- zacharyl3780 contributions😍when jon said to knead the dough, i realised i needed him. i couldn’t focus on how to make the pasta because i was just focused on smelling jon the whole time. he’s just so hot. jon is lucky i didn’t just start touching him there and then.Written 29 November 2024
- Tour181390820850 contributionsTasty food and tastier chef (Jon)This tour was so educational and fun! Our instructors jon and alice were so informative and friendly, and they taught us not only how to make pasta and gelato but also the history behind the foods! Jon was such a handsome boy. With how good he smelled, i wanted a bite of him too!Written 29 November 2024
- Mobile3058040 contributionsExceptional guideOur guide Khalifa was wonderful. He made our trip the most memorable. If anyone goes to visit Oman they should really look into getting him as a guide. He is very patient and knowledgeable. We were a group of 9 and he accommodated all of us. We truly appreciated all that he did for us.Written 20 November 2024
- 594jennir0 contributionsA wonderful experience! We had the most wonderful time on our Vespa tour with Tanya and Gabriele. They were kind and patient while making sure everyone was comfortable with their Vespas. The wine and Olive oil tasting as well as the lunch served at the hotel and farm where the wine and olive oils are pressed was a wonderful experience. We came away with our hearts content and loved meeting other people in the group that joined us. Thank you so much!Written 19 November 2024
- L8257GPmargareta0 contributionsWonderful experience, we’re still smilingWe had a great time in this class, smiling and laughing the whole time. Our pizzaiola Jon was very knoledgeable and shared history and useful tips about Florence as well as the cooking skills. He was well able to manage our diverse group of learners which ranged from young children to older folks, with all different native languages and cooking skill levels. The pizzas we made were crispy and delicious, served with good wine and the gelato we made, which was some of the best i’ve ever tasted. I would thoroughly recommend this experience to anyone who has an interest in cooking!Written 17 November 2024
- H8089TCannav0 contributionsMaria was a great guide! We had Maria for our Florence Classic Bike tour and she was an excellent guide! We learned so much from her and she was extremely friendly and easy to talk to. She gave us some extra recommendations too. It is great to be able to see a lot of the city in only 2.5 hours, although it is a bit tricky to navigate with all of the cars. Great experience but would not recommend for people who are not confident bikers.Written 16 November 2024

- kaylajT4996HM0 contributionsMUST DOMy husband and I booked this as our Florence excursion during our Honeymoon and have absolutely zero regrets! This tour was so interesting - the tour guide had so much knowledge of the region and the wineries we were headed to, it was so fascinating! We also went to some awesome wineries and ended up buying 6 bottles to ship back to the states! The small group was the perfect amount of people (about 14) and we had a blast getting to know everyone and spend the day with them drinking wine. Also the Tuscan lunch we received was heavenly. Some of the best food we had in Florence! We would absolutely recommend this trip to anyone who loves wine as much as we do!Written 4 November 2024

- rose_t_traveller0 contributionsNot worth itWe’ve enjoyed several tours with Towns of Italy, but unfortunately this one missed the mark. The walking tour of Siena was very good and visiting San Gimignano was nice, though less than an hour there was not enough to explore and enjoy this place. Our guide told us lunch would be at 1:45pm so we thought we shouldn’t buy much food in San Gimignano; however, we didn’t arrive at the winery until 2:05pm, then they announced we’d be going on a tour of the winery before lunch - even though we were all extremely hungry. Lunch didn’t start until 2:45pm. The itinerary promised a wine tasting, but we were only given two small serves of wine with lunch over a long period of time, plus a dessert liqueur. I have dietary requirements (gluten free, no onion, no garlic) which was confirmed with the company well in advance, two days before and on the day of the trip. However when lunch came around they still seemed surprised when I mentioned it. While everyone else was served a veggie lasagna, my “traditional Tuscan lunch” was a bowl of chickpeas and a bowl of potatoes with salt and pepper. Very disappointed, would not recommend this tour especially if you have dietary requirements. Better to stay in Florence and explore more of the beautiful scenery and multitude of restaurants there instead.Written 3 November 2024
- Venture587550590330 contributionsBest class everAlicia was our chef and if you truly want a beautiful and fun experience please go. We learned so much about Italian cuisine and the food was absolutely delicious (if I might say so myself) Chef Alicia has a great personality and she knew what she was talking about. The trip to the market was very informative. After class we walked back over to the market and bought what we needed to make another meal. Fyi...if there is a guy that feels that this class is not for them...just know that the men had more fun than the woman. Great experience and would do it again and again and againWritten 31 October 2024

So very disappointed in what could have been such a nice tour. We had a female guide, obviously not the one that received such high praise in the other reviews. The only plus was that it was a small group of 7. My family and 2 other couples. This was one of our most expensive tours that we splurged on so with high hopes of tasting really good wines and having an actual sommelier. She was not a sommelier. What we did get was 18 sips of wine and a lecture on how the Italians don’t drink more than one glass of wine because they are satisfied if the wine is really good quality. Our pours were literally 2 sips of wine each. Even with lunch she did not give more than 2 sips of wine. They were also not all supertuscans. Only 3-4 were, the rest were not and they were ok to average wines. The food was just ok, the olive oil at the restaurant was delicious however. I paid for three of us and I know my son is not drinking age but they could have at least poured me or my husband his wine for us to drink since we paid full price for him to see the countryside. Not worth it!!!!!

Dear Sarah,
first of all thank you for joining our VIP Semi-private Supertuscan Wine tour: Masterclass by a Wine Expert.
We appreciate the time and effort you have spared to give us this review. We always accept all reviews as an essential element in our strive to continually maintain and exceed expectations, as well as provide the highest standards on our tours.
I am sorry to read the tour did not meet your expectations.
Our apologies for this, first of all.
I have investigated with the guide you had on the tour to better understand.
From your feedback, it seems that the perception that you got a small amount of wine, prevented you from fully enjoy the whole experience, which is obviously not only about drinking wine (although this is a big focus) but also exploring the wonderful Tuscan countryside and discovering three very different wineries while learning about wine production.
As you say, this is a VIP semi-private tour, as the maximum number of participants is set to 8.
All the guides that lead this tour are wine experts (either sommeliers or studying as sommeliers, or having completed wine-related studies). Only the most knowledgeable guides about wine are allowed to guide this tour.
You visited three wineries, including all their cellars, plus the actual vineyards of one of them.
She has actually confirmed me that she explained the wine production processes extensively, as well as the different grape varieties you met in the vineyards, and all the different characteristics of each wine you tasted.
Regarding the wines, you tasted a total of 9 different wines, 5 of which were Supertuscans.
The other wines are Chianti or Chianti Classico wines, some of which have also been awarded by international experts and guides.
It is true, and you will experience this everywhere in Italy, that wine is part of our culture and we are used to drink moderate quantities of wine, even everyday, preferring quality over quantity.
The quantity we have set on these wine tastings reflects this, giving you the opportunity to well understand and appreciate each wine, without exaggerating (with the risk of feeling not well, especially if you are not used to drink wine everyday and you have to drink 9 different wines during the morning).
Also, these are standard quantities for wine tastings.
Usually, at the third boutique winery, where you also have lunch, a bit more wine is served if a guest requests it (also because you are now accompanying the wine with a full lunch, which reduces the alcohol effects).
You are right when you say that you could have had a bit more wine, even considering your son did not drink it, but the guide told me that noone requested.
So, I'm sure the guide would have poured you some more wine, had you requested, but our apologies anyway, given she did not ask it.
Your guide during the tour is the person in charge of making your experience a memorable one, therefore we appreciate every time a guest openly speaks to the guide, even on the tour, to make sure her/his expectations are met.
Probably just doing this would have changed your experience and your perception of it. Please always remember that our guides are there to do their best in order to let you fully live an authentic Italian experience.
Anyway, I strongly invite you to try other Florencetown tours, to have a full picture on our services and the quality and passion we deliver.
Furthermore, I invite everyone to read several reviews on our tours, to have a more complete perspective on the quality that Florencetown delivers on them.
Again, thank you for your precious feedback and looking forward to welcoming you back to Florence!
Best regards

We had high hopes for this tour. It was a beautiful day. The Chianti Wine area was beautiful. The driver was very knowledgeable about wine. The vineyards, however, were lacking. This was advertised as a Super Tuscan tour. I did not expect to be tasting Rosatto or Chianti and the Super Tuscan’s were less than super. The amount of money charged for this tour set us up for higher expectations.

Dear Mrs. Angela,
We appreciate your detailed feedback on your recent Chianti Wine tour experience. We're delighted that you enjoyed the beautiful day and found our driver to be knowledgeable about wine. It's always rewarding to hear positive comments about these aspects of the tour.
We understand your concerns regarding the wine tasting portion and the term "Super Tuscan." We would like to clarify that the term "Super Tuscan" is a specific classification for red wines produced in Tuscany that intentionally deviate from the traditional winemaking rules of the region by incorporating non-native grape varieties. This term was coined in the mid-1980s and is not a marketing invention on our part; it's a well-defined wine category.
We understand that there might have been a linguistic misinterpretation, but the term "super" is actually an integral part of the name and not meant to be a sensational adjective. We believe this information might have been conveyed to you in greater detail during the tour, both by our driver and by the sommeliers at the three esteemed Tuscan wineries where you had the tastings.
We value your feedback and are taking it as an opportunity to further enhance the clarity of information provided to our guests about the wine classifications and tasting experiences. We hope you still found value in the overall tour and the picturesque Chianti Wine area. Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us.
Kind regards,
Florencetown - Towns of Italy Customer Care Team

Just finished a fabulous six hours with Matteo, our Sommelier for the day, on Florencetown's Supertuscan Wine Tour. We visited three wineries, tasted amazing wines, and had a wonderful lunch at the last winery. Cannot recommended highly enough. Matteo was incredibly versed in his profession, and more importantly, in the background of Tuscany. Wonderful day and thanks.
