Cooking, Culture, and Fun with Chef Tommaso!
An absolute highlight of Florence! Chef Tommaso made cooking fun and easy, guiding us through an amazing fresh food market tour and helping us create delicious Italian dishes. The food was incredible, and the entire experience was unforgettable!

      Highlight of our trip!
Had such an amazing time! One of the highlights of our entire trip! Highly recommend. Learned my husband is very good at making ravioli! LOL It was fun chatting and having fun with the rest of the class and learning where everyone was from. The instructor we had was excellent and I loved getting the downloadable recipe booklet afterwards and he also wrote down some great restaurant and gelateria recommendations afterwards for us all as well.

when jon said to knead the dough, i realised i needed him. i couldn’t focus on how to make the pasta because i was just focused on smelling jon the whole time. he’s just so hot. jon is lucky i didn’t just start touching him there and then.

Tasty food and tastier chef (Jon)
This tour was so educational and fun! Our instructors jon and alice were so informative and friendly, and they taught us not only how to make pasta and gelato but also the history behind the foods! Jon was such a handsome boy. With how good he smelled, i wanted a bite of him too!

      Exceptional guide
Our guide Khalifa was wonderful. He made our trip the most memorable. If anyone goes to visit Oman they should really look into getting him as a guide. He is very patient and knowledgeable. We were a group of 9 and he accommodated all of us. We truly appreciated all that he did for us.

      A wonderful experience!
We had the most wonderful time on our Vespa tour with Tanya and Gabriele. They were kind and patient while making sure everyone was comfortable with their Vespas. The wine and Olive oil tasting as well as the lunch served at the hotel and farm where the wine and olive oils are pressed was a wonderful experience. We came away with our hearts content and loved meeting other people in the group that joined us. Thank you so much!

      Wonderful experience, we’re still smiling
We had a great time in this class, smiling and laughing the whole time. Our pizzaiola Jon was very knoledgeable and shared history and useful tips about Florence as well as the cooking skills. He was well able to manage our diverse group of learners which ranged from young children to older folks, with all different native languages and cooking skill levels. The pizzas we made were crispy and delicious, served with good wine and the gelato we made, which was some of the best i’ve ever tasted. I would thoroughly recommend this experience to anyone who has an interest in cooking!

      Maria was a great guide!
We had Maria for our Florence Classic Bike tour and she was an excellent guide! We learned so much from her and she was extremely friendly and easy to talk to. She gave us some extra recommendations too. It is great to be able to see a lot of the city in only 2.5 hours, although it is a bit tricky to navigate with all of the cars. Great experience but would not recommend for people who are not confident bikers.

Great but not if you don’t like heights!
Definitely read the fine print! This is a climb and can be claustrophobic too! It was really cool to be up in the dome and see the frescos up close. The view from the top outside is amazing!

      MUST DO
My husband and I booked this as our Florence excursion during our Honeymoon and have absolutely zero regrets! This tour was so interesting - the tour guide had so much knowledge of the region and the wineries we were headed to, it was so fascinating! We also went to some awesome wineries and ended up buying 6 bottles to ship back to the states! The small group was the perfect amount of people (about 14) and we had a blast getting to know everyone and spend the day with them drinking wine. Also the Tuscan lunch we received was heavenly. Some of the best food we had in Florence! We would absolutely recommend this trip to anyone who loves wine as much as we do!

      Not worth it
We’ve enjoyed several tours with Towns of Italy, but unfortunately this one missed the mark. The walking tour of Siena was very good and visiting San Gimignano was nice, though less than an hour there was not enough to explore and enjoy this place. Our guide told us lunch would be at 1:45pm so we thought we shouldn’t buy much food in San Gimignano; however, we didn’t arrive at the winery until 2:05pm, then they announced we’d be going on a tour of the winery before lunch - even though we were all extremely hungry. Lunch didn’t start until 2:45pm. The itinerary promised a wine tasting, but we were only given two small serves of wine with lunch over a long period of time, plus a dessert liqueur. I have dietary requirements (gluten free, no onion, no garlic) which was confirmed with the company well in advance, two days before and on the day of the trip. However when lunch came around they still seemed surprised when I mentioned it. While everyone else was served a veggie lasagna, my “traditional Tuscan lunch” was a bowl of chickpeas and a bowl of potatoes with salt and pepper. Very disappointed, would not recommend this tour especially if you have dietary requirements. Better to stay in Florence and explore more of the beautiful scenery and multitude of restaurants there instead.

An amazing custom designed wine tour to the Chianti Region by Rubina (Florencetown company - Tuscany)

An outstanding organization in every little detail by Rubina our tour guide of Florencetown company Tuscany.

Incredibly well-chosen wineries, delicious wines, wonderful lunch, but most of all we were impressed by both your charm and enthusiasm and by your great knowledge. Truly professional!

A special thanks to you Rubina for your dedication, knowledge, good spirit and amazing communication skills.

This tour was such a fun and unique experience. Our guide picked us up in Florence and drove us into Tuscany, describing the area along the way. We loved getting to see 2 different wineries and getting the different stories & perspectives, even within the same wine region. Our guide was very accommodating, always making sure that we were having the experience that we wanted, and willing to adapt the plans if needed. We would definitely recommend this tour.

Wonderful day through the Tuscany country side. Visited 2 wineries, stopped for a picnic snack in the countryside, and at the end we stopped at the small town Montefioralle, We had lunch in one of the wineries. Our tour guide, Antonella, was very knowledgeable and made the tour a great experience. Thank you!

Our semi private Tuscan wine safari turned out to be a private tour as just the 2 of us & our fabulous guide Nic. We visited the first winery & we were very lucky that it was the 1st day of harvest so we got to see the very first load of grapes for the season! Magnificent wines for tasting by an extremely knowledgeable sommelier & a tour of the very impressive cellars & wine making process. Off road next to a beautiful picnic spot for a delicious snack with more wine! The 2nd winery had great wines & this was our lunch spot which was delicious. Great views while having lunch & lots of great conversation with Nic & the staff at the winery. Final stop is a medieval village with NO tourists - it was so wonderful to experience! This tour was possibly the best experience we have had with a tour & definitely a highlight of our European holiday.

Took this tour on May 25, 2023.

Wine tours were in picturesque, hillside locations.

Driver parked in the middle of a field for the picnic. The rear wheel of the jeep got stuck in the middle of a ditch. My husband and the other gentleman on the tour had to help him figure out how to get it out of the ditch, sitting on the back, or pushing the jeep. After he got the rear wheel out, he proceeded to reverse and got the front wheel stuck requiring assistance again.

After lunch it started raining and they ended our tour.

When my travel agent sent my complaint for a partial refund that they did not take us to the abbey or the castle, the operator responded that they drove us to the castle and we declined to go in as a group and did not mention the abbey.

I asked the operator to check the company car/phone GPS because it would have shown we were never taken to the castle or the abbey. I never received a response.

I think they ran out of time after getting stuck in the ditch and weren't able to deliver everything which was supposed to be included.

This tour is expensive for what you receive and resulted in a safety issue which the guides were not equipped to handle for our tour. I went on much better tours elsewhere and would not book any other tours with this company and will certainly not recommend this tour or tour company.

Dear Mrs. Rosanna, Thank you for bringing your concerns to our attention regarding your recent wine tour experience. We apologize for any inconveniences you encountered and appreciate the opportunity to address them. We regret that the driver's choice of parking location for the picnic led to the jeep getting stuck in a ditch. Our drivers are experienced professionals, but sometimes unexpected situations can arise. We apologize for any inconvenience caused and appreciate the assistance provided by your husband and the other gentleman to resolve the issue. Regarding the visit to the abbey and castle, we want to clarify that the information provided regarding your travel agent's refund request are inaccurate. The request specifically mentioned the missing visit to the castle and did not include any reference to the abbey. Therefore, our response focused solely on the castle. However, please note that the situation regarding both the abbey and the castle is the same. During the second part of the tour, which included the visit to these two attractions, it started to rain. As our tour is designed to proceed even in the event of rain, we continued with the tour. However, upon reaching the vicinity of the destinations, all passengers expressed their preference to forgo that part of the tour due to the heavy rain and return back. The decision was made collectively for the safety and comfort of all participants. We followed your suggestion to check the GPS records of the vehicle you were traveling in, which confirmed that the tour unfolded as described above. We want to emphasize that we promptly communicated this information to your travel agent, and the email correspondence is still available in our archives. Therefore, it is incorrect to state that you did not receive a response from us. We apologize if you felt the tour did not meet your expectations in terms of value for money. We continuously evaluate and refine our offerings to ensure that our customers receive a high-quality experience. Your feedback will assist us in making necessary adjustments to enhance the overall value provided. We regret that your experience with us fell short of your expectations. We take your concerns seriously and will use this feedback to make the necessary adjustments to deliver exceptional experiences to our future customers. We value your patronage and hope to have the opportunity to restore your faith in our services. Best regards, Florencetown - Towns of Italy Customer Care
