This is the tour you WANT!
First of all let's get something straight!! English is not the first language for most people in the world and some of these reviews had me thinking the tour guides were going to sound like a broken intercom. NOT AT ALL. Nadia did speak in a "staccato" pace but English is not her first language and people need to be more considerate of that! But otherwise she was easy to understand. Our driver drove a standard bus and even helped me charge my phone on board when I was low on battery. Our local guide once in Pisa was Valencia (I hope I got that right) was EASY TO UNDERSTAND and was very funny. We did have ear sets to use incase we wanted to wander away from the group but still get to hear Valencia's historical facts about the church near the tower. Those head sets worked perfectly. Everything went smoothly on the tour and even though going to the top and back down with no problems and no worries of being left behind. I'm not sure how much time people needed but what this tour gave us was JUST GOOD AND PLENTY. If you are in Florence and want to take the hassle out of booking a train and tickets to Pisa, go with this tour! They are for you!

Pisa Amazing, Tour Blah
Dec 2019
This was the largest tour group I've ever been on (double decker coach) and, as such, most of the 'tour' was about logistics (times, groups, meeting points) rather than the insightful information I've come to expect and pay for. Pisa was definitely worth visiting, and seemed a pleasant town, although there wasn't time to to explore. With hindsight, it would have been better to get a train from Florence (which appears to take about the same amount of time) and book my own timed ticket for the tower (which is only €18 online). Being given tower tickets that coincided with the sunset was a treat, there just wasn't time to savour it because we had to rush back to meet the tour. Three hours travelling on the coach, 20 minutes to walk up and down the tower and take photos. All guides were polite and friendly though.

Pisa
Oct 2019 • Couples
We signed up for an English-speaking tour & found out that a French group had been added. Our guide (Gianfranco) spent more time with the French than with us. Also his command & delivery of English was poor at best. It was virtually impossible to understand him. His delivery was abrupt & staccato-like. The headsets were also of a poor quality.
Many other group members also left the “tour”.
What was Frederika’s purpose on the tour??
The bus driver was very careless in his driving: no turn signals, cutting people off, passing too close to cars. And his seat squeaked for the entire trip - this was like listening to water dripping or fingernails on a chalkboard.
We got to see Pisa but it could have been so much better. We did not get what we paid for!

Comfortable Ride, Beautiful Site, Hard To Understand Guide
The tour escort and bus ride from and to Pisa were great - comfortable ride and informative escort. Once we got to Pisa, we were handed off to a local guide who was responsible for guiding the tour through the Cathedral to the Tower was very hard to understand due to his very strong accent and way of speaking with a staccato. The tour was conducted in two languages, first in English & then in French. The location is absolutely beautiful, definitely worth seeing, but I wish I could have understood more of what was being said. There was a bank of machines in the Cathedral that gave an audio presentation for 2 Euros, but it was time to move on before I could listen to it all.

An easy afternoon side trip
Sep 2019
Everything you need to see in Pisa can be seen in 1-1/2 hours. Add time if you want to climb to the top of the Duomo or the top of the Leaning Tower.

A very long walk from where the bus stopped to the Duomo. Food available just outside of Old Pisa (including a McDonald's!).

All in all, worth the afternoon.

Nice excursion from Florence, poor local tour group
Sep 2019
We enjoyed the actual tour and visit to Pisa. However, the company providing the service needs to get their act together. First of all the heat on the bus was blasting along our feet and the driver could not get it turned off and a few people burned their lower legs. It was hot and he was able to also run the a/c but it was a warm trip to Pisa which took over an hour. Bus parking is a 15 min walk to the tower which was ok. We were to meet at 5:30pm at the wall opening surrounding the site which all but 2 people did. They waited 45 minutes for this couple to arrive at the bus!! Everyone on the bus was upset after a long day and we all knew to be at the meeting point or you would be left behind. They did not leave them behind and it was very disappointing when we all made an effort to be on time. There should have only been a 5-10 min wait and then tough luck! At least the heat was off on the way home.

Half-day in Pisa
Sep 2019
My wife and I went on this half-day trip to Pisa with Caf Travel on our honeymoon. Seeing the whole Piazza dei Miracoli complex was fantastic, not to mention surreal - you see it so often in pictures, and then to see it for real is another experience altogether! The cathedral, baptistery and of course the tower are incredible buildings and well worth seeing if you're staying in Florence (and therefore near to Pisa).

- The tour guide, Keiko, had a good grip on the organisational side of the trip.
- The pick-up point is near the bus area around the back of the Firenze SNM train station. We found it a little hard to spot at first, although that was more from unfamiliarity with the area, but you can walk around the east side of the station to get to the station. From there you can't miss the guide groups.
- The schedule was tight. No time is allocated for toilet trips - on our trip, someone was desperate, so the bus did stop at a service station, but it appeared to put the local guides (note, not the same as the guide from Florence) timings' out by some distance. The public toilet facility in the Piazza costs 80 cents (it's manned, they're clean, and the staff give change).
- Keiko was very strong on ensuring that we were safe from pickpocketing while off the coach. The message got through, although I may have personally taken this very seriously, as the prospect of being robbed preyed on my mind throughout. I stayed alert and as such stayed safe.
- All tour groups on coaches walk from a coach car park about a mile's walk from the Piazza. There are hawkers and street traders everywhere, and it's very crowded. Although this isn't exclusive to Caf, it's something to be mindful of if you're planning to go to see the Leaning Tower. The atmosphere of the place was very tourist-oriented, but the fact is that it IS a tourist experience!
- We had a brief walking tour of the complex, followed by another tour of Piazza dei Cavalieri, as unfortunately the inside of the Duomo was closed due to a religious music festival. Unfortunate but didn't dampen the experience. it might be worth checking the schedule around the time of your visit.
- For the Tower, you're allocated a 15-minute entry window by the complex. Similar to pre-booked entry times for the Uffizi and other attractions around Florence. If you have a rucksack, check it into the cloakroom near before you get in line - they won't let you up with a bag of any kind.
- The total time Caf ascending the tower, having a good look around, descending and then getting to the meeting point was around 40-45 minutes, so get up there early. The tower is obviously the main attraction of the trip, so this relatively short window caused a fair amount of consternation among others in our group. As it turned out, it was just about enough time, although perhaps not as long as I would have liked when taking into account getting up and down the tower.
- The view from the top is glorious - it was a beautiful sunny day, and climbing it was a highlight of our trip. Be warned though - it's not an easy climb! The stairs are worn and slippery, which when combined with the pecular effect created by the tower's lean, made it a bigger challenge on the way down than the way up. That said, it's completely worth it for the views from the top.

Overall, although we felt perhaps a little rushed by the tight schedule, enough time was indeed allocated for all parts of the trip.

If you're looking for a longer day out and a full exploration of the complex, I would recommend organising your own transport and planning your own schedule. I don't know how much else there is to see or do in Pisa though.

If you're looking to pretty much get there and back, without having to think too much (which is kind of what I was looking for anyway), then it's the tour for you. Enjoy visiting the incredible Leaning Tower of Pisa!

Pisa Tour
Sep 2019
The location and wait to catch the bus to go to Pisa was near the bus station and the wait was too long. The bus driver was all over the road and got honked at by several cars. The tour guide on the bus did very little and was not informative during the bus ride to Pisa. The tour guide at Pisa was better. The walk up to the top of the tower was a challenge with almost 300 steps but worth the climb. The time allotment at the actual tower was about 45 minutes and seemed very rushed to get back to the bus. On the way back the tour guide did no better at pointing out anything. So the sights themselves are worth seeing but don't expect much from the tour guide and pray you get a better driver.

Recommend paying for the Leaning Tower entrance only, The Cathedral was closed and was not given a discount. Also could not understand a word our supposed English speaking guide was saying. Seemed like a new tour guide.
