Highlights
Explore the lakeside mountain town of Annecy on a tour from Geneva
Traveling by coach means you don’t have to worry about the border crossing
A guide shares aspects of the town you would likely miss if traveling on your own
See highlights like Château Annecy and Le Thiou
What to expect
Depart from a centrally located Geneva pickup point in an air-conditioned coach and embark on a scenic journey across the Switzerland-France border. Gaze at the snow-capped spires of the Alps as your guide sets the historical scene of Annecy, a medieval town shrouded in legend.  As you approach, marvel at the emerald waterways that weave their way around the town hailed as the "Venice of the Alps;" appreciate the picturesque tableau of colorful houses decorated with flower-filled balconies and enjoy some leisurely free time to eat lunch in the town.  Revitalized, set out on a short orientation tour of the town, exploring the Old Town and its charming collection of monuments. Capture photographs beside the renowned Palais de l’Isle, a 12th-century island fortress, and absorb sweeping city vistas from its vertiginous vantage point.   Venture to Château d’Annecy, a grand castle whose hilltop perch affords more impressive panoramas, and peruse the interesting exhibits housed in its museum. See models of Alpine chalets and informative panels on the history of Lake Annecy, and then explore the town independently for the remainder of your tour perhaps strolling down Le Thiou. After thoroughly exploring Annecy, reconvene with your guide and group and relax during the journey back to Geneva.

It was a nice trip, I went with my uncle and my two cousins and we had a fun time, although it was raining a lot and was very cold, it was a beautiful place.

Genève to Annecy
Feb 2020 • Family
We had a great weather in the day so we were very lucky. The drive was about an hour and the tour guide kept talking and chatting about why Genève is a beautiful city, not a town or villege. He has a sense of humor but if the talk has more information or history about the Cities or country that may be more helpful. Annecy is a small and beautiful place and honestly the value of joining the tour is more for the transport. Free time at Annecy was only 2 hours. I think it would be much better if the time can be longer at Annecy. But later we realize that the bus driver and tour guide need to rush back to Genève because they have another tour to take. I can only say Keytour travel is maximizing too much their staff. There is a Flexibus from Genève to Annecy. I wish I knew this earlier to save the money for local tour.

Beautiful little Venice in the Alps. Just stunning
Jan 2020 • Couples
Visited Annecy on a cold, crisp but sunny January day. Wow, was it beautiful. Rustic buildings, quaint shops, restaurants, cafes and chocolate shops. The lake is stunning with a view of towering mountains. We took the half day trip with Sky tours from Geneva and the tour guide was fantastic. Very knowledgeable and friendly. The coach drive there had some lovely views and was too long. Annecy is simply stunning. Would definitely recommend this trip for a laid back, lazy half day sightseeing.

This was a great tour. Our guide Gabriel was friendly and knowledgable and went out of his way to provide commentary during the drive and to boost our spirits about the rainy/cloudy day. Annecy was beautiful and well-worth the trip.

This was an unexpected tour I'm not going to lie I didn't read the traveling portion but Im happy I didn't because upon the drive I noticed how beautiful the scenery was. The tour guide was awesome and was very knowledgeable about Geneva and Annecy. This place was so beautiful and perfect it was about a 45 min drive by bus. But definitely take this trip.

I’m from The Bahamas.
I thoroughly enjoyed my 1/2 day trip to Annecy. Our tour guide, Gabriel was very entertaining. He knew the history of Annecy and was able to answer questions. He’s fluent in English, Spanish and of course French and was able to converse with the group. Everyone in my group was pleasant and followed Gabriel’s instructions and advice. We were shown the main attractions of Annecy and he showed us the spots to visit and where to take pictures whilst we roamed around on our own, during “free time”. We had enough time to do a little of everything. Everything was Awesome including the weather. I’ll be back someday with my entire family. Annecy is truly the jewel of France.

Annecy is worth a visit
Oct 2019
Took a half day tour to Annecy with Key Tours from Geneva on Sunday. It didn't take long to get there, about 40 minutes I think and the drive is scenic.
Annecy is set on a beautiful lake surrounded by the Alps, a canal runs through the old town which is well preserved with medieval buildings. The market in the centre of town was very busy and crowded, not sure if that only happens on a Sunday.
After the short guided tour up to the castle, we had just under 2 hours to wander around on our own. This is enough time to have a look around and grab food on the go.
It was definitely worth a visit and the lakeside views are stunning. I noticed that other reviewers have commented on the guide (Gabriel) and have to say that I can see that he could annoy people with his non stop talking but you are not obliged to stay with him once arriving at Annecy and as long as you get back to the minibus on time, could forego his guided tour.
We got back to Geneva just before 2pm. I would recommend this trip, I enjoyed it very much. Don't forget your passport as Annecy is in France!

Good morning and thank you for your review. It is a pleasure to hear that you enjoyed the visit to Annecy on Sunday with the market. Sunday is a perfect day to enjoy a day around the Alps. Gabriel tries to do his job by giving information about the tour. He is passionate about his work and that's why he talks a lot. But as you say you do not have to stay with him once on site which also allows you to be free enough during free time. Do not forget your passport is in France! Lol thanks for the reminder! We hope to see you again!

Annecy is a gem
Sep 2019 • Friends
Annecy is a quaint town to visit. However, do not take this tour if your guide is Gabriel. The comments he gave on the bus ride were senseless and hardly informative. You are better of reading about the place and doing it on your own. roundtrip busfare from Geneva is about $20. I’ve taken a lot our guided tours, this ranks the worst. Perhaps, Key Tours should just have an audio guide that can give a more professional commentary about Annecy.

Good morning, We are sorry to read that you were disapointed with our tour. We do offer guided tours or independant with audioguides because we understand the guide has a personality that maybe not everybody likes. However, we also have good reviews on him so I guess it depends on the person, he still went to the guide school so his speech is professional and he knows what he is talking about. Moreover, the guided walking tour is only 45 minutes and then you have 2 hours of free time to enjoy the city so we are very sorry to read your review just because you didn't like the guide. About the public bus, it's actually 20.- CHF one way and the bus is not direct so it takes about 1h40 instead of 45 minutes with us and it doesn not run on weekends. We wish you a nice holiday.

Annecy half-day on Sunday
Sep 2019 • Solo
This trip was amazing. I booked it from Geneva on a Sunday morning because a lot of Geneva is closed on sundays. It was a fantastic idea not only because Annecy was beautiful but because they had a farmer's market going on (just keep in mind they use Euros in France not Swiss Franks). They had fresh bread, fruits, veggies, cheeses, sausages, clothes, jewelry etc. It was great. I also listened to the other reviews and brought my own lunch with me and made a picnic of it since most people said there's not enough time to eat at a restaurant. Once i got back to Geneva, I still had time to go to Victoria Hall for a Sunday evening concert.

Nice Daytrip
Took this tour to Annecy on a Sunday because everything in Geneva is closed. It was a great little getaway. Leave at 9am, back by 2pm. The city is very picturesque— though one canal does not a Venice make 😜. It’s market day on Sunday so the streets are packed. Bought some great cheese and bread. The tour— we had Gabriel, and he was fantastic. He had great commentary to and from Annecy on the bus ride (quite comfortable). My favorite was his comments on the French customs officials!! He also brought us into town and made a quick few stops. That left 2 hours on your own. A lot of the restaurants do not open until noon, so getting back to the bus by 12:40 is tight. This would be a much better experience if it was 2 hours longer— time for a museum or boat ride.
