Lovely day trip with Giovanni as the tour guide
Hello Giovanni - thank you for taking care of us on our tour of the Tuscan countryside and local towns of Pienza and Montepulciano. We also enjoyed the little coffee stop in Chiusure where we chatted with other visitors who were enjoying the break in the sun. You were charming and responded to all our questions, even the architectural ones! We loved the lunch at the organic farm and wine tasting. My birthday was memorable because the tour was well planned and not too overwhelming. Thank you again and stay well!

Best way to learn to love Siena
Loved this tour! We joined on our first full day in Siena and Marella didn’t waste any time bringing the city to life! She gave us insights into both current and historical Siena, the contrade, Palio and so much more. Ending the tour in the Duomo, we were shown little pieces of history we would not have known to look for ourselves. The tour gave us a much better appreciation for the city and laid the groundwork for an amazing stay.

      Must do in Tuscany!
Our first time in Tuscany, absolutely loved the experience. Our guide Marco was brilliant. Knowledgeable, personable and made the day thoroughly enjoyable! The three wineries we visited were unique and meeting the wine makers for the tastings was extra special. Would recommend this tour to anyone and everyone visiting the region.

      Perfect Experience
This 8 person tour was perfect! I’m coming from Napa, CA and was expecting perhaps something my touristy but it wasn’t at all that way. It was very intimate, curated and unique. We stopped at an abbey first, then made our way to the first winery - which was beautiful and the wines were delicious. Then headed to a second winery where lunch was served. We made a short stop in Montalcino and finally a last stop ant a third winery to end the day. Giovani made the trip extra special because he was so knowledgeable about the wine and the region. He was also just a super cool person to be around. Highly recommend!

Highly recommended. Mattias was an amazing guide. His knowledge, experience and opinions about wine made the trip thoroughly enjoyable. All three wineries served interesting wine that gave you a good understanding the different characteristics found in the Montalcino region. The lunch was also great. Well worth the money

      Great Day Trip
We had an enjoyable and memorable day on this trip. Julianna, our guide, was awesome. We appreciated the small group on our trip. There were so many highlights - San Gimignano, lunch at the winery, the alabaster artist, and Volterra! We highly recommend this trip!

      Nice wine tour
We visited three wineries and had a lunch at one of the wineries which was owned by an American and her Italian husband. The lunch and the winery was really nice and a highlight of the day along with our amazing guide Mattia. Thanks to him we learned a whole lot about both wine and wine making. Would definitely recommend!

Best tour of the Brunello region we have ever encountered
This was the second time we ventured out for a wine tasting and by far this was the best. Our guide, Marco, claimed it was his first day, but there wasn’t anything to indicate he wasn’t a pro. He was extremely knowledgeable about the area, the history and wine. Very engaging, funny and it made me feel like we were old friends. The tour visited three family owned, small wineries high up in the hills. The first gave us a very thorough understanding of the production process and the strict standards they had to meet. The second, run by the grandson of one of the original members of the Brunello consortium, served excellent wine together with one of the most delicious lunches we had ever tasted. This man is not only a great wine master but an exceptional chef as well. Our third visit took us to a small vineyard run by a brother and sister that took over from their aging parents to keep the tradition alive. Again excellent wine and a good presentation by the host. I highly recommend this company and this tour to anyone visiting the area.

      Fabulous Private Transfer Tour
We booked a private tour with pickup in Rome, a stop in Montepulciano, and drop off in Siena with Tuscan Escapes. From the first email Giorgia was very helpful with organizing and planning our custom daytrip. Andrea, our driver, was nice, punctual, and an excellent driver. They coordinated lunch at a winery for us after our visit to Montepulciano, and allowed us plenty of time to explore the town by ourselves. We also did a group tour from Siena to San Gimignano and Volterra which was also great- I left a separate review for that but I just wanted to note that whether a group or private tour, you are in good hands with Tuscan Escapes!

Siena is absolutely beautiful! Ambra our guide was terrific! Highly recommend!
Siena is a beautiful city, with so much to see! This 2 hour tour offers a nice glimpse of this historic and unique place. The history and pride of the Sienese people was clearly evident in our guide Ambra’s sharing of her city with our group! I highly recommend this tour.

      Beautiful cities, awful leader
These areas of Italy are beautiful. Unfortunately we had a guide (Nello) who did not understand his role on the tour. He asked guests to take his photo, cut out the group’s free time because he wanted to have coffee, he refused to turn on the AC despite a guest’s request, he even tasted the wine on the wine tasting (not much—-but he was our driver!). He also got angry when an older woman on the trip needed to use the restroom. He failed to share the plan each time we stopped, and did not stick to what little guidance we had been given about what to expect. He seriously had no business guiding a tour. I can’t agree with the other positive reviews.

Mattia (our guide) was not only extremely knowledgeable about the wines and wine making process, but also told us about the history and traditions of the places we traveled through and visited. The evening meal at a small wine producer and organic farm was excellent - good local produce and wines. Would highly recommend.

We had one of the most incredible tours during a plethora of travels; the sites, the food, the locations but most of all, the guide William! William was knowledgeable, entertaining, fun and knew exactly how to keep everyone delighted to the very end (a hilarious bus ride karaoke sing along to Abba “Mamma Mia!”) The wine tour was delightful, quick stop in Monteriggioni but just enough time to check off the completed box, a lovely couple of hours in San Giaminano, enough time to know to return and a delicious and plentiful dinner. Everyone in our group from three generations and different countries all had an amazing time. Thank you William, you are the Super Trouper!

Our tour guide, Guglielmo (aka, William, Bill, Billy, Will) was bravissimo! He really takes pride in his work and to communicate in English. We were so impressed with his knowledge of the region, the wines and so many other topics he made this a phenomenal excursion. We shared the van with two couples traveling a month in Italy and another younger couple. The eight of us had so much fun and Guglielmo was the center of it. Our two stops at Terre di Sovernaja owned by Federico Montagnani and Montemorli run by 3 brothers, Carlo, Vittorio and Guido were great. The wines were great and the Pizza Night at Montemorli at a farm-to-table outdoor setting was the best dinner. The pizza was cooked in a wood fire oven with several different toppings. I was so stuffed and wanted to eat more. A great great experience overall.

The countryside was spectacular. I enjoyed free time in the villages, and all that was included on this tour. The high point was the dinner at a local farm/vineyard. First of all, the setting was stunning. But the warm and personal nature of the meal:cooked by the Mother, in their home, was the high point. We sat and ate with the family. It was such an authentic experience , which I will treasure the memory for years to come.

I also want to single out our guide, Necco (sp?). He went out of his way to ensure that I had safe transportation home. That was above and beyond what he had to do, at the end of a very long day. My sincere thanks go out to him.

The tour was great with two major highlites. First was a small family, multi- generational vineyard that still employs traditional Italian grape growing and wine producing techniques, known as La Fattoria di Montemorli. During the winery tour, we saw and learned a lot about not just the wine, but also about their family and history, and they were all very personable and willing to engage us and share thier lives with us. The tasting itself was great and included wines, their olive oil, and some light appetizers all hosted in a great outdoor tasting room with great views of the vineyards and surrounding farms. The second highlite was a wonderful dinner at Carmela's B&B that featured wonderfully authentic and tradtional meal. Delicious! Our tour guide was Daniel and his passion for the tour sites and knowledge of the area, its history and wine production added another layer of insights and enjoyment to this tour. He took us down some lesser traveled roads that allowed for rarer vantage points and a unique experience. We would highly recommend this tour!

This was one of our favorite tours while we were in Italy for 3 weeks. Daniel was an excellent tour guide - knowledgeable of the wine making process, the local area, and back roads. Our highlight of the trip was the stop at a vineyard run by 3 brothers - all on site and willing to chat with us! They provided tasty appetizers to go along with the wine tasting which helped fill our tummies until our delicious and authentic Italian dinner at the Carmela's B&B. Our stops at San Gimignano and Monteriggioni were quick but sufficient. We highly recommend this tour!

Our guide, Guillermo, was so knowledgeable and fun to interact with that our time just flew by. The private wine tasting was excellent as well as the sunset farm dinner later. Being able to meet the owners of these small businesses and hear about their livelihoods really makes one appreciate the hard work that goes into producing quality products. San Gimignano was a delight to walk around. We had plenty of time on our stops to explore and it was nice to let someone else do the driving and navigating! Well worth the money!!

This is the third time we've taken this tour. Even though the weather was miserable, it was still a wonderful afternoon and evening. Booking and paying was done easily with responsive staff. Our guide Giglielmo was wonderful: knowledgeable, fun and so great at making sure everything worked well for each of us. I can't recommend this company and their tours highly enough. This is the sixth tour we've taken with them in 3 visits to Siena.

Keko was our tour guide and he made the trip perfect from beginning to end. Giving us lots of information about the towns we visited, the Sienese people, the wines and so much more. We went to a lovely winery for a Chianti tasting and on to Monteriggioni and San Gimignano which were just so charming . Had time for exploring and shopping of course! Keko then took us to a Tuscan farmhouse where we all sat down and enjoyed a fabulous dinner together, drinking wine and enjoying all our new friends made on the trip. Thanks to Keko for making this such a wonderful, informational and enjoyable trip!

My brothers and I signed up for this tour and couldn’t have been happier. William was our guide and he was excellent. Not only was he knowledgeable in wines but also in history, politics, and culture. He was funny and had a story for every occasion. The farms we visited were hospitable, the hosts were gracious and passionate about their offerings, and the wines were delicious. An absolute must when travelling to this area.
