What a fantastic day! Highlight of our whole trip to Italy! Mateo was one of the best guides we have ever had! First off tuscan safari payed such close attention to detail. They allowed us to adjust our pick up and drop off points, giving us more ease during the day. Mateo had a wonderful balance of flexibility and extreme precision of detail. At each point he knew the best way to navigate Cinque terre which can be filled with visitors. At each village he took us off the beaten path so we were able to really explore. He had wonderful recommendations at each place, and made the entire visit very peaceful. Pisa was an amazing end and he gave us so much historical context, enhancing our visit. He was very comfortable and social, and made the day so well organized and efficient without feeling restricted and rushed!

My wife and I booked a day trip tour of Cinque Terre and Pisa from Firenze directly with Tuscan Safari. Communication before the tour was thorough with instructions for time and meeting point. On the day of the tour, we met our guide Mario near the main train station. Mario was onsite well before the pickup time and ready for us. Mario was a wonderful and knowledgeable guide! We visited 3 of the 5 towns making up Cinque Terre (Manarola, Vernazza and Corniglia) plus stops at other great photo spots. Mario gave commentary for each stop and allowed us plenty of time to see and do. We had a lovely leisurely lunch, which Mario arranged for us at a local restaurant. We then went to Pisa to see the Cathedral and Leaning Tower. We had enough time in Pisa to get some fun photos. Mario then returned us to Firenze in time for our evening dinner reservation. I can highly recommend Tuscan Safari as a guide service. Mario was fantastic! While it is a long day (nearly 12 hours total), it is well worth the effort and time.

I highly recommend this tour company for a day trip to Cinque Terre from Florence. First of all, it would have been extremely difficult to navigate Cinque Terre on our own. Our guide Mateo was AMAZING!! He was very knowledgeable about the area and the history, answered all of our questions, and was generally a very nice person and fun to talk to. Even though Mateo is a native Italian, he spoke English incredibly well. The tour was tailored to what interested us and what we wanted to do. I can’t imagine enjoying Cinque Terre and Pisa without a tour, and if you are able to do a private one, this is the one I would recommend. The only recommendation I would have is to try to leave earlier (even though we left at 8am) because the rush hour traffic in the afternoon in Florence is terrible (even at end of September!)

Andrea is the owner of the tour company, and we were fortunate to have him take us on the tour. We were greeted in a brand-new nice vehicle with goody bags which had water bottles and some sweets. Andrea went out of the way to make our experience exciting, smooth, and comfortable. With great knowledge and experience, we got to know several things about Cinque Terre which otherwise would have been difficult to know. We requested to make reservations at a great restaurant and those were promptly made, and we enjoyed that very much. We were taken on a Ferry and train and to some special places to taste coffee and focaccia bread. The entire Cinque Terre landscape and coasts are scenic, and we enjoyed it to the fullest at our own pace. On the way back, we saw marble mountains and that was something unique. Andrea did not complain or showed any sign of fatigue even though the tour stretched to over an hour more than originally planned. I would recommend this tour to anyone who wants to have a real pleasant experience.

Fantastic very personal/private and professional tour with a wonderful local. We had an informative and absolutely beautiful tour of the countryside and the lovely and welcoming winery Casa Emma. Would highly recommend this tour with Antonio.

Mario was a wonderful tour guide. He was very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. We had a slight problem at the beginning of the tour. Mario could not find part of our party that he was picking up. But it was remedied and it did not ruin our day. Mario took us to a winery Casa Sola. We ended up getting a late start on our tour because of the mixup. So we missed the tour of the winery. We did not miss the wine tasting! Maria was our sommelier at Casa sola. I really don’t care for red wines. I am a sweet white wine girl. I ended up drinking two of the three that were poured for me! Maria taught us how to tell if a wine is a good wine. She taught us about looks, smell and taste. I have had similar education on wines before. However Maria had more information than I had gotten before. It was very interesting. They gave each of us a charcuterie board. And we would take a bite of meat or cheese and then drink the wine. Delicious! It was a wonderful experience. Then Mario took us to two small towns to look around and shop. I feel that some of the driving in Italy is crazy but I felt totally safe with Mario. He drove very safely and was very entertaining. On the way back from the winery he stopped at several beautiful spots for us to take pictures. And to see a beautiful views of Florence. He stopped at one spot for us to see a statue that Michelangelo had sculpted. If you get a chance to take a tour with Mario you won’t be sorry.

Trip was incredible and our guide Edie was amazing. She took the time to make sure we hit all the highlights as well as some individual things we wanted to do like have Pizza in Pisa, eat octopus on the water, see all of Cinque Terre's highlights and try their famous focaccia and basil. We wish we could have someone like her on all our trips. Highly recommend and well worth the cost.

This was an outstanding tour to the small towns of Cinque Terra. The views were amazing and the food was excellent. Our tour guides Andrea and Irina were very informative and provided us a unique insight as to the history and culture of the area. They even took extra time to drive us to Piza at the end of our regular tour. I would higly recommend this tour!!

We spent three days discovering Tuscany with Giacomo. Giacomo crafted each day to fit our parties interests, while ensuring that we hit all of the highlights. From our exclusive wine tasting at Cennatoio, to key sites in Pisa, Cinque Terre, and San Gimignano, and every meal and conversation in between, Giacomo was our key to unlocking the beauty, history and culture of this amazing region. We seriously would not have been able to piece together the experiences we were able to have without him. I'm a firm believer in the value of getting a good local guide to obtain the most efficient and enriching touring experience, and we most certainly accomplished that with Giacomo's deep and broad knowledge of Tuscany's history and present.

Weather wasn't great but our guide Laura and driver Andrea more than made up for it. While it was a long day we had a great time and enjoyed seeing Cinque Terra and Pisa

The drive between Florence and Cinque Terre and then on to Pisa and back to Florence was filled with interesting conversation with the driver/guide Giacomo who is very knowledgable about art, history, and culture of Italy in general and Tuscany inpaticular. Such an informative guide that managed our group of 4 in driving, recommending points of views, restaurants, and places to see and then booking our train seats in between the little towns of Cinque Terre and meeting us at the end with his comfortable and well-stocked van at Riomaggiore. We had an excellent lunch at Vernazza and some great refreshments in Pisa next to the Miracle Square. Great tour which is the highlight of our Italian trip and a very knowledgable and capable guide Giacomo. We highly recommend this tour with this operator - Thank you!

This was a really nice experience, being in the forest with Spike (The dog) and Marco looking for truffles. We found 2 black ones and 2 small white ones and afterwards we had great truffle lunch cooked by Marco his father at their home.

I did the Cinque Terre Tour + Pisa with my parents and sister. I recommend this tour for anyone wanting to get a taste of Cinque Terre. Irina was a great guide, and made sure to show us the best of the 3 towns with the limited time that we had. We got some amazing pictures, and had a wonderful time taking in the views. Irina also made sure that everyone was comfortable, and adjusted the pace to my parent's needs. Our driver Simon was also great, and made a few stops so that we could take pictures with some great views. The length of the trip was about 11 hours. Simone made sure to include a few stops along the way given that it was a long drive. He also provided information on a few sites as we were driving. Overall it was a great tour, and my family and I really enjoyed ourselves.

Lorenzo is very knowledgeable and personable. Provided historical, geographical and economical information on the development of Cinque Terre and its different communities. He shared detailed information and exposed us to the different aspects of the land and its people.
