- laurar7050 contributionsUnexpected, amazing tour with delicious lunchWe went for an olive oil tasting. Beatriz, our guide, was amazing. She knew all about the farm, which is also used to teach young kids about olive growing. The farm is doing wine, also. The cost was $50, but we got a wine tasting, olive oil tasting, and a great spread of food that was fresh and delicious. After that lunch, we did not need dinner. The tour showed us about olive trees and harvesting, and wine making. Beatriz answered all our questions. You should do this tour-it was well worth it!Written 3 November 2024

- H5919HRmargareta0 contributionsInto The VinesResting at the foot of Monte Bonifato, on Sicily's most beautiful northwestern side are two vibrant cities, called "Alcamo & Partinico".Both cities, marked by picturesque arresting sites, of their own. But between the two, under the beautiful hot Sicilian sun, embraced by Sicily's stunning undefinable nature of hillside landscapes, scenery, wondrous blue seas lies the “AUGUSTALI FARM"! A exquisite & lovely Sicilian Charm as can be, just as it’s owner “Finella Ammoscato”. It was Sept.1, I wanted to visit Augustali. I spoke to “Finella” a kind sweet Lady, but it was unfortunate when she said there were no tours that day. As I wanted to thank her for the call & say bye She made me smile big. She told me although theres no tours, she will be out at the farm to late and it be a pleasure if I come. She’d happily show me the farm, even with prior arrangements & reservations they had. How very nice of her to invite, I thanked her and she said She’ll meet me 5pm. I arrived earlier, because I was so excited. I arrived, got out of my car & laid eyes up onto this beautiful place of Harmony. Every direction I looked was beauty. A farm enclosed by a mesmerizing vineyard, a great Restaurant with closed in & covered open terrace seating to dine, a separate wine bar room, and a big covered open dance floor. Simply amazing. It’s enclosed by Olive groves, grand romance like, dreamy pretty green aroma garden & lawn, with various different trees, plants, flowers, their incredible marvelous Wine Cellar, not to forget their sweet fun, very enjoyable, different animals. I’ve been to Sicily before, this was my first time tho to a Vineyard in Sicily. I was at the barns, becoming friends with the animals, as I heard a happy energetic voice calling my name. I walked torts the voice calling, when I saw a beautiful lady with a big smile & comforting welcoming voice. The wife of Augustali Owner & Winemaker, Owner & Farmer herself & a beekeeper “Finella Ammoscato”. Finella, as she introduced herself, & my thought how unique, that’s beautiful! She placed like a little chest pocket around my neck and a wineglass in it, said it’s for you, Welcome to Augustali”, in a warm kind way. All I did is smile. As we reached the table, she introduced me to & poured “Catarratto”wine in my glass to taste. I love & only drink Italian Wine & always look for sicilian wine, but there’s few where I live. It was so exciting to finally taste wine that’s in bottles of the winemaker who puts it there. That’s a honor! We took a stroll through the garden, torts the vineyard but not without Finella taken few very nice memorable photos. At the Vineyard, it was so much fun! Smiling humorous Finella took a Video while I was introducing the grapes & tasting them. Such pleasure with her. Her smiles made me smile & laugh. Time for a photo of both of us. Next on list, their Wine Cellar. Omg, …she opened the Cellar door & as I was about to step in I could already smell & inhaled the aromatic amazing scents off wonders & secrets of Augustali's winemaking. It was like magic, enchanting. Finella, being so caring and passionate, shared with & showed me, every detail & step that comes with making & producing wine. So grateful to her. Little did I know of the sensational incredible Winemaking etc. She made me feel really welcome, comfortable & special, doing & showing me things, which generally wouldn’t be shown, or just to family & very special friends. I gained great insight & education from her. It’s phenomenal. I can say, by the end of tour I was and am now able to understand more about their winemaking & wines, which comes with & takes a lot of care patience, passion, love, time, that can be challenging. After the Cellar she showed me how & why the grapes are resting in the sun! From here it was off back to the restaurant. The sun was setting, it was time to be served and taste the authentic delicious flavors of Sicily and Augustali’s cuisine. As Finella served me dinner, I couldn’t believe my eyes. I only smiled & said with big eyes,” so much”. All these great good looking & smelling, appetizing flavorful authentic specialties, I knew it be delicious. She laughed & said enjoy! I can’t remember alone how to pronounce the names, but know it tasted fantastic. All the good looking & smelling authentic specialties, served with good bread & sweet smelling tasty red wine “Syrah” & most made with love of Augustali’s Chef Here a majestic place led by Winemaker Vincenzo Bambini & his gorgeous wife & beekeeper, "Finella".A great helpful staff . also. I experienced, felt, tasted, smelled saw real authentic Sicilian traditions: passion, quality, wines, fun, excitement and Sicilian specialties that are sublime.. Thank you Finella Thank you "Augustali for the excellent hospitality, and perfect day. I hope I bring Inspiration that will want you to, set out on a brilliant journey to "Augustali’s" should you visit Sicily.. One great lesson I was taught: You can't understand Wine & Winemaking without standing in the place that it grows! And the 5 S’s: See, Swirl, Sniff, Sip and Savor.! - JoelE600 contributionsBeautiful setting, delicious food, warm hospitalityAn authentic rural Sicilian welcome awaited us, with a tour of the olive grove and vineyard, followed by delightful antipasti with olive oil and wine tasting. Despite turning up without booking on a Sunday, with very little italian, the hostess was kind enough to run an event for us. The farm is quiet and feels a polar opposite to the bustling coastal towns of North West Sicility. The tour was interesting, we learnt about the different olive varieties and methods of harvest and oil production. In the vineyard we saw the vines and were able to taste some of the grapes straight off the vine. On turning up, we were a little concerned that no tours would be possible, as the only activity was some set up for an event. We persisted, and asked, and eventually made contact with the hostess who spoke excellent English and offered us a tour. There was a bit of sitting around, but this added to the expeirnece of feeling like a personal guest on a tour of the family farm, rather than a slick tourist trap event. I probably wouldn't reccomend if you are in a hurry, but with time to enjoy it was a beautiful setting, and with tasty food and great wine to enjoy we were in no hurry to leave.Written 30 August 2024
- Pete_Pierce0 contributionsPeace and tranquiltyWe were 4 people that rolled up here unannounced on the off chance we could experience some of the wine production and tase and buy some wines. We hadnt booked but they were quick to accomadate our desires and made us a custom tour for us. We were shown around the vinyards and the production and on the way given both wines and grapes to taste. We were given a very detailed explanation of the way that their farm and winery operate. Then they had more wines to taste and some accompanying food. I cant remember how much the cost for all this was but i remember we were impressed by the good price considering what we had experienced. In hindsight we should have booked in advance but we were impressed by how accomodating they were. This would be a great place for a family to spend a day as the farm had lots of animals and the gardens were wonderfull.Written 28 August 2024
- gloriavstar0 contributionsPalermo, don't do the carriage rides They are a scamThe price they charge is outrageous!!!! After following me for quite a way, he said how about 60 euros for the hour. The man who approached me said his father was the driver. The ride lasted 25 minutes!! When I got out the carriage, he asked for more money. When I said no, I got abused. But wait, it gets better. I went for a walk and decided I couldn't let this go. I eventually found him and he said something to another driver who proceeded to attack me. He only stopped because I started yelling Police at the top of my voice Be aware, I am a 70 yo woman who uses a walker. He knocked my classes off my face and tried to step on them. Then the driver tried to run away leading his horse and carriage, which crashed into another carriage, which as you can imagine, that made me very happy 😄😄😄Written 27 August 2024
- Stufow0 contributionsFantastic wines, food and peopleAbsolutely fantastic experience at this vineyard. We were met by Beatrice who was so welcoming and friendly. Beatrice then took us on a full tour of the vineyard - explaining things as we went. She was fabulous to listen to and gave us true insights into the workings of the vineyard. Afterwards we had a marvelous lunch with lovely wines. I would highly recommend!Written 9 July 2024
- BernardBonnici0 contributionsRecommended experienceAmazing and highly recommended experience. We were welcomed by the friendliest of hosts…Beatriz and our tour started with a visit to the animals. Kids really enjoyed feeding and learning about the various animals on the farm. We then spent a few minutes learning about tools used by our ancestors which was followed by a letter to Santa Claus and a visit to Santa’s house (kids loved it). Our visit ended with a visit to the winery and some amazingly good wine tasting. As stated above we highly recommend a visit to this farm.Written 30 December 2023
- tamaral9970 contributionsA fantastic and unique experienceVisiting Bio Fattoria Augustali for the Olive Harvest Experience was possibly the most unique and enjoyable experience of our month in Europe! We drove there in our hire car, to be treated with chilled wine from the farm’s vineyards before trying out some traditional olive harvesting methods. The visit finished with an amazing feast of local specialties (vegan option provided) and tasting of freshly pressed oils and a visit to a two week old baby donkey. Everyone in our group ranging from 25 to 60 had an amazing experience and the staff were so delightful. A real change from the usual tourist attractions and well worth the effort to get there.Written 3 November 2023
- lowrey5050 contributionsAuthentic Sicilian ExperienceMy wife and I had a wonderful time here, the tour of the vineyard was fantastic and Beatriz was extremely knowledgeable and a wonderful host! The brunch we had was also delicious, to which overall it was very much a true Sicilian experience that I would highly recommend!Written 25 September 2023
- Sam M0 contributionsExcellent wine on a beautiful farmWe spent the late after we spent the late afternoon on this beautiful farm. Our host Finella was very friendly and spoke to us in English about the wine making process. The wines were wonderful and the food which included beef cheese, vegetables and olives was sumptuous. I would thoroughly recommend a visit to this farm if you are in Sicily and you are a fan of good wine. the setting is beautiful and they have recently built a new building for the winery which is in traditional Sicilian style. You won’t be able to resist buying a few bottles of the wine for yourself after the visit.Written 26 August 2023
- hedy_130 contributionsGreat time!I had the most wonderful time on this tour. The hostess was super cool, food was really delicious and the wine was delish! I read the reviews and they don't give this place justice! It was a fantastic time! Only bad thing is the Google map is SO WRONG! I had to ask a local to give me the address because I drove for almost 30 minutes and was late so they rebooked my time for later that evening. This is by no way the fault of the vineyard. Just Google maps SUCK!!Written 9 December 2022
- wheatfields0110 contributionsDon’t waste your timeDon’t waste your time! We reserved for the Sunday lunch. We arrived to the property at 11:25 as the activities were supposed to start at 11:30. No one welcomed us or gave us any information. We waited around for ONE hour without anyone telling us anything. At 12:30, we asked when the wine tour or lunch was supposed to start, and they said 1PM. They also told us, upon us asking, that there is NO ENGLiSH tour even though on their website, it clearly states English and Italian as the languages spoken for the Sunday lunch and I made the reservation in English. So, unless you are Italian speaking and have time to sit around in hot weather with a bottle of water for over an hour, I suggest go somewhere else. So many other vineyards around, what a waste of our time.Written 26 June 2022

Oct 2021 • Couples
We had a wonderful afternoon with Beatriz on the farm! We had booked the winery tour and lunch. When we arrived there was one other couple who had booked the olive picking and lunch, so we all did both! It was great fun, with a beautiful Sicilian lunch with wine, followed by olive picking and olive oil tasting. One of the best days of our holiday. The only issue is the link for location in the booking email is incorrect, brings you to the wrong address 10 minutes away.
