    Interesting museum
The museum was very interesting as it gave us an insiders view of the life of a prostitute. Made me realize how hard a life this can be but very lucrative.

    Complete change of perspective!
We visited this attraction at night and found it incredibly interesting, educating and thought provoking. It really helped understand the culture of the city and the people behind the faces in the window. The audio guides were very good and staff were extremely helpful. It was very busy but this did not take away from the experience. Some complained at having to queue outside despite having pre-booked tickets, but this didn’t take long and we didn’t mind at all. Definitely add to your must visit list!

Interesting history behind open prostitution in Amsterdam
Right on the main drag of Red Light District, can't miss it, next to the live sex show, admission 14.50 euros, small but definitely interesting if you like learning about this type of profession

Definitely worth the visit if your interested in more than just what's behind the red lighted windows
Walking around the red light district left us with a lot of questions about the history behind the red light district and those who work there. Here we found some answers. Taking a break from wandering and getting a little behind the scenes info made our stay much more worthwhile then just walking around gawking lime the masses.

    Amazing
Great museum, very informative and fun to go to. Myself and my partner really enjoyed our time there, I’d say it took about 45mins to walk round.

    Great Little Museum
Fascinating little museum within the Red Light District which tells a story about what life was like for sex workers. Not the biggest museum you will ever visit but we’ll worth a look around while in Amsterdam

Probably worth a look in but don't go out of your way.
Went here on the recommend of friends found it okay walked around for 15 or so minutes was allowed to take photos so had a couple of photo ops, a lot of it is about peoples experiences so if you want to sit and listen to experiences could spend some time here believe we were in and out in 20 minutes.

    You simply must visit
Such an interesting eye opening thought provoking experience. A real opportunity to look at life from the other side of the glass. Excellent museum, shocked, amused, entertained, educated and informed all in one visit.

    Interesting
Lots of bad reviews but we took our time & found it really interesting. More about prostitution than any history of sex.

    giant rip-off
This is a giant rip-off for the high price - about 14E. It is very small and hard to walk around without being next to someone else. The attendant at the entrance was disinterested and just handed out audio guides. Some interesting information about the average length of a client visit and the number of male and female prostitutes. I would skip this and just walk the streets and go into the shops and you have a better experience.

    Great!
Amazing museum located in the red light district. Very cheap tickets compared to other attractions! Insightful sad stories about the sex workers but also some happy ones. One of my favourite activities while in Amsterdam. 🇳🇱

    Insightful experience
Really interesting and insightful museum. Learnt lots about the red light district. Only thing I would say is that it is very small and you are done within about 30 minutes. I would recommend though if not done previously!

I didn't have any preconceptions before coming to this museum beyond wanting to do one associated with the taboo subject. Amsterdam has a few erotic/sex themed museums and the concept of hearing from the workers' experiences sounded up our street. The audio tour confused me at first but that was likely due to me not paying enough attention when handed the device! You scan your audio equipment at marked locations and listen to it like a phone to hear someones' first hand encounters that are associated with the various rooms which are of a pre-existing brothel so that you can see how and where ladies worked and their thoughts and experiences. I liked it all, but was a little frustrated due to it being as busy as it was. When people properly pay attention in a museum, it can take a while to wait up for them to move out of the way so that you too can read, or wait for something to be free. This is a very small venue, so anyone claustrophobic - especially with crowds, may wish to think again. This is because so many of the houses and businesses are untouched through time, and older houses etc just weren't all that large!

We wanted to do this museum because we were so interested in how the red Light District started. The museum is so factual and answered pretty much all our questions we had. You go round with an audio guide which is handy and an easier way to look round a museum. Would definitely recommend visiting here if you’re curious as to what the red light district in titles.

This was a great museum to give you background on the district and the profession. It was very enlightening and the audio guide is included within the ticket price. The only downside is that it’s fairly small and the ticket price seemed slightly too high given the size.

The tour literally could take you 10-15 mins, from start to finish. The rooms are really small and if it’s busy, you can barely move. There are video snippets and photos; little artefacts and a couple of photo/prop opportunities but it just wasn’t my thing at all.

Really interesting to learn about the red light district. It was different to the other museums in that you have an audio guide, so it was nice for it to be unique as some others are a lot of the same. Didn’t take too long, but felt like it was long enough. A touch on the pricey side if I’m honest but I did enjoy.

It's horrible, so simple. Very small. And you don't learn anything from it. We had chosen a Dutch audio guide, but we had to listen to an irritating Russian accent. I had booked a timeslot, so we could just stand in line for half an hour!!!
It was also far too busy, you were pushed forward like herd of cattle...
The information panels looked like they were put together by toddlers. Very unprofessional and very amateurish... The staff was also unfriendly and uninterested, they don't like doing their job exactly... we were out of there within 20 minutes, it really doesn't make sense
I sent a complaint via email, still no response. Don't go in here! Tourist trap!

Decided to go here on the first day as I knew it was something that didn’t require pre booked tickets. It was a long wait but the lovely lady on the desk gave us a discount because of this. It was very Informative and the audio devices are a good idea. The only thing I was suggest would be limit the amount of people at a time as it was very crowded and could f read a lot of the information on the walls as well as the gift shop being super busy

This is a recommended museum in all guide books and blogs etc. Been and have no idea why. It is quite boring to be honest. A Russian lady talks about her life working there but not with anything of real interest to say. Inside very tacky. If it had been 5eur to get in would have been OK it was cheap what do you expect but for just under 15 nope not worth it.

The actual museum is very interesting, be sure to read all the plaques and information around would be our advice! We spent about 45 minutes throughout, which was longer than most. The stories from Inga are interesting and humorous in places. As others have said, it is very cramped. The company would be better to stick to allotted times so that there isn’t too many people. We did come earlier than our time slot but again if we had to stick to our allocated time, perhaps our experience would’ve improved from less people. It was difficult as well because there is a narrow corridor with all sorts of information on the walls, which is not wide enough for two people, but when multiple people want to read the info, it becomes difficult! But regardless, it was very interesting and worth doing.

Interesting, informative small museum. Small spaces, crowded, a little rushed-would’ve liked more time to read evrything.. Recommend Audio guide -you get much more information. They were careful not to make it too vulgar, done in good taste-as far as the subject matter allows.
