Get picked up at your centrally-located Florence hotel by your guide and walk together towards the Accademia Gallery, one of the city's top museums. Bypass the long queues with skip-the-line tickets. The main draw of the Accademia is Michelangelo's 'David.' The statue dominates the museum's central gallery; this unique work of art has become the symbol of Renaissance splendor. Take the time to gaze upon this masterpiece and admire its beauty from every perspective. Michelangelo was still in his early 20s when he carved the statue from a single block of Carrara marble. It's 17 feet (5.17 meters) tall, and represents the Biblical hero, David, who slayed Goliath. It was unveiled in 1504 and soon after came to symbolize the defense of civil liberties embodied by the Florentine Republic. In addition to 'David,' the Accademia also has several unfinished Michelangelo sculptures, plus a collection that includes works by Botticelli, Paolo Uccello, Andrea del Sarto, and more. Enjoy insights about the artwork on display from your guide throughout the tour.

Great food tour with fun and informative stories about Florence.
We really enjoyed the tour. Anna was friendly, informative and funny. She explained a bit about the history of the food we were tasting. She gave many interesting pieces of information as we walked to the different food places. And yes, the food was delicious.

Exceptional tour with an exceptional host!
Dilara was an exceptional host. She showed us many, many different locations as well as some of her personal favourites. The tastings were excellent and showcased the variety and quality of the local products. She went out of her way to accommodate our varied interests and needs. Dilara was both knowledgeable as well as passionate about Florence.

        Marilisa Was Amazing!
Marilisa was our tour guide and she was fantastic! We were a group of 13 of my family members celebrating my sister’s birthday. Marilisa was so passionate and knowledgeable about everything she shared with us from the food, the outdoor and indoor market, and the history of Florence. She responded to our questions and always had a smile as she guided us through the tour. We all had a fabulous time and I am so grateful for having crossed paths with Marilisa. She definitely made the experience a memory of a lifetime!

Leonardo was the highlight of our visit to Florence! We were there with a group of 12 friends. We were running a bit late so he met us at the restaurant that we were having lunch at and told us to take our time and he waited outside. He proceeded to take is on a walking tour that was both informative and entertaining. No easy task! One of the couples in our group went back again for another tour with Leonardo a couple of weeks later with a different group. they said that he gave them a completely different tour that was equally interesting. Leonardo is the best!

Leonardo is a native Florencian, and that made our tour of Florence a 10 out 10. His knowledge of the history of Florence and Italy gave our group the tour of a lifetime! His english is excellent, and he even taught us how the dialect of Florence differs from the rest of Italy. Hoha-Hola to you, Leonardo!

Leonardo with Raphael Tours was an amazing guide for our family in Florence. Leonardo was so well-versed in the history of the city, whether it was Michelangelo, the baptistry beautifully crafted doors, the architecture of the Duomo or the stories of the Medici family. Importantly, he is a born storyteller so kept all the details interesting and entertaining. We couldn't have asked for a better guide for our first trip to Florence. We'll be back and will ask for Leonardo again!

We were an extended family ages ranging 16 to 91. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable, super friendly, and entertaining. We were very fortunate because we could have a private tour with just our family since we were 13 people. She went at our pace and patiently answered all of our questions. To me having a guided tour versus trying to figure it out on your own is so worth it and this tour company was fantastic from start to finish!
