About
This tour is the best walking tour that you can ever have in Florence. It is a great introduction to the city for both first-timers as well as returners. It covers the main attractions of the city and also the hidden gems that are well and truly "off the beaten track" and gives you facts you wouldn't know or notice walking around by yourself. While you'll be led through the city you will be even accompanied through three centuries full of thrilling stories about the Medici family who influenced Florence’s history; little by little the Renaissance will become alive in front of you. You will not be involved in a boring, neutral lecture, but in a pleasant stroll through the center of Florence, in a friendly and easy-going atmosphere. This tour, except the small commission for TripAdvisor, is based on donations. This means that if you like the tour you can leave a tip (some people give 10€, some people give 50€, you choose the price) to reward the guide.

One of best walking tours I’ve ever experienced (if not the best). 2 hours just flew by. Manuel was absolutely brilliant and super knowledgeable. His passion and energy for sharing stories about the city was contagious and his storytelling was spectacular. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who’s interested in Florence’s history and wants to understand the city from an extremely unique perspective.

An excellent entertaining and informative tour of Florence not to be missed. Manuel gave a really interesting and thorough introduction to the history of the Medici family around the streets of Florence, explaining subtle clues in the architecture that really brought the history of the city to life. Made us think very differently and be more aware of our surroundings. Not to be missed early in your visit and a great value investment of two hours for very little money

Wonderful tour from Manuel. We highly recommend doing this tour during the initial part of the trip as Manuel will explain different historical aspects of the city and give you a real perspective of the city felts about 500 years ago. His storytelling is phenomenal and super engaging and we also loved the awesome local restaurant and bar recommendations!

Manuel provided the perfect tour. By creating the tour around a story it prevented it from feeling like a litany of facts - making it engaging from start to finish. I would highly recommend booking the tour at the beginning of your stay in Florence, because Manuel will provide some recommendations for places to visit/eat, but more importantly the tour will shift your perspective of the city helping you see it through fresh eyes.

Manuel was a really really cool tourguide or as he would describe himself: a storyteller; which is true! He told as all the interesting stuff about the medici family and the City in times of the middleages and Renaissance in a perfect amount so that you know what you need to know without telling endless information. I would recommend this tour to everyone who wants to see this City not only as a tourist but tries to imagine it during earlier ages. Big applaus!!

We take walking tours almost everywhere we travel and this was definitely one of the best. Almost any tour guide worth their salt can talk continuously about their city but not many can keep a group of 20+ enthralled like Camilla, a native Florentine who used to work as a university art historian. In our tour which focused on the art history of Florence, the Medici family and the rivalry between Michelangelo and Leonardo da Vinci, her passion for Florence and it’s rich history was unmistakable and by the end of our 90 minute walk our group of four teenagers were lamenting that the tour was already over, and asking if they could join the food and culture focused tour the next day. It was an unforgettable experience.

Manual spoke perfect English which I find important in a tour guide since I’m still working on my Italian proficiency. I did not know what to expect when I arrived at the meeting point snd I was pleasantly surprised at the cordiality and enthusiasm Manual displayed towards me and others in the group.
I’m here for language school with my friend and we decided to take a break from our books so we could learn about the city’s history we have passed by while walking to our classes.
The history of Florence as presented by Manual was at times whimsical and anecdotal as well as educational.
We liked the way the information was presented so much so that we spoke to Manual afterwards to make arrangements for a tour of the Uffizi museum tomorrow with one of his colleagues.
Manual also had a hand printed list of cheap eats and other tips to make our stay a bit more economical and pleasant. He encouraged us to take a photo of his list snd we plan on using this for the rest of our stay. He also told us what the must sees are and what to skip. I wholeheartedly recommend him!

I really enjoyed the tour! It is full of crazy anecdotes about renaissance/middle-Ages Florence. The guide has great story-telling skills, and they really made an effort to provide informations that you wouldn't find by yourself elsewhere. The guide was obviously passionated about the city and its History, which of course makes the tour more interesting.
I recommend this activity that feels very authentic and will make you learn a lot about Florence.

Manuel is an excellent guide. He conveyed the historical content, also has a great deal of knowledge and professionalism including humor that he incorporated into the tour. The day before the meeting, he sent sms with his phone number so he can answer any question including with a reminder of when and where to meet. I really enjoyed the tour with him and if I only had more time I sure would have signed up for another tour with him. Thanks
