A look behind the doors of Ghent…
Christophe was a great guide as he showed us some sides of Ghent that as tourists, we would not see. Ver interesting, informative, and off the beaten tract. Glad we did the tour, which was to be a small group but as it was raining no one else showed up except us. By I les were of top quality, routes travelled were flat and easy, with several stops so that Christophe could provide explanations and answer questions.

      Cheat Code #1 for Ghent
It would be crazy to come to Ghent and not to take this tour. Starting off your visit to Ghent with Chris is like finding an incredible cheat code -- like a level 1 to level 10 warp pipe -- for getting to know this amazing city. In 2.5 hours you will discover dozens of beautiful spots that would probably take years to find on your own. The tour -- riding through the city on nimble Cube mountain bikes -- features stops at many amazing street murals and historic sites outside of the crowded and more touristy city center Cathedral district. Eat like a local -- by the end of the tour Chris can point you to the best of the city's food and cultural scene based on your interests. . And the bikes too won't disappoint with great handling and hair-trigger breaking, perfect for riding through the cobbled streets -- you will think you are in video game.

Come Visit the True Gent with Christophe!
This was easily the best part of Gent for my wife and I! Do you want to see what the city is truly known for, and appreciate its rich history like the locals do? Then you have come to the right place! On top of that, Christophe was absolutely hilarious and incredibly friendly. It felt like going on a bike ride with your cousin and visiting his town. The art, the history, the sites, and the laughs. Plus you always know it’s a great sign when random locals talk to your guide as you’re biking by (because they are friends) and recommending their restaurants to you. That’s how you know you are with a true local, and in good hands. He knows all of the the things, traditional & recent. 10/10 can’t recommend this experience enough. When we come back to gent we will book this tour again just to hang out with Christophe for a few hours and bike around town. *bonus* if you appreciate street art, Christophe is an expert of the field and can answer any questions you have about the beautiful art you WILL see in Gent ^_^

Bike your way around a city where people enjoy life!
Bike Ghent city tour with Chris aka "Jason" was great! He paid exquisite attention to detail, the bike route was well planned and very organized. The city is very bike-friendly so there was no anxiety on the road. The bike routes were carefully selected to highlight the best places and street arts to see inside the city of Ghent. There was a perfect mix of beautiful old and new buildings. A visit to a local place with great food was a perfect way to end our adventure! We'll definitely be back for more adventures with Chris! #bikeghent #jasonstathamlookalike

Book this tour you wont be disappointed.
Book this tour you wont be disappointed. We had a great afternoon with Christophe, bike were top notch, tour was interesting, things you wouldn't see walking around Ghent. The beer stop and the Brewery was a high light for us, and the school we saw from across the water. Would not hesitate to book again.

Great tour showing hidden gems of Ghent away from the beaten tracks.
We had a great guided tour with Christophe. With a lot of enthusiasm and energy he showed us the hidden gems away from the beaten tracks in Ghent. He made sure he knew our interests and addressed them during our tour with humour and some serious twists. We were bicycling on good bikes and Christophe guided us quick and safe through the traffic. During the tour he made nice pictures which he shared afterwards. The bidons were also nice gifts :-)

Extreme Petanque at the top in Ghent
We did the Extreme Petanque with Christophe: it was great! It's a mix between cycling, pétanque, discovering cultural and historical places, off the beaten track, to discover Ghent in a different way! I really recommend Bike Ghent, and Christophe's good humour is a real plus for this ride! Bravo and thanks again.

      Tailor made tour
Booked a tour at Bike Ghent tours on Sunday 30 January 2022. I was the only one who signed up that day, but the tour went ahead and so I got a private tour. The nice thing about this tour is: it is tailor-made. The guide asks you where the emphasis should be: buildings/architecture, street art or exploring the city in a more sporty way and adjusts the program accordingly. Enjoyed the beautiful weather and the most beautiful city in Belgium. ;) In addition: the tour goes on very comfortable mountain bikes, so that you can easily tackle the boulders and hills and you do not get stuck in the tram rails. In summary: highly recommended.

      Great experience!
Solid bikes, tour shows what the city of Ghent has to offer just outside the historic centre. Christophe brought us to parcs, museums, churches, streetart, amazing architecture in the port area. The trail was also varied with small passages, offroad parts. We have acquired a lot of new ideas for our next visit to Ghent. Thanks Christophe, we will be back for a new tour by then.

Such as visiting Ghent with an Erasmus student friend
The tour is an amazing experience. Levi the guide leads us in many places, very different from the traditonnal spots. He was born in the city and has so many nice stories to tell. He knows the actual state and all the improvements made. He shows us many street arts master pieces, with details about the artists. The bikes, are nice to ride. This is a fun moment, you can fast or drive slowly. As when I visit a nice museum, I would say "I will come back to this tour". Indeed, after 4 hours, in spite of all the scenes we saw, I want to see more of Ghent. Finally, it was such as visiting a city with a former friend met in Erasmus 20 years ago. PS: during the tour, the guide takes lot of pics, this is great to get some nice memories

I was born here, but it felt like seeing the city for the first time.
Even tho I was born and raised in Ghent, it still felt like this was the first time I really "saw" the city. Christophe his friendly and insightful tour, made the city come to life in a whole new way. Art I would usually just pass by, now has it's own story. Two locations, were so fresh to mez that I still hardly believe they were in Ghent. I would recommend anyone who wants to "get" the city to go on this tour. Excellent birthday gift or teambuilding activity.

      Amazing tour, brought with passion
We were visiting Gent with 4 other couples and wanted to see the 'BIG picture', so we booked a tour with Christophe. Unbelievable were this guy keeps on digging up his energy and passion. Not a single tour is the same, fully adjusted to your wishes. We've passed history, art (old & new), the different quarters, breweries, While riding the bikes, Christophe takes pictures with his 'Go-Pro', which you'll get shared at the end of the trip, nice memory! We rode on Cube MTB's - which was a good idea looking at the streets in Gent (cobbles). They were comfortable and each bike has a drink bottle which you can keep. Recommend a tour with Bike Ghent for 1000%

Ghent is a beautiful historical city with lots of tours to choose from. If you like to see and learn about the ‘real’ city and present life, as well as historical facts, then you must take this tour with a local tour guide. We were able to travel further on the good quality bikes, and saw sights that we would otherwise have missed.

You don’t need to be a fit or experienced cyclist to take this tour. One of the best things about Ghent is that it has just become car-free in the city centre, so for much of the tour there are no cars sharing the road. Luckily other cyclists are not speeding around or aggressive, and its a pretty flat city, so it’s an enjoyable cycle ride.

Our guide was knowledgeable, friendly and interesting and we really enjoyed his company and local stories. There is a strong focus on Ghent’s street art scene, which is high quality and an important part of its artistic culture. He also took lots of photos of my husband and I during the tour, which they are sending to us. We have so few photos of both of us these days (because we have you g children) I’m looking forward to receiving these and treasuring the memories.

So, if you want to get away from the tourist trap and find out more about local life, as well as support a local business book this tour now. You’ll love it. 🚲

What could have been a bit of a downer turned out to be far better than I had hoped for!
We arrived at 1000 outside Christophe’s garage entrance to find him expecting one American and not us. The American, Tom turned up a few moments later and we sorted out bikes to fit. After we were going, I checked and found that my fat finger had booked for four weeks later, Tom had arrived a day early with jet lag the previous day, so we were a right bunch.
The bikes are fat wheel mountain bikes with Shimano derailleurs so if it isn’t shorts weather bring a clip for your flappy right trouser leg. Comfortable seats and really low gears so easy on the small hills in Ghent.
The tour headed out to the quiet parts of the city south and east of the fleshpots, taking in history ancient and fairly modern, places you just will not find are opened up, the reasons why places are as they are are explained. You cycle through old lanes down the canal paths over bridges on park paths grottos and slowly get the idea as to how much cyclists have the road. Christophe is a great bike handler and when necessary just stopped the traffic to get us over to the next small turn, the trams, trucks and cars stopping without protest! How I long for that in London!
We finished up back at Christophe’s place 2 1/2 to 3 hours later having seen a side of the city hidden away and had plenty of laughs along the way.
There were three in our group which was great, more would be just as good. We had not met Tom before the start but enjoyed a hot choccy with home at the end. Christophe was prepared to have only had Tom on this trip, and hadn’t tried to put him off as a solo client. Impressive.
We loved the ride, Christophe, if you are coming to Ghent do this early in your trip, and you’l spread your wings round the city far better than just going round the big tourist sights and shopping for more stuff you don’t need.
You don’t have to be young to do this, just reasonably competent on a bike!
I don’t know if there are other bike tours, if there are, don’t bother with them, go on this one!

Had a great time with Chris leading this bike tour! It felt really authentic compared to other tours we’ve done which have really been “run of the mill”. You cover a lot of ground and see so much of this beautiful city; lots of street art, graffiti and interactive art installations as well as local parks and back streets filled with charm. Good varieties of architecture and history of the city. It started to rain a little but it didn’t affect our experience. Chris really commands the road and directs traffic when needed, so you’re not left to make decisions within the city perimeters if you’re worried about biking with cars and other cyclists on the road. He really makes things easy for you if you’re an inexperienced rider. Your didn’t feel rushed at all and there was time for a beer with the group at a local beer house. I’d highly recommend this tour for anyone who’d like to try their hand at riding in a European city and see what it’s like by bike. Thank you!

First of all: the traffic in the centre of Ghent is designed to prevent bike riders to be bothered! Bike Ghent knows the best places around the centre of Ghent to introduce you to the city that is more difficult to explore as a tourist. Super friendly, lively and fun guide who knows how to make you enthusiastic about the place. Moreover, he used his experience abroad to create what could be one of the best bike citytours there are ;)

If you want to see more than the usual touristic places of Ghent, you should definitely take a ride with Chris! We had a fantastic 2,5 hours tour through the city and saw places we would not have explored without the tour - topped with amazing art around each little corner. Chris loves his city and is very passionate to share it - he is positively contagious and just fun! Don't hesitate - book your ticket to enjoy a fantastic ride! Thank you, Chris!

We had a wonderful tour with Bike Ghent. Chris is very knowledgeable, thoughtful, and entertaining. He took the time to get to know me and my partner along the ride and added details along the tour that would interest us specifically. We learned about the arts scene, environmental action, city planning, reclamation of spaces, and more.

I always recommend a bicycle tour when one visits a new city. Seeing it from the ground level lets you see things you wouldn’t have otherwise. This tour did that and a whole lot more. If you’d like to get to know Ghent from a local who really cares Bike Ghent is a cut above.

I really fell for Ghent and Chris was a big part of that. The only problem now is that I can’t wait to visit again.

What a fabulous experience! Christophe took us through parts of Ghent we never would have found on our own. Beautiful urban parks, unique street art, the oldest part of the city—we saw a lot in a relatively short amount of time. Best yet, Christophe was quite personable. His humor and friendliness made our group feel right at home!

Let's get the basics out of the way first. The meeting location was easy to find and close to the city center. The bikes were in good shape, with helmets that fit, and they even gave us each a souvenir water bottle (filled!). We felt safe the entire time, Ghent is a VERY bike friendly city.

Now, what made this tour special was Christophe our guide. He is informative, fun, patient, and took us to cool spots that featured everything from spectacular street art to classic historical and modern architecture. This is a great tour to really feel like you see the city from the perspective of a local who is passionate about his home and wants you to understand it beyond just the tourist spots.
    Highly recommended!

Outstanding activity and a great way to discover Ghent beyond the more obvious attractions of the centre. Our guide was mega-friendly, informative and entertaining throughout, pro-active with information and also happy to respond to questions. A real focus on art, history and the evolution of the city. This is the first time we have done a cycle tour and it was a brilliant way to learn about a new place and we will seek out others in the future on the basis of this experience and would definitely recommend it to anyone else visiting Ghent. Thanks Christophe!

A wonderful way to get to see and learn about off the beaten tourist track parts of the city. The guide is brilliant, very amusing, delivers a personalised trip based on your interests. Tour combines public art, city development and culture, and cycling of course. Bikes are great and make the physical aspect v easy. One of us had a very sore leg following a fall but they managed fine. Highly recommended.
