About
This is a seasonal tour which we only run in springtime, during March, April and the first weeks of May.
On this tour you'll experience the best Holland has to offer in spring: tulips, windmills and countryside. Join us on our wonderful tulip tour through the famous flower fields of Holland near Lisse and the Keukenhof.
We drive with a small van, so we can take you to the best viewpoints and places where the big tour busses can't come. The flower fields around Lisse and Hillegom bloom depending weather circumstances like temperature, rain and sunshine.
Of course we also visit the Keukenhof, the biggest flower garden in the world.
After this amazing flower experience we drive to the windmills of the Zaanse Schans. This is the best place in Holland to see old windmills.
On our way back to Amsterdam we stop at cheese farm Simonehoeve to taste cheese.
We’re flexible so we can adjust the tour to your wishes and lunch is not included but you can decide when and where you want to eat.

- Pinball5730 contributionsCountryside of NetherlandsOur guide for the day was Teun. He picked us up at the hotel in the morning and returned us to the hotel in the afternoon. This made for a very relaxing experience. Teun was very knowledgeable about the area we traveled to and was able to answer all of our questions. He was very flexible with the day's plans and extremely accommodating. The windmill that operated as a saw mill was interesting and well worth the time visiting. We greatly enjoyed seeing the countryside and the surrounding communities. This was one of the best tours we had while in Amsterdam.Written 30 October 2024

- Venture331724442060 contributionsUnforgettable trip to Hollands countryside!Phillip took us to the most beautiful little towns as we traveled the countryside for the day with him! Our time in each place was special. The towns people love him and treated us so well to help personalize our tour! We have so many memories from our last day in Holland. Windmills, canals, farms, architecture, cheese, clogs, animals, churches, waterside lunch, cocoa, cemetery’s, and so much more! Phillip was a true historian and we walked away with a wealth of info from each place we visited. This was a treat and we are so glad we splurged on this!Written 13 September 2024

- M1180NPjm0 contributionsREAL LIFE IN THE NETHERLAND'S COUNTRYSIDEPhilip "shined" during our tour of Holland's windmills, many of the small towns in the countryside outside of Amsterdam, and the cheese factory. We were in a very comfortable vehicle. We went to so many out of the way places in Holland. We learned so much about the farming experience "the real Netherlands". We loved it. Philip has vast knowledge and can communicate on every subject that you ask him about. Book with Holland Windmills. You will not regret anything. You will be taken care of. Philip is a gentleman who cares about people.Written 20 August 2024
- Zotmama0 contributionsPersonalized to my requests1st off top notch communication from the moment I booked. I have mobility issues but was still looking for adventures Let me start by saying that I LOVE Amsterdam. I have been here multiple times as it is the starting and/or ending place for many land and sea adventures. I've also explored Rotterdam, Edam and Gouda and so I asked my guide today, Philip, for something different. I told him I was very interested in their land reclamation and their pumping stations as well as local markets. We started in Philip's home town of Naarden, a fortified city much like York in England, complete with mote. It was a Saturday, so the farmer's market was in full swing there. We then went to Lelystad, a city built on reclaimed land, then on to Monnikendam where we ate lunch before heading back to Amsterdam and my ship.Written 30 July 2024
- gingerlee130 contributionsGreat day trip outside AmsterdamTeun was a wonderful guide and driver on our day tour of the windmills and the beautiful countryside. We first went to see a collection of windmills at Zaans Schans where Teun gave a very complete description of the design and workings of the windmills. We followed that with a trip to a cheese factory and saw a demonstration of the manufacture of wooden shoes. We had a lovely lunch in a small town and continued our tour of the rural area. I would highly recommend this tour.Written 18 September 2023
- John_Baw0 contributionsAn extraordinary tourThis summer I had the pleasure of taking the Private countryside tour with the fantastic local guide, Teun de Weijer. Teun exceeded all expectations. Teun's knowledge of Holland's countryside is unparalleled, and his passion for the region truly shines through. He took us to some of the best spots, sharing historical insights and local stories along the way. What sets Teun's tour apart is the personalised attention and the convenience of having a private car. His professionalism and warmth made the journey even more enjoyable. I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Amsterdam.Written 17 September 2023

Our trip was easy to book, communication was clear with prompt responses. The tulips were beginning to bloom the 2nd week in April. In another week or two the flowers may peak. Even so we had an amazing day seeing tulips, seedlings nag the countryside, visiting windmills, learning how cheese and wooden
Shoes are made, and tasting cheese! Philip was out tour guide. He was unbelievable. He has so much informative to share, he worked in the mills and shared first hand knowledge of the milling process. We had an option to stop for lunch or grab a bite on the way. We chose to grab a bite and had the delicious Belgium Fries! The tour flowed like a conversation It felt like a dear friend was taking us on a tour. I’m so glad to have booked this tour as a big bus tour would never be able to navigate the places we were able to visit. One thing to point out. The trip doesn’t include entrance tickets to Kuekenhof so buy in advance to avoid the lines. I realized this the night before our trip and Philip sent me the link with helpful information. This saved a lot of time.
