Highlights
See a new side of Florence when you explore the city at sunset
A walking tour makes it easy to immerse yourself in the city’s ambiance
Discover top Florence attractions like the Duomo and Ponte Vecchio
Sip local Chianti wine and enjoy traditional crostini as you explore
What to expect
Meet your guide in central Florence to begin your sunset wine tour and set out to explore the city at dusk. Admire the views from the iconic Ponte Vecchio and pose for photos by the riverside, then wind through the parks and piazzas of elegant Oltrarno. Follow your guide to landmarks like Santo Spirito church and Piazzale Michelangelo, and get a feel for Florentine life as you duck down the buzzing alleys and peek into lively cafés. Continue to the hip San Frediano district, where the streets are lined with artisan shops, traditional taverns and wine bars, as your guide fills you in on the city’s social traditions. Then, make your first stop, for a typical ‘aperitivo’ at a local wine cellar, and sip a glass of wine as you watch the sunset over the city. As you sample Tuscan wines from the famous Chianti region, sate your appetite with a platter of delicious ‘crostini’, another Tuscan specialty. Cross over the river to Florence’s historic center, where the streetlamps will be flickering into action and star attractions like the Duomo cathedral will be dramatically floodlit. After learning more about the Renaissance city, make a second stop and toast to a fun-filled evening with another glass of wine.

Wonderful way to see Florence at night
Our guide for this tour was Vanessa...she spoke wonderful English and gave us a great history of Florence while waking through the beautiful city of Florence.

Vanessa was kind enough to take pics of all the couples on the tour along the way (we only had one other couple and a single on our tour).

The wine tastings were superb with lots of information on each wine we tried. You can skip dinner before this tour; because the amount of food you get with tastings is huge and delicious.

Our final stop was at a bar for our last glass of wine where we picked up a picnic dinner and then walked with our picnic and final glass of wine to the Florence Cathedral to sit and enjoy🥰

Overall, this was a wonderful tour, well worth the cost. We would book this tour again in a heartbeat🍷🍇💕

Loved the out of way highlights of this tour!
Sep 2019
We had an amazing tour of some of the little known parts of Florence and it's unique history. Our guide Giovanna Giacoia was an excellent host, she showed us parts of Florence I would have never seen, interesting history not on all the BIG tours share. The wine was more about learning the wine regions of Tuscany. Don't go for the wine go for the unique learning and fun nature of the tour.

Great tour but we it's NOT a sunset tour
Aug 2019
To be clear, we loved our guide, Patrizia Vigiani, my wife and I were lucky enough to have him to ourselves and he took his time to explain things to us, and he really enjoyed it, which made us enjoy it. We went WAY over the allotted time but we didn't care because he was a great guy and if you get a chance to do a tour with him you wont be disappointed. However, I was VERY disappointed that we missed sunset because it was our only chance to do it in our time there so the need to take the "Sunset" out of this tour name and if wasn't for that we would have given this 5-stars.

Dear antnee13, sorry we cannot understand WHEN you had a tour with us, not even IF you had a tour with us. We do not know your guide Patrizia Vigiani and we do not know who is HE , as you are talking about a guy, while Patrizia should be your guide, so a woman........the only thing we can see is that you made a big mistake by reviewing us instead of someone else and you lowered our rate on Tripadvisor. It is not fair at all, but we forgive you as there are many tours in Florence and you might get wrong! Have a nice stay in our town!

Great tour but not enough wine or knowledge of wine
Aug 2019 • Couples
Our guide was fantastic, he showed us loads of interesting things about Florence and we really enjoyed what he had to say.
But there simply was not that much wine, maybe 4 servings each a quarter glass full.
Also there was not much explanation of the wines and this was meant to be a wine tour.
We have done some similar cities around Europe and have found them to serve much more food and drink.
We were not the only other guests who were disappointed with the lack of wine on our tour.

Wonderful informative tour by Vannozza
Our guide was the best here. Vannozza not only had a good sense of humour, but was professional, efficient, funny and full of information and lively. She was well informed and brought in her experience of working in vineyards and olive orchards to the tour.

The bars we went to where we were served the wines were well organised for these tours and their staff friendly. The servings of wine were not measly and the nibbles were just right.

A Pleasant Way to Kick Off Your Florence Holiday
Feb 2019 • Friends
The tour is a great way to launch your first night in Florence. As a first time visitor (along with my 63 yr old mother and best friend), it provided a unique opportunity to experience the city by night and gain insightful knowledge...accompanied with wine! Lucy, our guide, was delightful and provided a wealth of information about the city's history and culture. She guided us on a meandering walk from the meeting spot, Ponte Vecchio and pointed out recommended shops as we made our way to Pitti Palace. The tour continued through Oltranto where we picked up some hidden gem insight on various architectural designs and their use during certain periods in history. Loved the nugget of detail on the "bucchette del vino" (aka: wine window, see my photos). Our first stop for the evening was at a restaurant, in a small private room along side of it where we enjoyed learning about Chianti wines and their history. 4 tastings in all; 2 of which were impressive (Monte Guelfo Chianti Classico & San Felice Vermentino Toscana). As we were a small party of only 3, our guide and Lucca (bar owner) were able to provide a very personal touch and added a charcuterie board to our food pairing as the tour did have a lengthy yet enjoyable stay at this location and we had not eaten dinner prior. We continued our walk, crossing the river into the shopping district and taking in all the sights and lights. Unfortunately, we too arrived late at the second stop just as they were closing so the experience was rushed; they filled our glass and we took the wine and snacks to go (the tour guide will give you a nifty pouch to carry your empty wine glass, which I thought was neat) and we continued our walk to the Duomo complex where the we departed for the evening. While not the most in-depth wine tour, this tour does a nice job of blending a intro to Florence highlighted by the charm of lights at night and a few tasty wines! Cheers to Firenze!

Florence Sunset Wine Tour
Like another reviewer stated, this tour could be so much better than it was...

Our guide (Giovanna) was very good and looked after us well. The wines we tried were also very good though, as other reviewers have said, the information provided about the wines was a little ‘light’ so if you’re looking for a real in-depth description, try elsewhere... I have to say I was very pleasantly surprised by the number and quality of wines tasted; that saved my tour review from being a much lower score!

The tour itself is limited, though, to a few sights (we met on the Ponte Vecchio and walked to Pitti Palace, through some Piazza’s in Oltranto to reach the first restaurant and then back across the river to the second restaurant and finish by the Duomo) with a little history thrown in by the guide. She also pointed out some interesting features like street-art and ‘wine windows’ that I would almost certainly have missed without her intel.

But too much time is spent in a small side room of the first restaurant tasting 4 wines and ‘snacks’ (various bruschetti / crostini). I was under the impression we’d try 1-2 wines before moving elsewhere to try another 1-2, etc. We arrived late at the second restaurant so had to take our glass of wine and snack (another bruschetta) ‘to go’.

My wife and I were with an American couple and an American family (7 in total) and we got on well with good conversation flowing. It was a lovely way to spend our first evening in Florence and it did give us pointers for the next few days of sight-seeing and where to eat. However, it is relatively expensive for what it is.

So, a better venue for wine-tasting - ideally with a view - and more opportunity to see the sights could make this a spectacular tour!
