Spectacular experience as a wine enthusiast.
One of the most spectacular wine cellars among deep ancient city walls. The tour guide was a pleasure to listen to and he was very knowledgeable. We ordered wine shipped to the USA.

    Amazingly Informative Assisi Tour
After walking around several other towns without a guide, we are so glad that we took this tour. Alessandra shared a wealth of information about the cultural, artistic and religious history of Assisi, along with insights about the life and impact of St. Francis. Alessandra is very personable and it was easy to ask questions given the small size of our group. Highly recommend!

    Very worthwhile tour
We found the duomo in Orvieto to be much more beautiful and impressive than the one in Florence, and the fact that it contains a Eucharistic Miracle makes it even more special. Our guide was knowledgeable and interesting.

    Outstanding Tour
This was an outstanding tour. September 14. Our guide, a former teacher, delighted in telling our group the history of Assisi, from Roman times to present. She knew all the dates and facts, including the stories depicted in paintings. We highly recommend

    Learning from Barbara
Barbara's intimate knowledge of St Francis, of Assisi and of the Basilica were exceptional. Her passion for not only leading, but her teaching made this one of the most remarkable tours.

    Assisi up close and personal
Our guide Alessandra was incredibly knowledgeable and enthusiastic throughout our 3 hour tour. History certainly provides much context for the present day. Seems that the dress code was not being fully enforced, probably due to temperature, but do be respectful about noise, photography, etc. €3 needed for audio equipment for Basilica. Small group is certainly an advantage due to gradients etc and not having to wait for straddlers.

    Fabulous frescoes
As examples of early art they are incredible Sadly St Frances gets very much taken over by your groups with guides giving running commentary via audio mikes - spoils the ambience

    Unreliable operator.
Operator cancelled 24 h before the tasting. Extremely disappointing as our week was planned around this and it was too late to book something else.

    Great tour!
We had an excellent tour with Michelle! The tour entered the Church of Saint Claire, San Rufino, and both floors of Saint Francis. For St Francis we needed to pay an extra €3 for audio tour headsets, bring cash. We learned a lot and enjoyed Michelle's great attitude and good advice, he also spoke excellent English. For people with mobility challenges, the tour moves steadily downhill and does include some stairs.

    My Review.
Awesome sights, but we aren't Catholic so we could have spend a little less time with St. Francis. Don't know why the review has to have 100 characters.

Important site - no photos - be respectful!
We did this tour with a local expert as part of an Insight Vacations 'Country Roads of Italy' tour. You are not allowed to take photos inside - yet other visitors were doing so, were noisy and it was not 'patrolled'. This took away a little of the enjoyment, as our guide was very frustrated with the lack of respect of some visitors.

Even though we had spent previous several days in Rome with all of its highlights, still there were not many experiences that could match our Assisi tour. Our guide Alessandra had a deep knowledge about the city, its religious importance and history, and what’s really important could deliver it in a way that was interesting for us adults as well as our 6 and 9 years old children. Being a local she had also included many lesser known
facts and was very flexible with the tour plan, should she noticed we could benefit in any particular piece of knowledge.

We cannot recommend it highly enough - the tour was one of the pinnacles of our Italy vacations.

We had a fascinating morning with Alessandra, exploring Assisi and learning about its history. It's such a beautiful place, and Alessandra made it come alive for us.
The 'Umbria con me' attention to detail was superb, and booking lunch for us at a local restaurant afterwards was a lovely touch.

We had an exceptional tour of Assisi. Our guide was very engaging and highly knowledgable about the history of the city and the surrounding region. The tour was well worth the price and we look forward to another experience in Umbria with Umbria con Me.

Assisi is a beautiful, spiritually rich gem in Umbria. Its medieval quality endures to this day. I happen to be a Secular Franciscan so all of the churches and other spots related to St. Francis were particularly meaningful to me.
The people are kind and gentle. I felt very safe there even though I was traveling alone.

Recommend: Cathedral of San Ruffino (Sts. Francis and Clare were baptized there.); Basilica of St. Clare (San Damiano Cross that spoke spiritually to St. Francis); Basilica of St. Francis (Frescos by Giotto); Our Lady of the Angels (Catholics will appreciate that the Porziuncola indulgence is available every day); San Damiano.

Hotel LaRocca--simple, clean, inexpensive, wonderful staff.

Bring your walking shoes! Very hilly with cobblestones.

Despite being in Assisi during torrential rain (which made it somewhat difficult to do a tour) we enjoyed our walking tour. Our guide was knowledgable and interesting. He was also very accommodating to some of our specific requests. He even helped us grab a taxi to get back to the area where we had parked. I would recommend this tour.

We did the part-day walking tour of Assisi with Umbria con Me, and we were so fortunate to do it with Allessandra. She grew up in Assisi and is deeply knowledgeable and passionate about its history. But even more, she is very skillful at communicating that knowledge, reminding me of the very best art history instructors I saw at college. She was also very willing to talk off-script as we walked, recommending a place for lunch, discussing the working environment for a guide in Italy and the EU, and other much-appreciated digressions. If we are fortunate enough to get back to Umbria again (and we so want to!) we will definitely connect again with Davide and Umbria con Me and hope that all of his guides are as good a Allessandra!

We met the wonderful Alessandra last week for a private tour of Assisi including the Basilica. We are a family of 5, with kids ages 8, 12, and 14. I'm an artist and this was not my first experience in Assisi, so Alessandra had her work cut out for her to engage my interests as well as the kids. She was amazing, incredibly knowledgeable, personable, and fun to talk to. We learned so much and I left with a filled-in picture of the context for what we were seeing, and deeply inspired.
We did 5 different tours in the last couple of weeks in two different countries, and Alessandra was our absolute favorite.

My wife and I stayed for several days in Assisi, and we took this tour with Andrea B shortly after we arrived. It was an excellent orientation to the city, its history, and the two main religious figures, Saints Francis and Clare. Our guide was very well prepared, and did a great job of setting the people and the places into the historical context. It definitely prepared us for the rest of our time there—highly recommend this tour and this guide.

I booked 2 private transfers with Umbria con me. Our driver was Maurizio both days. His car was clean, comfortable with good AC. He picked us up in Norcia and drove us to right outside Gubbio to Castello di Petroia were we were staying. On the way we stopped in Assisi and had a wonderful guided tour of the Basilica of St Francis ( thanks Michele!).
The second transfer took us from the Castello to Siena by way of Arezzo for lunch.

This company was very easy to work with. The prices were reasonable for our transfers. We appreciated knowing our luggage was safe and secure with Maurizio so we could really enjoy the free time in Assisi and Arezzo. I would definitely use them again!

Antonella was an excellent tour guide. Bright and accommodating to our needs. We were a group of six. You could feel her passion for Assisi and the artwork she shared with us. This is an excellent tour of the town and the historical landmarks. 2 hours.
