The flower bulb grower will be waiting for you on arrival and the tour will start. You go out on land and hear the story of the process from bulb to flower. You are allowed to take photos during the tour. Inside the greenhouse, you will see a short film about how we plant and harvest. You can also use the simple catering industry in our flower greenhouse and order flower bulbs. Tulips, daffodils and hyacinths.

Too rainy to have brilliant pictures
It was raining dogs and cats! So we could not sit outside and walk around to take great pictures. But indoors you have good shopping and coffee options. You can watch them preparing Stroopwafels - fresh from the iron.

Nice place to visit on a sunny day
This place is free unless you want to pay for a tour. My wife wanted to visit a tulip farm and this place was ideal. A little bit off the beaten track which ment it wasn't too busy unlike the nearby Keukenhof. We visited on a nice sunny day, late afternoon in the week so there was plenty of parking although I expect the weekend would be a different story. It had a nice cafe and a shop. A tulip farm is not my cup of tea but my wife loved it so, happy wife, happy life!!!

      The best Tulip Experience
We decided to visit de Tulperij before our scheduled tour at another garden - this was by far a better experience. It was less busy, and I got the beautiful views of the Tulip fields that I desired.- even without booking an excursion (which I would 100% book if I go again). de Tulperij had a viewing garden, where you could see many varieties of Tulips, as well as a picking garden, where we could pick and take home a bouquet of Tulips.

Poor. Not value for money to go all The way there
Poor. Not worth it .. too much talking and too little to see. Some withered daffodils and withering orange tulips. The owner business like and doing more for money sake

A Texan’s Online Visit To Voorhout
“I can’t take being cooped-up in the house anymore!” When your wife yells this, you react. I reacted by looking for somewhere – anywhere – to take her. Of course, given the global pandemic, my options were bleak. Complicating matters was her upcoming birthday – the pressure was on! Most online virtual tours were either pre-recorded spiels or well-meaning tour guides video-chatting from their flat. I thought something more live, local and personal was possible, so I persisted. Given my wife’s love of tulips, I eventually found De Tulperij Voorhout. I reached out to Anja and asked if a live, personal, virtual tour would be possible. Amazingly, she agreed! I should not have been surprised though – once our online tour began, Anja and Daan’s warmth, personality and love for their farm shone through, all the way back to our TV screen in Texas. With Anja working the camera, Daan took us from their greenhouse out to several different plots of tulips. The variety of colors and styles of petals was amazing! We learned about the optimal soil and temperature conditions that make their region ideal for growing tulips. Daan described the ‘heading’ process – just as it sounds, the colorful top of the flower is removed – which is crucial for maximum bulb growth the following season. We were lucky with the timing of our tour – most of his tulip rows were set to be headed the following day! After a walk along their ‘show garden’, where they have scores of unique tulip varieties, our tour ended back in the greenhouse where we enjoyed seeing Anja’s creative displays and some of their family photos on the wall. The thousands of miles and seven time zones melted away and for an hour, we were transported to their tulip farm – a welcome escape indeed. My wife was almost in tears (of joy) as she got her dream of visiting a tulip farm. As we say in Texas, Anja and Daan are the real deal – we could not have imagined nicer hosts. If you get the chance to visit them, my advice is to go. We know we will (in person someday)!

If you dislike the crowd and show on Keukenhof, you are here at the right place
You are sleeping in a field of tulips! The right place to do so since they placed a bed in front of their fields. It is a color and aromatherapy for free since they do not charge you. You can see outside all the samples of tulips, and inside they sell you the tulip bulbs. Inside you can buy everything around tulips. Just a perfect place to get all the prejudices you had on Holland on one spot but no haring, no cheese and no windmill. Caramel Syrup Waffles (Stroopwafel) are freshly made in front of you. And a Dutch apple pie which was most prepared. You have indoor and outdoor options to sit and enjoy.

Beautiful, educational, friendly, family-run tulip farm
I wouldn't have known about this except that it was included in our group tour to Keukenhoff Gardens. We stopped first at De Tulperij. Beautiful spot. Acres of color, since the tulips were blooming. The owner, Dean, took our group out into the fields, taught us a lot about their bulb cultivation, about the special qualities of the land, and about bulb growing at home. Inside there was a short and informative film about the bulb industry. And De Tulperij had a beautiful shop area with blooming bulbs for sale, pretty decorative items, warm drinks and goodies for purchase. All carefully presented. A warm and friendly place.

Very nice family run Tulip Farm to visit
Daan & Anja Janze run a great flower bulb growing operation and Anja is the hosted of the tours. You can go with small and larger groups in the season, choose a package with lunch and learn the basics of what you need to know about the flower bulb growing process. Anja goes out of her way to make sure you visit is great and they have become industry friends because I have taken various groups of friends and customers for visits, during March and mid May when the bulb fields are in bloom.

Amazing owners and excellent place to visit for flowers and bulbs
We had an experience, which will stay in our memories forever. The colour of the flowers and the warmth of Daan (the owner) have stolen our hearts forever. He went an extra mile to make our trip a memorable one. A must visit when you go to see Tulips, the most colourful experience.

Fabulous introduction to flower farming, by Daan, the third generation farmer himself. Even after being in the area for two weeks, we still learned more about tulips, daffodils, and hyacinth. Daan was an engaging guide, easily teasing and joking with the group. We were able to go into his fields and he allowed plenty of time for photos. Even on a gray, rainy day, this was still a most enjoyable experience. Well worth the admission cost.

Thank you kindly for the nice review. Glad to hear that you learned more about bulb cultivation. And that you enjoyed the excursion and the flower fields. Who knows until next time in the dahlia season. Kind regards Daan and Anja

Experiences are always more interesting and enjoyable when we learn more about what goes on "behind the scenes." This tour is win on so many levels. 1. The place is beautiful. 2. The person showing you around and explaining the way the business works is the owner of the farm, not a tourist guide, and he's as talented at sharing his passion for the business as he is at growing tulip bulbs. 3. There is a lovely gift shop, but no pressure or even suggestion that you buy anything. 4. You can rest and enjoy a beverage and homemade baked goods before or after your tour. 5. If you're traveling with a car, t's possible to get there using public transportation, although you'll need to make two transfers and walk the last 15 minutes. But, we did it without problems, and the tour was definitely worth the effort of getting there.

We have come to the area for the tulip festival and done various activities. This one was the highlight of our Dutch adventure! The tour was so informative, funny, beautiful and absolutely brilliant! We are thinking about returning for the dahlia tour later in the year! If you only do one tulip visit, make it this one!

What a great spot and so much interesting information. We rented bikes and biked from Keukenhof. We arrived early and were able to browse the shop and grab a snack at the cafe. The tour taught us so much about tulip bulb production. What a value! And we got the chance to walk through and photograph the tulip fields along with exploring the display gardens. Highly recommend!

It was the end of the tulip season, but we were lucky to catch this farm that still had 2 fields with tulips in them. The nice owner gave the group tour that was very interesting and informative. Their garden, gift shop and cafe were great too.
