We felt quite unsatistied and hungry afterwards. You get a few small snacks, for a total of max 23,- euro. We paid 77,50 p.p. for this tour, so the guided tour itself costs 54,50 euro, each, per person! This is much to expensive! If you want an "Introduction to Ghent through food" you'd best do a free tour with (or without) a guide (they all take you to the same standard sights and give the same standard tourist info), or simply follow your Lonely Planet guidebook. And as for the snacks? Well, you can easily taste them by yourself, the special Ghent foods can easily be obtained everywhere! (french fries, beer, chocolate, stew, soup, etc). There is nothing unique about this tour, you'd better spend money on other fun stuff.

Thank you very much for your review. We are sorry that you feel this tour was not the right one for you and that you only got a 'few' snacks (7) and found that you paid too much money. This does not correspond with what you told your tour guide "This was great, thank you so much. We really enjoyed this." In an email that you sent after the tour, you threatened with writing a bad review if you were not getting a refund. We have taken your email feedback into account and have since then made a few changes as we find it important to improve our tours and create better experiences. This is a sightseeing tour that combines traditional sightseeing with food (which can vary). Joining a food tour in the afternoon with only a coffee in the morning (as stated in your email feedback) will leave most people hungry if you expect restaurant visits. This is a 'taster' tour. We believe that you received value for money: you got a private guide in your own language (most tours require a min. of 10 people and language options are not always possible), got to see the traditional landmarks of Ghent and some hidden gems and also received 7 tasters and an extra 40 minutes of guiding. Our tours are about quality, not quantity, where visitors are rushed from one place to another and might not be right for everyone. Thanks again for your feedback and review and we wish you all the best with your future travels.

Sophie was a wonderful guide. Very friendly and knowledgeable. I came away from the tour with a much better understanding of the city, the culture and, of course, the food.
It really set the tone for the rest of my stay in Ghent. Thank you!

Sophie was an outstanding guide and clearly loves what she does. The city info, food stops and fun times were great.
There were 3 of us on the tour. Nick from Baltimore and myself and my wife. Couldn't have had a better tour mate.
Sophie spent almost 3 hours with us and said she even had fun on the tour.
If we were in Ghent longer we would have done the chocolate tour with her.

This was an excellent tour and a very good introduction to Ghent.
We had 5 tastings all of which were delicious. The tastings included both sweet and savory food and we liked the fact that everything offered was both authentic and local.

While waiting to meet up with my relatives for dinner, I decided to visit Ghent early and participate in this "Ghent Foodie Experience" to learn more about the city. Sophie was a knowledgeable and sweet tour guide and this experience ended up being such a great food experience that I couldn't eat any dinner when I met up with my relatives after. I shared some of the things that I learned on the tour that my relatives who live in the city didn't know and sparked an interest in them to participate some time. If you love food and want to learn about the history of the city, this tour is for you!

Sophie is very knowledgeable about the place, history and local delicacies. You’ll have a blast, specially if you like chocolate and candies.

This was definitely a very good food tour!! The guide, Sophie, told a lot of interesting stories about Ghent and she knew everything about the places where we had our tasters. She also took every particpant into account. I recommend Tours Of Ghent!

Sophie was our guide and she was the best! She is actually from Ghent and was very informative. Not only we’re all her food/drink selections perfect, the history of the city and buildings were also top notch. Definitely would book again!

It was a nice tour but I think the guide was distracted by the size of the group. I believe there was more to tell and to try. Expected more considering the price but overall positive.

Dear Catrine,
Thank you very much for your review. In order to give a proper answer and discuss your review with the guide, we would like to find out what you mean with the guide 'being distracted' and also what you would have expected more in terms of food? We make 5 stops and 99% of people find it more then enough. We cater for people with an average appetite.
Prices depend on the number of people in the booking. We are very flexible and accept 1 or 2 people as well, but even on these occasions, a guide needs to be arranged and commission and vendors paid.
You are welcome to email us with more details or send a public response.
