About
Discover the real Netherlands in this amazing tour through Zaanse Schans, Edam, Volendam, and Marken – the jewels of the Dutch countryside. The visit starts in Zaanse Schans, where you will be able to take pictures of typical Dutch windmills that are still in use today. Afterward, we will drive to the Waterland area, passing through the beautiful villages from this part of the country: Edam, Volendam, and Marken. In Edam, we will walk through historic sites like the square where the famous Cheese Market used to take place. Then, near Volendam, we will visit a local cheese producer, where the cheese master will explain how they produce Gouda and Edam cheeses. In the clog factory, you will discover the secrets of this typical Dutch shoe. Then, travel back in time to the 17th century as we walk by cozy fishermen houses in Marken, the fishing harbor, and the protestant church. Join us for an unforgettable day visiting Edam, Volendam, Marken, and Zaanse Schans.

Lovely day out with good company and good food at a stop off which was recommended by the Tour Guide. We had an amazing few hours out of Amsterdam. Tour guide and driver were excellent. Would definitely use this company again if in Amsterdam again.

Aug 2020 • Couples
I highly recommend this trip. It ran really smoothly. It was well organised and very informative. The villages we visited were so pretty. We would have liked more time on Volendam we only had around 40
Minutes. The whole trip was the highlight of our week. Thank you

Thoroughly enjoyed our day trip outside of Amsterdam. Our guide Laura was informative, lively and interesting. Felt we had just enough time in each town without being rushed. The overall length of the tour was just right. We saw so much for such a small price, I highly recommend this tour.

Great informative tour at a great price!

I took my 20 year old on the tour as an easy way to see the 4 towns outside Amsterdam on March 8th. She is not a fan of "tours" but this made sense on our first day to jump aboard and let the driver and tour guide get us to four very pretty towns. She was happily surprised and enjoyed listening to our guides information about each place. We also had time to run off on our own for some fun pictures and a good lunch!

Inexpensive Tour for Solo Travelers!
I was looking for a tour that didn't break the bank as I saw for the other ones. I was trying to stay in a budget for some touring things to do before arriving. As a solo traveler who recently got out of college, this tour popped up. When I was looking for a tour for the windmills, I thought this was a nice price! I was also not expecting to learn about the clogs, gouda cheese, and also the history of the Netherlands. Rob was a fantastic guide since he made sure everyone was back on the bus on time and we all had time to explore on our own. I also felt like I wasn't rushed as much because the places we went were pretty small or people kept to the area so we could return back to the tour bus on time. Where we met was by a hotel right across from the Amsterdam Centraal. When we returned, we returned right by my hostel, ClinkNOORD, which was convenient for me personally. This tour was in English, which is my primary language. Things the tour guide or company have power over is weather. So, bring a light rain jacket. It was about 40-45F and it rained in small bursts and winds vary in the Netherlands. It was roughly a 6.5hr tour, which if one breaks it down to just the price of the tour, it is practically $5/hr for a bus and for a tour guide. Only thing is lunch, you get to pick (which is better than at a selected place with limited options) what place you want to eat in Volendam. I would recommend looking before eating at the first place you see. I could've saved €3,5 on the same dish if I got something from a stand, but it was raining a bit when I ordered food at a dine-in seafood place to keep myself dry a bit.
