Overview

Travelers with a passion for Italian food delve deeper into Florence’s culinary scene during this pizza and gelato cooking experience. Escape the city to a remote farmhouse on a relaxing Tuscan estate where you’ll master the basics of Italian pizza and gelato. The highlight of this culinary experience is eating the fruit of your labors, a great way to interact with other travelers and enjoy authentic Italian fare.

What to Expect

Arrive 15 minutes prior to the departure time selected at checkout to the centrally located Walkabout Florence. There you’ll board a minibus destined for the Tuscan countryside.

Following a scenic journey, you’ll be greeted with traditional fettunta (toast with toppings) and a glass of Chianti.

After learning the history of pizza and gelato, you’ll recreate the iconic Italian dishes yourself. Once you’ve prepared the pizza dough, you’ll add your favorite toppings from freshly harvested produce, and cook your creation in a wood-fired oven.

Feast on your pizza, accompanied by beer or wine, before making creamy gelato. You'll go back to Florence with recipes, and the tour concludes with drop-off at your original departure point.

Most fun night out on the whole trip!

Luca and Massimiliano and staff are fantastic. Much more than just authentic cooking, this tour is pure entertainment! Best gelato and pizza I've ever tasted- and I made it! (with a little help;-)

Fantastic Afternoon

This was a really unforgettable afternoon, and honestly just so much fun. The food, scenery, and people were great. We had Angela and Luca and it couldn't have been better. I got sent the recipes a few weeks after the class too. Definitely recommend!

My boyfriend and I both agreed that this truly made our trip to Italy unique. Luca and Massimo were so friendly and entertaining, we could have stayed there all night. I was afraid 5 hours of a cooking class would get a bit boring, but...More
