Itinerary
- 1You will be collected from your centrally-located hotel by your guide and taken directly to the Accademia, one of Rome’s top museums. With pre-booked tickets you by-pass the waiting queues and head straight inside. There are many wonderful treasures to be seen in the museum, the highlight being Michelangelo’s David. Located in the central gallery this colossal statue towers above you; take time to walk around it and view it from every perspective. It is a truly unique work of art; carved from a single block of Carrara marble it was sculpted when Michelangelo was in his early 20s. At 17 feet (5.17 metres) it is a representation of David, the biblical hero who slew the giant Goliath. Unveiled in 1504 this magnificent statue came to symbolize the defense of civil liberties embodied by the Florentine Republic. Of the other treasures to be found in the Accademia there are a number of unfinished sculptures by Michelangelo as well as collections that include works by Botticelli, Paolo Uccello and Andrea del Sarto, to name a few. Enjoy this tour of the Accademia and learn interesting facts and anecdotes from your expert guide who will make your visit to this wonderful museum both rewarding and memorable.

- V8621EDmichaelk0 contributionsRoman Food TourThis was an interesting street tour. We stopped at five different locations for a taste of different Roman cuisines. One of the most interesting was the Jewish ghetto for a taste of a Judaic artichoke. The walk through the area of Largo Argentina where Julius Caesar was assassinated was interesting. All in all, it was worthwhile. We also stopped at some interesting architectural sites. The guide was very energetic and enthusiastic in explaining Roman foods and history.Written 31 July 2022

- jmsigue0 contributionsA fun tour for our family. My 10-year-old daughter was thrilled to go on a tour that seemed designed just for her. Our guide Julia met us at the Piazza del Santa Croce and took us to the must see sites around Florence. Along the way she enticed our daughter with a "treasure" hunt that ended with a prize (at the end of the tour) for the winner. My daughter was very intrigued by the hunt which was fun and educational. All of the adults were also into it. Our guide Giulia was engaging, informed and clearly enjoyed bringing this experience to children. We ended with the best gelato we'd had on the trip. In addition to being fun, we felt this tour was a real bargain compared to some of the others.Written 11 September 2019

She had so much passion talking about the beautiful city of Florence and was able to keep my 7yo entertained. Actually our whole family was involved in fun activities she implemented. We walked through the city enjoying some amazing sights and locations and capped off the afternoon with some delicious gelato. Great tour, highly recommend. Thank you Guilia for the wonderful tour and the great pictures.Written 29 March 2019
