- ChristineA2930 contributionsGreat Way to Get to Liechenstein! We enjoyed this trip. First, it was nice that it started at 11:00 am and not super early like many long day trips often do. Our guide spoke both Spanish and English as it was a small group with 2 groups English speaking and 2 groups Spanish speaking. At first I thought the repeated translations would bother me, however, it was fine. Our guide was attentive and gave good suggestions for our stops in both Rappersvile, and Liechrnstein which were greatly appreciated. We knew the Heidiland park was closed this time of year so that did not bother us. We loved seeing Liechenstein and the time we had there was enough for our interests.Written 2 February 2025

- Anil J0 contributionsWinter WonderlandSwitzerland visit 🇨🇭 was a dream come true, our first Stop was Luzern, a well-preserved old town, with medieval architecture and the Lake Luzern a cobalt blue lake surrounded by snow-capped Alps. We stayed at a beautiful Inn called Swiss Dewa which was just opposite the Lake Luzern and near the Railway station. The view of the lake was just marvelous. We had planned a trip to Grindelwald a Glacier village at the Switzerland’s Bernese Alps, which is a popular gateway for the Jungfrau Region situated at the Peak of Europe, with skiing in winter and hiking in summer. It's also a base for mountain-climbing ascents up the iconic north face of Eiger Mountain. We had a choice on reaching the Grindelwald station to either stay back and sight see the Grindelwald village or go up to the Juangfraujoch the Peak of Europe. We took a train to the Juangfrau and from there by gondola to the Juangfraujoch the Peak of Europe marveling at the beautiful panoramic view of the Swiss Alps with the scattered of snow clad roofs and holiday makers out in the sun skiing or sledgeing in the snow. The 2nd day we decided to stop at the Grindelwald village for Sightseeing as this place offers a very wide variety of activities like a 3 D experience of Bunjee jumping wch was a thrill a minute experience of experiencing gliding across the Swiss Alps while actually only sitting on a seat with a 3 D glasses. We also trekked to the Grindelwald first on an iron bridge to the see and take pictures of the surrounding peaks and marvel at the panoramic views and also see the world famous Toblerone mountain, which was just Epic. There was a stop in between traveling by bus to Grindelwald , a beautiful valley called Interlaken is known as the adventure capital of Switzerland. Activities like bungee jumping, canyoning, and skydiving attract thrill-seekers from all over the world. We had a marvelous time amidst the Swiss Alps, like a Dream. SWITZERLAND is a must visit for Holiday revelers and adventure seekers.Written 16 January 2025

- 752khalidr0 contributionsgrindle worldGrindelwald village is 1,034 m (3,392 ft) above sea level. Mentioned for the first time in 1146, it has become an important tourist destination of both Switzerland and the Alps since the golden age of alpinism in the 19th century. It is overlooked by a section of the Bernese Alps from the Wetterhorn to the Eiger, which creates a natural barrier. Together with the adjacent valley of Lauterbrunnen, the valley of Grindelwald forms part of the Jungfrau Region of the Bernese Oberland, between Interlaken and the main crest of the Bernese Alps. Similarly to Lauterbrunnen, Grindelwald is connected to Interlaken by the Bernese Oberland Railway and is the start of the Wengernalp Railway, leading to Kleine Scheidegg. The latter resort is the start of the Jungfrau Railway, the highest railway in Europe and a gateway to the Jungfrau-Aletsch protected area.Written 11 December 2024

- bbmaxwell0 contributionsA truly amazing day tour with Hans and CarstenThis tour was the most educational and definitely one of the best I've been on with a trip advisor booking. The group was small so we were able to meet and talk with the other people in the group. The tour bus was very comfortable, and the driver, Carsten, was such a smooth driver that I did not have to take my motion sickness pill. As for our guide, Hans, he was an expert of the areas we visited, sharing all the history and details with the group. Hans used the speaker system while narrating, so it was very clear and audible throughout the tour. The information that Hans provided to inform us of the history and background of the places we visited was a basic expectation of a great tour, and Hans met every aspect of my expectations. Hans was definitely an experienced professional at guiding tourists like us. Many thanks and appreciation for a job well done. I would definitely book another tour with Grayline Zurich.Written 2 December 2024

We enjoyed every minute of it. 11h is solid but just means most value for your buck as every minute is filled with amazing sights, laughters and activities. Our tour guide Kid was brilliant. His energy was contagious and his dedication to the group to ensure everyone is looked after and happy, is second to none. He is different to most travel guides, unique and quirky. He speaks fluent English and Swiss German. He knew the best shops, shared his knowledge and encouraged photography which is usually the most difficult part of a tour. He managed to keep 33 people together and made it look effortlessly easy (I’m sure it wasn’t). One guide, 11h, 33 people, lots to see and do = respect and appreciation. I highly recommend this your and if you got Kid as a tour guide, be assured that he will take care of everyone, with plenty of photos for those life-long memories.

Best tour we had from Zürich! Great way to spend the entire day away from the city and explore the country side and the top of Europe! Our tour guide Kid is as amazing, as all the reviews say! He is high energy and takes great care of the group. He does have a strong personality and unique sense of humor, but I found it very “mama bear”-like. He is very detailed and thorough. Does his best to remember names and take pictures for all his guests, especially those who are solo. While Kid was thorough in his explanation of the itinerary, I do wish there was a print out of the days schedule, especially since there was 3 “different” tours in the us to start with. This would also lessen the repetition and running around Kid has to do. Also, I wish they would include a slight disclaimer about the altitude sickness in the booking info.
But overall, amazing experience. Best time I had on our trip to the amazing Switzerland!

We did the round trip of going up on the train and back down on the Eiger Express. Takes longer going up on the train but scenery is amazing. Once you get to the top you just follow the signs. Needs a queuing system for the lift up to the top as it’s a crush with no organisation at all. Doesn’t feel safe at times. Views from the top are amazing though but wrap up warm it was -13!
Came back down to the ice palace which is lovely and very talented sculptors have carved beautiful statues, very slippy underfoot though as you would expect.
We came down to the restaurant and could smell the lovely curry however we joined the queue and we were told it was for Indians only and we had to go elsewhere, found that very rude! This was from an employee.
We ate at the other half of the restaurant food was tasty. There is also a noodle bar.
Came back down on the Eiger express which is stunning but only good if you like heights. It isn’t a cheap day out at all but value for money when you look at where you have been.

Bus ride was from Zurich, stopped at Interlaken, then to junfraujoch. Kid was the guide and he is good, you need to have a sense of humor with him as he is quite straight forward but because of him we survived the top. The only problem was at the top of Europe. When we got to the top is when the crazy began. It was full of Indian tourists, speaking loud, shoving and pushing us into elevators and into the cable car. There was no peace at the top and it’s horrible with no crowd control and no manners. People were acting like animals instead of behaving in an orderly fashion. If you are spending $, and want a peaceful experience, this is not the place for sure. Everything else was good but not the top of Europe. Also please be of good health, else you will feel dizzy and out of sorts with less air and the crazy crowd. Please have some crowd control at the top, why would you let people behave this way after spending so much $.

There’s something for everyone up here. The sphinx observatory was wonderful views on both sides, and is quite a thrill to walk round if you don’t have a head for heights, since the floor is a see through metal design.
The snow fun was so much more than that. Both the zipline and the sledges and ringos were very good value for money, so is the Lindt Chocolate store at the end of your “tour”.
When we finally dragged ourselves back inside we went through the Ice Palace inside the glacier. No one fell over thank goodness but I’d recommend decent trainers at least as this place really is made of ice!
We came up on the Jungfraubahn and left on the Eiger Express for the full experience.
It’s an amazing trip and we’ve come away with many memories!!

Don’t mess this chance! Book this tour! Our tour guide Kid keeps you entertained the entire tour and would have you laughing non-stop. We had previously booked a different tour with the same guide but after hearing about this one, we were able to change (paying the difference) and join the group. You get the full Swiss atmosphere from the warm summer landscape to the cold snow covered mountain. This tour was definitely one of the highlights from my Switzerland trip. It may appear expensive but it’s definitely money well-spent!! No regret!

What a great trip. Our guide was fabulous. From making sure everyone got the great photos, to making sure nobody was left behind, there is nothing better to make a trip memorable. The 12 hours went by so quickly because our guide kept us well informed every step of our journey. The photos attached were all taken by our guide. Had a great day. We also did trip to Mt. Titlis on another day and would say that Jungfraujoch is by far the better trip.

When planning our trip, this was what we were looking forward to the most. We knew it was expensive, but the reviews all said it was worth it. They were right. We had originally booked with another tour company but after reading the reviews about Kid, we cancelled and booked with Gray Line. We crossed our fingers and it worked because we got Kid! He did NOT disappoint. He loves his job and you can tell! He made everyone feel like they were important and ensured that everyone had the best shots, whether it was of the scenery, or of themselves waving from the train windows or at the top of the mountain. He was full of energy and very protective of his group. He wanted everyone to have a memorable experience, knowing that it was likely the only time they would be able to do this. We didn’t have the best weather (the clouds prevented us from having a great view of the valleys below) but the sun shone on us a little bit and Kid seemed to know the best time to be outside to get great views of the mountain peaks. This excursion was absolutely fantastic and we would save up to do it again in a heartbeat. Even with the dreary weather, the views, the train, the snow, the ice, the gondola, and everything in between were just wonderful.
In addition to Kid, Gray Line itself was great. They had comfortable coaches and allowed us to stow our luggage in the hold and to disembark in Lucerne when we stopped there since that was our next destination after Zurich. It was our second excursion with them and we highly recommend them to anyone. They made the excursions easy and fun.

The scenery was wonderful, and we were blessed with favorable weather for viewing. That said, the experience once we got to the top was less than enjoyable. The building is exceptionally crowded, and opportunities to get something basic to eat or drink were very limited. I would encourage anyone to pack their own lunch or risk going hungry. Additionally, from the time we left the top until the time we returned to Zurich, there was no opportunity to use a rest room. It seems like a brief stop in Interlaken to do so would not have affected the schedule to any measurable extent.

What a fun filled day. Kid was our guide and he did a spectacular job of keeping us in line and safe and on point to see everything. He knows what he’s doing, although you don’t want to at first, pay attention to him. The sights are incredible and the cogwheel train and then the cable car was unforgettable. And it really wasn’t cold. Many of us felt dizzy but he urged us to take our coats off and that helped a lot. Great day!

What is the temperature like at the top/ observatory and ice palace in the summer usually? We are not sure if we need winter jackets at the top.
Written 4 July 2023
I did not have a winter jacket; I had a jean jacket and a hoodie, and I actually got an extra t-shirt to wear because I started feeling slightly chilly. So I think, you do not need winter jackets, but you do need like a mid-season jacket and maybe some warm goose down vests to take with.

When would we have an opportunity to eat lunch during the day trip? I don't see time allotted on the itinerary?
Also what would the expected temperature be at the beginning of June for this trip?
Written 17 February 2023
There were two times we had the opportunity to grab a snack/lunch. Before the mountain I think the spot was hooters and we had 30 minutes. At the mountain, When we went last year folks also had time to grab lunch if you were following the guide or going at your own pace. I think there were 2 lunch options to choose from, and they had a pretty wide menu option. The lunch spot is near the meetup spot.

Hi everyone, I need some advises please, we`re planning to travel to Lucerne by the end of march, just me and my mom, she is 65, do you think this trip will worth or would be too risky? I mean considering the weather, also I`m not intending to pay for a guide, do we need to take trails to get the glacier view? Is there a way to go from Lucerne to jungfroujoch or it`s better to departure from Interlaken for example? Thanks.

Just completed a trip with my friend who is 75 with limited energy. Took Viator day trip from Lucerne to Jungfroujoch (see my review.) It was her favorite part of our trip. Bring coat and gloves. Its chilly. Enjoy!
