About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- RicTheWanderer0 contributionsA wonderful day in TuscanyIt was an amazing tour, very well thought out and organized. The tour consists of 3 cities in Tuscany, starting from the charming village of Volterra, which offers stunning views and has a rich history. We also had the chance to learn about the alabaster production by visiting a local shop. The second stop was Pisa, where we had time to explore the famous Piazza dei Miracoli and the Leaning Tower. Last, but not least, we went to Lucca, known for its elegance and its medieval soul, here we tasted one of the specialties of the city, the Buccellato. We enjoyed the fact that it was a small group tour, that gives you the chance to have a much more complete experience and really feel the atmposhere and the history of the destinations. I recommend the tour to whoever is interested in discovering hidden gems of Tuscany.Written 21 March 2025
- Passport6974960 contributionsTop Day Out in Tuscany!! Don’t Miss It!This tour was truly an unforgettable experience. As an Australian traveling through Tuscany, I was eager to see the highlights, and this tour did not disappoint! The small group setting made it feel so personal, which was fantastic. Tour leader was not only knowledgeable but also incredibly friendly, providing us with fascinating history and insights into each of the three cities. Pisa was, of course, awe-inspiring – standing next to the Leaning Tower in person was surreal. But the real surprise was Lucca – the place is a beaut. I took a wander through the old town and had a proper go at the local treat – buccellato. If you haven’t tried this little gem, you’re missing out. It's a traditional cake and trust me, it’s delish – I’m still thinking about it! Volterra was a real hidden gem, with its stunning medieval architecture and breathtaking views. The tour was perfectly paced, allowing enough time to explore each place without feeling rushed. The comfortable transportation was another bonus, especially as we traveled between locations. This day trip was the perfect way to see so much of Tuscany in a short time. Highly recommend this tour for anyone looking to experience the best of Tuscany in a relaxed and enjoyable way. Worth every penny!Written 21 March 2025
- 807alicep0 contributionsA Fantastic Tour Through Hidden Gems of Tuscany! We had an amazing full-day tour exploring Pisa, Lucca, and Volterra, with a special visit to an alabaster workshop. It was a fantastic experience, perfectly organized, and a great way to see some of Tuscany’s more unusual and less touristy spots.Written 21 March 2025
- alex h0 contributionsAmazing day!Amazing day trip, we visited 3 stops starting off strong with Volterra, a real hidden gem. Experience there was amazing, we also visited the alabaster laboratory. Our second stop was Pisa, a must when visiting Italy, I really enjoyed it. Lucca was the last city we visited, it was my favorite stop of the day. - Relax8226080 contributionsGreat experience! We took the train in from Florence and the pick up location was a 10 min walk. Easy breezy … We had 4 hours on our own. Great lunch spot but only meats and cheese. The wine was amazing and you can order additional food at a cost. Driving in Europe is different from the states, drivers are aggressive so you must be comfortable driving the scooters. Overall great experience.Written 20 March 2025

The first stop, Volterra, fascinated me thanks to the history and thanks to the beautiful views. Then we went to Pisa where we had time to eat independently and visit the Miracles Square. Last, but not least, Lucca! A beautiful city! It left me speechless! A city full of history where you can walk on the ancient walls. Beautiful day! - Lauren C0 contributionsConvenient but a little crowded. We enjoyed our time exploring the towns and having tastings at the winery, but I should have paid attention to the maximum number of guests in the tour group set at 50. Our group was completely full, so we ended up feeling like a herd of sheep. The tour was also bilingual (English and Spanish). Just some things I did not realize when I booked it. Guess it was my fault for not paying attention. I was hoping for a more intimate tour. Still, lots of good info and we enjoyed it the best we could.Written 17 March 2025

The tour was really good, our guide was amazing and the wines were really good. We tried 3 wines at each winery.
The first winery was kind of cheap with the amount of wine, they gave an amount enough for just about two sips. The second winery Poggio Amarelli was out of this world, they gave almost a full cup for each of their 3 wines and Tomaso the sommelier was super funny and full ok knowledge. The only down side of it is that I picked the tour in Spanish but there is no info shared in Spanish once you get to the wineries because the people there don’t speak Spanish (it is included in the terms and conditions of the tour, so they are super direct with it), but as a suggestion it would be good if you share some written notes before the tour about the process or if the guide in the bus shares more info not just about the region and itinerary, but also about the wine process itself while on the way to the wineries. Last but not least, to everyone reading; this is not a tour for little kids, so if you are traveling with small kids and you don’t know how to control your own kid, please do not take this tour and avoid disrupting the group.

Dear Luiza,
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience on the Chianti Wine Tour from Florence! We're thrilled to hear that you enjoyed the tour and found our guide amazing, as well as the wines exceptional.
We appreciate your feedback regarding the wine portions at the first winery, and we will certainly pass your comments along to ensure that our guests have a consistently enjoyable experience. Wonderful guides with Alexandra and Messimo our driver. Weather was perfect for December, sunny and about 57F. Great ride in the mountains, scenery was so picturesque. Our first stop was a small winery where the young lady met us at the drop off area right by the vineyards. Perfect setting to start off with. So many photos were taken that my wife got the perfect photo of us ‘Under the Tuscan Sun’. We tasted wine, bought wine to ship home, and were entertained by the cats and the funny small barking dog. They also had roosters, which is a symbolic of the regions wine. We then journeyed to the 2nd winery where there was a very long and steep hilly and rocky driveway we had to climb. The bus could not make such a drive, too difficult and steep. Once up top, the panoramic views were priceless. The sun just strategically lowering over the mountains creating the perfect effect of half orange sunlight and blue gray sky, which you have to see it. In this winery we learn more about the process and sleeping wines, their development into what’s in our glasses. The young man here was more animated and showman, it made the experience fun. Now the first stop, the young lady was good in her style, but this guy seemed more comfortable with the public. We bought wine, ate the cheese, salami and bread with balsamic vinegar and olive oil. Had wine shipped home. Great tour. Highly recommend you go and experience this region and enjoy. Chow!

Maxcimus our bus driver was a professional driver, although the weather was so hot BUT our bus was well air conditioned and so cold. We enjoyed the drive. The tour depart in time and got back in time. Tasted 8 or 9 different type of wines and you could have more than one glass of each wine if you ask them for more. A walk in the vineyard was not included in the tour so dont expect to experience it with this tour.

The trip was great! The winery’s were lovely/picturesque, the wine was good and everyone was very nice.
The hosts were very accommodating and their Knowledge of wine was great.
The coach ride is 1 hour each way (winery’s to Florence and return) with a 30/40 mins drive between each winery. This might put some people off however the coach was comfy, spacious, air conditioned and had WiFi to keep us entertained.
Maria-Louisa was especially great as I proposed to my partner at the last winery and she was great liaising with the winery staff to make the experience/proposal the best it could be!
All in all, would recommend!

We really enjoyed the tour, we went 4 friends(2 couples). We booked last minute the morning tour and we were afraid it would be one of these very commercial overcrowded tours however, even We were one full bus, it didn't not feel overcrowded at all. The instructions on finding the bus was confusing and we were 5 min late because of this, but they waited for us. We visited two wineries the first one was ok, the second one was more fun and better wines and snacks. Both made sure everyone is listening and understood the explanations of the different wines. Very good value for money! I would recommend if you don’t want to take a more exclusive tour. Just be aware this does not include tour of the wineries with a guide. You can go around and take pictures etc. but they don't show you how wine is made etc. Rafaelo was a great driver as well!!

Great experience!
The experience started by finding the tour operator at the train station who has a list of names and provides you with a sticker. The operator then showed us where the coach was parked (very quick walk to the car park opposite).
You are then taken to two vineyards on the coach. We spent a hour at each vineyard where you get a tour of the winery and (sit down) wine wasting with an individual who works at there.
The wine was great and the hosts were amazing - very knowledgable and friendly.
I especially loved trying the cheese, salami, bread, olive oil & balsamic vinegar.
I recommend this experience highly - it was great to visit the vineyards and the rural/countryside whilst on a city break.

Good morning from Caf Tour & Travel,
Dear Abbie,
Thank you for your wonderful review!
We're delighted to hear that you had a great experience on our Chianti Wine Tour. Starting from the smooth organization at the check-in to the quick walk to the coach, it sounds like the tour began seamlessly. It's fantastic that you enjoyed visits to two vineyards, each offering a tour of the winery and a sit-down wine tasting session with knowledgeable and friendly hosts.
The combination of great wine and delicious local specialties like cheese, salami, bread, olive oil, and balsamic vinegar enhanced your experience even more. Exploring the vineyards and countryside during your city break must have been a memorable contrast.
We truly appreciate your high recommendation of this experience and hope to welcome you back for more adventures in the future.
Kind regards

We had a bit of trouble finding the meeting spot but it’s pretty easy actually. Aaron explained on the road the significance of the places we were going thru and the both wineries were pretty satisfactory. We did the 8:30 am tour and although both vineries were pretty good, the first one was more picturequr and the second one was more fun and to our taste. It was just one bus so not very crowded and Raffaelo our driver was very mindful. Would definetely recommend.

We did the Chianti Wine Tour from Florence. Although our guide and second vineyard were great, the advertising for this tour was incorrect. The coach was not air conditioned as advertised, which was an issue when 3 of the 5 hours was on the bus and it was over 30 degrees outside. No wifi, even though this was advertised. An intro to the wine making process was also advertised, but we did not receive this. The Greve stop off was unnecessary given we were on a wine tour (restaurant stop off only, no vineyards or tastings available). The restaurant recommended to us at Greve also tried to overcharge multiple people €10 - when we questioned what it was, it was subsequently removed. We felt rushed the whole trip without time to enjoy the vineyards, view and wine, and would have preferred more time at the two vineyards we visited rather than a quick 10 minutes post-tasting and Greve stop off. We really wanted to enjoy this but just don't feel that it was sufficient value for the price we paid.

Dear Emily,
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback.
We sincerely appreciate the kind words you shared about our tour leader and the wineries during your Chianti Wine Tour from Florence. Your positive feedback means a lot to us, and we are delighted to know that you enjoyed those aspects of the tour.
However, we are sorry to hear about the issues you experienced during the tour, such as the lack of air conditioning and wifi on the coach.
We took our time to verify your comments in depth and we know from the operational department that the air conditioning was working properly. Although this, we experienced weeks of unexpected and unusual weather conditions with extreme high temperatures. The air conditioning system therefore may not seem to cool the temperature more than a few degrees less compared to the outside.
Talking about the Wi-Fi, we know that sometimes, in some specific locations within the Chianti area, there is a lack of signal we can not manage. That being said, we assure you that is a temporary loss of signal.
Regarding Greve in Chianti stop, is indeed a charming medieval village, and we usually receive positive feedback about it being a highlight of the tour.
Your observations are essential to us, and we will take them into consideration to improve our services in the future. Our aim is to offer a more fulfilling and enjoyable experience for all our valued customers.
Warmest regards

Absolutely recommend the bus wine tour that removes the stress of trying to travel and navigate on your own. Two wine farms visits were great, just wish they would give heads up of prices of two farms. Would definitely have bought wine at 1st farm. Enjoyed the outing.

At $61 the tour was a good deal, and we are happy we did it. We especially like the second winery. The wine glasses were more full, and it was a good idea to split into two groups. Bus ride was comfortable. The tour guide had thick accent and it was too hard to understand. It sounded like gibberish the whole time. We signed up for the English tour and clear speaking would have made it a lot more fun and entertaining.
I Think it would be a good idea to have less time listening about the wine and just give people tickets for the glasses so they could move around and not wait on their wine. If snacks and cheese were available, we definitely would have purchased. They only sell wine. I would have paid more to go to a third winery and spend less time listening to information about the wine process and storage at the two wineries. 5 hours was about the right amount of time for our family though. A couple could do the full day.

How much wine do you get on this tour? D you have to pay for the wine or is it included?

Can our 19-months old infant daughter come with us for this tour? We’ll be carrying her in body pouch, and doesn’t need a seat.

it would be better not to bring babies. Windy roads and lapses of time of being over 1 hr riding the bus.. Baby could get uncomfortable and its hard to make unexpected stops.

I am currently wearing a knee brace, I can walk and climb up/down stairs but really slowly. Does this tour involve a lot of walking and/or stairs?
Written 21 August 2019
The only amount of major walking was when we stopped in one of the towns, it is completely up to you how much you walk. I do not recall any stairs at all. Good luck!

how long is this trip? it's an afternoon tour? is there a restaurant that we can sample typical toscanian food with matching wine?
Written 13 August 2019
It’s an afternoon tour, we left around 1:30pm and came back close to 7:30pm. The tour takes you to 2 wineries for the wine tastings, and you visit 2 small towns for about 1/2 hour each where you can eat something.
