Our guide was very knowledgeable of the history of the Medici family and the history of Florence. She had so much information. A few years back, we watched the Netflix series about the Medici and we were so enthralled about it that we made a trip to Florence last year and back again this year to see what we missed last year. It was great to see in person what we saw in the Netflix series. We went to the Bargello museum to see the little Bronze David, which was in the Medici home in the Netflix series.

Having just a few days to explore Florence, we booked three separate tours of the Uffizi, Pitti Palace and Boboli Gardens to make the most of our short visit to this culturally rich city. The Made of Tuscany team were quick to respond to our request and were flexible with creating a custom tour schedule for my family. Our guides, Giacomo and Susanna, possessed an obvious passion for and extensive knowledge of Italian history and art. Natural story-tellers, they provided valuable perspective and context to allow for deeper understanding of the master works we were seeing. We were grateful to have these warm, engaging, experienced guides help us navigate the vast collections, as well as the potentially daunting museum admissions/queue process especially in peak season. For any future travel to the area, I would absolutely contact this team again to help create a more meaningful, memorable visit.

We booked this tour by Made of Tuscany Tours and we took a short tour around Basilica di Santa Croce to see paintings and sculptures and then we went to the Galileo Galilei Museum, where we so most of the inventions and experiments from the Genius. A sincerely thanks to our knowledgeable guide.

What a fabulous private tour provided today by Made of Tuscany and our amazing guide Giacomo. We saw so many people walking around both galleries with books and earbuds so they could get obtain basic info about the pictures and sculptures. We, however, were able to find out the details of each work and the story behind each work that really made the works come to life, and in turn, made each work more interesting. Giacomo was able to mix the descriptions of the works with histories of the time, stories of the artists (and their employers, families, loves, etc.) and humor. The hours flew by as we saw famous works in a way we never would have seen or understood without Giacomo. Our family highly recommends Made of Tuscany and our guide Giacomo.

The Medici Chapel is a beautiful example of Florentine art and architecture. The tombs of the Medici are spectacular to see.

This company ruined our Tuscan vacation. I booked for 4 people e and arrived at the meeting spot a half hour early. No one had us on their list. I asked the people in pink shirts and blue shirts at the check in, I asked every bus driver, no one had our name and none of them had ever heard of Made in Tuscany. When I finally got through to the office to ask what had happened ( the office called me back after all the buses had left and we were there alone),the woman on the phone hung upon me. The reason we came to Tuscany was to visit Seina, Chianti and San Gimignano. We were leaving the area the next day so couldn't book another tour. We were devastated. The company said they would refund my $360 but that didn't make up for the fact we didn't visit the areas we came for. The company then blamed it on someone else, they said they had contracted withanother carrier ( they never told me) and the carrier's system dropped our names. They never took responsibility. We brought my niece and nephew and this company ruined a $9k trip and the memories we hoped to make. There are plenty of tour companies, DO NOT USE THIS ONE! Read less

Beware! I purchased tickets on this site. The money was taken from my account immediately, yet I have never received confirmation. I have chased and chased and just get ignored. Lesson learnt 🤬
