highly recommend it.Amazing trip- Highly recommend DolceVita Bike Tours We just finished self guided Sardinia Classic bike tour. What an adventure From the incredible scenery and vistas of the Costa Verde and Costa Sud, to the wonderful people of Sardinia who welcomed us and even gave us shelter in their homes in a thunder storm. The highlight of the trip for us was staying at the Agriturismos with their kind hospitality and authentic Sardinian cuisine. We used ebikes (strongly recommend for this trip) , their electric battery never ran out, fairly comfortable, very easy to use. Navigation with the App Ride GPS- a game changer with voice and visual navigation all off your phone mounted on the bike. (Just make sure you have a phone extra battery pack as GPS can drain the phone battery)Dolcevita looked after us so well, from smooth airport transfer, luggage transfers, and easy to contact. - Julia H0 contributionsMine of MemoriesJust back from a wonderful week long trip from Cabras in the West to Pula in the South East - Mine of Memories - a mix of on and off road. We had a fabulous time - loved the very varied landscape, particularly the white sandy beaches and crystal clear waters in the south. Days 2 and 3 had a couple of big climbs, so we enjoyed some R&R on the beach later in the week. Everything superbly organised by Dolce Vite - many thanks!Written 8 May 2023
- AnthonyB49460 contributionsA challenging and rewarding tour of SardiniaI took a full tour of Sardinia starting in Olbia and ending in Pula, south of Cagliari. It was a stunning and scenic trip, with so much good food along the way. Some towns have less to do than others. Get the route sheet and plan ahead. Make sure you have reservations for dinner at the agritourismos for dinner and that you examine the daily route. I was surprised to learn that one day would include 2 ferry rides, another day packed all the climbing into the second half of the day. The self-guided tour came with sparing notes about what to expect. My bike was a very fun race geometry bike that fit me perfectly, but the front shifters were not in great shape when they gave me the bike. The shifter broke after the first day of rainy riding. They were able to replace the bike, but I had an extra day of riding where I had to shift manually with my feet that I would have preferred not to do. The accommodations were really lovely, all my hosts were so nice and friendly. There was so much delicious homemade food on this trip, I'm fairly certain it was calorie neutral. The routes were challenging. The full Transardinia route was 380 miles / 600km and over 29k ft of climbing (just a notch over an Everest) over 7 days. That said, they were beautiful routes with mostly very well maintained roads and epic vistas. Some incredible descents as well as climbs. Definitely a good training week.Written 7 May 2023
- T8325OEjaner0 contributionsExtremely well organisedAlessandro had organised a brilliant self guided bike ride within the parameters of our requests with interesting places to stay and routes taking in an amazing variety of scenery. He was also extremely helpful in meeting our specific requests and provided bikes of good quality which required the minimum of maintenance.Written 25 October 2022
- stanatvail20 contributionsA wonderful week of cyclingJust finished the Mine of Memories tour October 2022. This is a very good tour and tour company. Beware of the mountains, look at the elevation gain as well as the mileage. Once you have a good grasp of the bike riding involved go for it. My wife and I were able to work with Dolcevita Bike Tours to add additional days off and customize our itinerary. With their local knowledge they helped make a perfect vacation. There are so many fun parts of this tour. The farm stays are wonderful. Everything clean. The food is plentiful and the very best you'll have. Our first night the food kept coming in true Italian fashion. There were a dozen plates of food that were served in one sitting. Good vegetables, anti-pasta, pasta, breads, meat, dessert, Limoncello after dinner drink, red and white wine and more. That's what you want when done cycling! Dinners not included but very reasonably priced. The routes take you through the mountains and along the coast, it is so very beautiful. Traffic was almost nonexistent and always felt safe on the road. Luggage transfers were wonderful, on time every time. Thank you, StanWritten 17 October 2022

- 714jeremyp0 contributionsDangerous and dishonestyWe used the services of Dolcevita Bike Tours in August 2021. We were a family, 4 people. We rented for a week of vacations, course + 4 electric bikes. The quality of the equipment was quite poor: the chain on the bike jumped (dangerous), the equipment and the map could not be fixed. The security was not present at all: no helmet at disposal. Our route built by the agency could have been of good quality, but selling this product at this time of heat, without helmet at disposal and this quality clearly puts in danger. Without forgetting the dishonesty of the person in charge who sends a cab (provided for in the contract) for only one person when there are 4 of us. Additional costs at our expense, of course. You will have understood, AVOID!Written 5 February 2022
- 362luciani0 contributionsGreat experience!I rented an electric bike to go on the west coast from Cagliari to Alghero. The quality of the bike and its endurance were amazing. I used the bike for about 450 km going very steep hills and long tours with high speed. The battery was fantastic, lasting even for 120-130 km ! When I will return to Sardinia I will contact Dolcevita again. Wonderful memories! :)Written 6 October 2021
- 11brenc0 contributionsSelf guided mine of memories tourSimply Fantastic. From beginning to end the holiday was great ... tough but great. We had taken guided tours before but this time we wanted to go more at our own pace. There were a lot of riders on both guided and self guided tours when we arrived at the first (fantastic !) hotel but even so sorting the equipment and getting everyone kitted out went well. We had an easy ride the 1st day to get ready then we were off !! Sardinia is a lovely place to visit ... but be prepared for some serious hills !! Every day was different and we met some really nice people. We would highly recommend it and DolceVita as a company ... but be prepared for some long days in the saddle and for some pretty long, steep hills !!!Written 2 March 2020
- bjb1230 contributionsStunning route- the best yetWe spend ages looking at different cycling trips and we’ve done a fair few overseas cycle tours. Not quite sure why we picked Sardinia, hadn’t visited before and hadn’t used DolceVita either, but we’re so pleased that we did! Company swiftly answered any queries we had, provided excellent directions and transported luggage efficiently. They are also VERY GOOD VALUE compared to more well known operators. Sardinia has been an eye opener to our group of 4. We have cycled through tremendous scenery with outstanding views of the SW coastline. Frequent stopping opportunities at deserted coves and beaches. Some tough ascents but nicely contoured roads meant we weren’t tempted to get off and push once. Sardinia seems a very friendly welcoming island; we’ve had one of the best cycling weeks ever.Written 28 September 2019
- Alexander P0 contributionsScenic views and tasty foodI knew it would be good, but did not expect it to be so good! The three things that I liked most about a tour organized by Dolce Vita are: 1. A thoroughly designed route that passed mostly on non-busy country roads through multiple microclimatic zones per day that featured beautiful beaches, pine, olive, and eucalyptus groves, sand dunes, and vineyards. (I doubt I would be able to plot such a good itinerary by myself.) 2. A half board supplement (not included into a basic rate) — the restaurants, the quantity and the quality of the dinner courses were just outstanding! 3. Welcomeness of Marco from Dolce Vita who provided a detailed tour introduction (I did not anticipate the in-person briefing as my itinerary did not begin on a regular start day of a tour!) and friendliness of hotels. I enjoyed riding without looking at a GPS navigator by following a supplied roadbook (route notes) attached to a handlebar, which I was studying and carefully marking out in evenings or mornings. I did not carry a backpack with me, as my rented bike was equipped with an easily detachable handlebar bag and a spacious pannier on the rear carrier. My overall philosophy was not to rush, enjoy the views, take photos at every turn of the road, have stops for swimming in the sea, take the detours suggested in the route notes and have picnics there! I also thank myself for: 1. Always having enough drinking water with me. 2. Having a plan for a lunch. (I carried some ham and cheese from grocery stores. I used to wash in the sea the fresh fruits and vegetables that I was buying from greengrocers and local farmers as I passed them by.) 3. Departuring from hotels rather early in the mornings and keeping track of time remaining till the sunset. I took a leisure cycling “A mine of memories” self-guided tour in the first week of October 2018 and the weather was very comfortable. If you decide to take this one, be ready for the zchallenging up-hills at the end of the second and in the middle of the third days.Written 25 November 2018
- suzanne_baal0 contributionsSelf guided 10 day cycling SardegnaThe scenery was beautiful and the accomodations were basic but clean and most were nice. Breakfasts were almost all very good. The route distances were reasonable and the riding was good. Planning the trip, the tour operators were responsive and helpful in answering questions. The bikes were also good. There were some days we were expecting to be able to get lunch en route and weren't able to, as places were closed due to it being later in the season. Seemed like that would have been helpful to know in advance or plan the route around. During the trip, the tour operators were slightly less responsive to email questions, although we could have called if it was urgent and didn't. The island was beautiful and cycling was good.Written 20 October 2018

We rented ebikes from Dolcevita, beginning in Olbia and traveling along the northern, western and southern coasts to Pula. The route was fantastic and our ebikes worked out very well. The people at Dolcevita were very accommodating and made every effort to make our trip work for us. I would recommend Dolcevita to anyone wishing to bike in Sardinia.

Fabulous place to ride a bike. The scenery, people, and food were excellent. The tour industry is still recovering from the restrictions in 2020-2022. Given the number of restaurant and services closures, Dolcevita did an excellent job of working through the changes. I would also like to thank them for the way they handled our booking, initially set for 2020, and accommodated several changes as the travel restrictions changed in 2022. They are obviously in the business of looking after their customers.

The Transardinia self-guided bike tour was amazing. The route design was exceptional and challenging. The scenery was outstanding. The lodging accommodations were varied and provided authentic cultural and culinary experiences. Some of the roads were rough, but everything was manageable on the road bikes we rented. We personally enjoy climbing, but if you don’t, look for a route with flatter terrain. The routes kept us on infrequently traveled back roads. The GPS tracks that were provided were spot on. Our luggage was waiting for us every afternoon upon arrive but one where it arrived an hour later. From the limited information we received it wasn’t the fault of Dolcevita. We would absolutely recommend this tour if you want to experience some of the best cycling Sardinia has to offer.

I rented a road bike from Dolcevita and was very happy with the entire experience! Online booking was easy, communication with the team was clear, and the pick-up/drop-off service was convenient. The bike itself was high quality and in excellent condition. Sardinia was a beautiful place to cycle, and I would love to take a tour with them next time.

We did the Transardinia cycle starting from Olbia & finishing in Pula. We rented road bikes & had our luggage transferred to each hotel/BB as we traveled. The bikes were great and the routes fantastic. The hotels/BB were diverse as was the landscape & it was great fun arriving at a different location each day. Everything worked to plan & Dolchevita provided very good support answering all questions promptly & were also flexible. We arranged ab extra day at a resort to have a longer rest. I would highly recommend this type of holiday and Dolchevita who provide a fantastic service.

We did the 3 day 4 night SW Sardinia cycling trip. It was perfectly organised from start to finish - great pre arrival info, lovely touches like map and water bottle, very informative cycling notes. Good change of views and terrain. We are 4 non cyclists- but active in other sports and 1 cyclist and we found it not necessarily easy but not difficult- just right. The teens were happy with 3 days of cycling and were glad to have a rest. We adults could have cycled more! Would highly recommend and if we get the chance, will do another tour.

I hired a trekking bike and drove all the way from Olbia, following the coast, to Cagliari. The route was amazing, the bike was in top shape and I got really good advise from the agency. They even advised me along the trip with WhatsApp. Biking Sardinia is absolutely fabulous with the combination of great hidden beaches, good roads and great people. I hired the bike with two bags which gave me plenty of storage and all the freedom to go wherever I desires. The highlight of my year!

I used Dolce Vita for luggage transfer and bike rental in October. Everything went great. Luggage was always ready for me at my next stop and the condition of the road bike was excellent. Communication with Alessandro prior to my trip was enough for me to book their services. I highly recommend using Dolce Vita on a trip to Sardinia. Thanks again Alessandro!
