Great Guide and Great Locations
Oct 2021
We also had Rubina as our tour guide and she was sensational! We had a group of six and Rubina provided great insight and also great conversation along the way. It was a perfect combination of historical facts and significance along with more real life information on what we were seeing. If you do this tour, which I highly recommend, I even more highly recommend doing it with Rubina. We will for sure look her up on our next trip to Florence!

We experienced a insightful and very fun experience traveling to Siena and San Gimignano with our knowledgeable guide Rubina. We met at the main office in Florence and immediately left on our way. She gave us plenty of information along the way about the surrounding area. Rubina truly has a passion for Florence and Siena. The evening wine tasting and sampling of foods was unique and extraordinary on a farm dating back many hundreds of years. The owner was our personal host! My wife and I being the only two on this trip, we were treated especially well and both the host and our guide catered to our every need. I would highly recommend this side trip to your itinerary!

A great, great day
We had a wonderful day with Marta. She is knowledgeable and charming. Sienna is well worth the trip from Florence to see it’s spectacular cathedral and plaza. In San Gigigmano don’t miss the Gelato. It has been ranked the best in the world and one taste will tell you why. The tour and dinner at the vineyard was the highlight of the day. The owner was engaging as she told its story dating back to the 15th century. The dinner of Tuscan specialities was amazing and the wine and olive oil delicious. We bought some!

Great Experience
Sep 2019
My husband and I recently took this tour while visiting Florence and it was definitely worth it. Marta and Dario were outstanding. Siena and San Gimignano were magnificent. My only complaint would be the dinner was not so great! If I never see another white bean I'd be fine with that!

Worst tour of our entire trip! Do NOT book with this tour operator.
Jun 2019 • Couples
Our group of 6 booked this Sienna & San Gimignano trip last week during our stay in Florence. We arrived at the tour operator's booth location in the Piazza dell Republica and were greeted by Serena, our guide. With the group assembled, we walked over to the Galileo Museum to meet Giacomo, our bus driver. The tour started out ok, with the guide pointing out some minor sights along the way for the 45 minute drive to Sienna.
However, once we arrived in Sienna, the bus died on the spot. There was NO provision made by this tour operator for a backup bus. Our guide scrambled to "beg" another coach bus operator to take our group to the Sienna town drop off spot to meet our Sienna guide. We all collect our belongings and transfer to this other bus, which immediately proceeds to GO THE WRONG WAY taking us back toward Florence! After Serena and the bus driver argue for awhile, they turn the bus around and finally get us to the meeting location in Sienna (wasting a good 45 minutes of our tour time)!
The Sienna guide was adequate but obviously rushed since we are way behind schedule now due to the broken down transportation. Sienna is pretty, but I seriously could care less about the 17 different districts and each of their different animal emblems on the various buildings. We were supposed to receive some kind of "special surprise" while in Sienna, but that was clearly tossed to the wayside due to all the problems. So we then were greeted by (4) taxi cabs that Serena had procured which would tak us to San Gimignano. Great, split the group into 4 cabs, all driven by cab drivers who just want to dump us off as quickly as possible (with NO tour guide, since she is in one of the other cabs!) What a waste!
We rushed to San Gimignano just as the town was basically closing up for the evening. Shops were still open, but clearly closing down due to our late arrival. We were given a very fast 1 hour free visit to wander around on our own which was clearly NOT Enough time! We had just enough time to go to the very top and have a glass of wine and enjoy the view. The town is BEAUTIFUL and was the best part of the tour. A shame we did not get to enjoy more time there!
After hurrying down to meet our cabs again, we are whisked away to their "boutique winery" for wine tasting & dinner.
We were taken to this DIADEMA "winery" which really is just a fancy resort with a small restaurant and wine shop. Now we get the joy of waiting about an hour while our "guide" settles the cab bills with the 4 taxi drivers. Each taxi driver wants 175 Euros which apparently the Florencetown guides credit card cannot handle. So the "winery" has to give her their credit card to pay the tab! This is a total joke of our tour. We are sitting around for an hour waiting for all of the this to be resolved with No offer of food or wine by anyone. Then comes the wine tasting.
We are shuffled over to an overhang away from the VERY NICE restaurant to a damn picnic table with 3 bottle of the wineries wine. There are only enough chairs for about 3/4 of our group at this picnic table. So some of us end up standing while tasting the local wine. I've done wine tasting in Napa & Sonoma, and this is NO wine tasting. Shot pours from the bottles, no water to rinse your glass, and really NO discussion of the grapes or blends of the various local wines. This was a joke!
To accommodate our group for the glaring problems, we are promised a bottle of wine from the winery for our troubles. This perked everyone up, since we all did enjoy at least 1 of the 3 wines tasted. Once we went inside the wine shop, however, we had NO CHOICE in the bottle we would get. We literally all got the least favorite wine of the group (and probably the cheapest bottle). When a few people in our group asked if we could swap or pay the difference for the bottle we would prefer, we were sharply told NO, and that we should stop complaining.
I was done at this point. Last event was the dinner. Instead of seating us at this nice looking restaurant, we are then bused (yes another bus finally arrived) about a 1/4 mile away to a standalone building hidden by woods with NO view of any of the surrounding hillsides. We are hurriedly served bland pasta's and cheap house wine.
Our trip back to Florence was in the dark and gratefully uneventful. Book with a more responsible tour operator and save your money. If anybody finds Giacomo (who was left behind with the broken down bus), tell him water does not go in the power steering reservoir.

Wonderful!
May 2019 • Couples
We had a fantastic afternoon/evening visiting Siena and San Gimignano. Our guide in Siena was Guila, who was informative and knowledgeable having lived all her life there. Siena was amazingly beautiful capped off by Guila's tour. Our main guide was Luciana and our driver Giacomo who was very obliging to Luciana's special requests to enhance our trip. Luciana was amazing with her explanations and vibrant personailty that kept the bus alive. At the winery we had a marriage proposal from our group which was wonderful. We enjoyed the wine tasting then walked to a nearby restaurant for dinner to enjoy good food and wine. A great time was had by all, largely thanks to Luciana.
