About
You will start your tour by visiting the thermal baths, where you can still perceive the enveloping warmth of the calidariums or the roar of the water of the Gela river that fills the frigidarium.
Thanks to the beauty and vividness of the mosaics, you will feel part of the history represented in them so much that you will think you can hear the screams of the audience watching the quadriga competitions.
You will visit the guest apartment, where you can admire scenes of daily life such as fishing, hunting and banquets. You will then move to the public area of the Villa where the owner received his "clientes", making them pass through the astonishing ambulatory of the Great Hunt: a gigantic geographical map of the Roman Empire.
You will complete your tour by visiting the private apartments of the domina and the dominus.

Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- dchoate990 contributionsExcellent day with Mariarita! We had chef Mariarita and had a great time cooking in her beautiful home overlooking the Neapolis Archeological Park. We made homemade cavatelli, swordfish, salad, and tiramisu. Everything was perfect - highly recommended.Written 20 February 2025
- Q2923FVrobertw0 contributionsSee both Ortigia and the Archaeoligical Park in one tourThe 2 visit package is a very efficient way to see the 2 main attractions. Both are really worth the visits. We used the local bus from the Archaeological Park to transfer to Ortigia for part two. After that we then had the rest of the day to explore on our own.Written 1 January 2025

- darrinnm20130 contributionsFamily tripEnza was a great tour guide. Very knowledgeable and attentive. Our tour was in English and Italian and she had great information in both languages. We would highly recommend Enza as a guide!Written 8 November 2024
- 753travelb0 contributionsnot an English only tour - keep looking for another providerOur guide was basic; the group was 1/2 in Italian and 1/2 in English (contrary to being advertised as an ENGLISH Tour) which meant that lots of the information given in one language was not always repeated in English. It was a struggle to hear what was being said in English as the guide spoke very softly and kept turning her head in different directions. audio headset would have greatly improved the experience. Questions from some of the English visitors were left unanswered, which was not the case with to the other group. Frustrating, feeling that the tour was misrepresented as being IN ENGLISH.Written 5 November 2024
- 356marlanea0 contributionsA step back in time in Italian CultureIt’s a lovely intimate theatre that showcases traditional Marionette Puppetry. The Marionettes are 4-5 ft tall. The dialogue is in Italian but before the show starts, the plot is explained in English. The show is 45 mins with no intermission- a little long considering you can’t really follow the dialogue- so I wouldn’t recommend it for young children. If you hang onto your theatre ticket, you can go into the Puppet Museum- about a 5 min walk down the road- for 1 Euro to see the history of this art form. I’d suggest that instead of the “ behind the scenes” option.Written 21 October 2024
- livintotravel0 contributionsBest afternoon experience (especially if foul weather)This trip was SPECTACULAR from start to finish. ETTORE, our chef and guide escorted us on a leisurely stroll through the market educating us on the importance of fresh and local ingredients for our subsequent meal. We tasted fresh oyster, capers, prickly fruit, limoncello, virtually anything we wanted, purchasing all the ingredients for our meal as we moved along. As a group of 8, we settled on a meal of caponata with both fish and meatballs. At Ettore’s suggestion, we also chose pistachio pesto with spaghetti. The cooking demonstration took place at an exquisite Oceanside restaurant where we soaked in the expertise of an experienced and local chef, juxtaposed with city and ocean views. The meal was replete with Prosecco and bountiful local vino rosso. Plan on a 5 hour experience but every minute full of a multi-sensory experience. Bravo!Written 18 October 2024
- TejalR150 contributionsWonderful private tour worth every pennyOur guide, Rossana was wonderful and we really loved our private tour which felt like a leisurely walk amongst the temples. She communicated fluently in English and answered all of our numerous questions on the temples, Sicily history and culture.Written 16 October 2024
- lynncB8762CT0 contributionsFabulous visit to market & cooking class with Ettore. We had a blast & l learned so much from this warm, friendly chef!We shopped at the market and then were taxi to the restaurant where we prepared the recipes, enjoyed local wines, and ate together. Very memorable time!Written 14 October 2024
- DrRad0 contributionsGood… butThe tour began on time and took the thirty or so people that comprised our group to what our guide said was about 40% of the park’s sites. He was quite knowledgeable but his English was so heavily accented and he spoke so fast that a number of people just gave up and stopped wearing the earbuds. (I usually do pretty well with cutting through accents; not this time.) As an ironic side note, the listening devices worked really well! Also, it is billed as a two-hour tour (cue the theme music to Gilligan’s Island). But because there were two Italian-language-only people on the tour, the guide had to say everything in both languages. Result: a three-hour tour. Just be aware. Ends with a 20 minute on your own walk back to the starting point.Written 8 October 2024
- alexr7810 contributionsSuper unique and interesting experience only found in Sicily! We had a fantastic show and backstage tour of the traditional Sicilian Puppet Theater. It was such a unique and wonderful experience! The show was in Italian, but the host described to us the story in English so that we would have an idea of what was going on. Even though we didn't understand the language, there was still a lot to take in and appreciate during the 1 hour show. We were amazed at how well the actors moved the puppets and how detailed everything was. And even with the language barrier, we still enjoyed every minute. After the show, the actors showed us backstage to see how the puppets are made and controlled, and told us more of the history behind the Pupper Theater. This was a really amazing and unique experience - highly recommend!Written 26 September 2024

- LydiaJ8430 contributionsThe best way to visit this historic site. Our guide Mario was first rate. Knowledgeable and he pitched the information at the right level throughout. We had 27 in our group which was a nice number. The audio equipment worked well. Plenty of opportunities for photos without disruption to the flow of the visit. Excellent value.Written 19 September 2024
