Best things to do in Alberferia!!
I have to tell you this place is one of the best ticket shops in the Algarves to book day trips and excursions. Cody and his team are so engaging and fun. They made our experience to the West so fun that we booked another tour with him for two days later. He is funny fun and very informative. I would definitely recommend him if you are looking for things to do in Alberferia!! We love you Cody and will definitely book with you next year…. Thanks love the gang from Canada 🇨🇦

      Incredible experience in the Algarve!
The jeep tour took us through stunning landscapes, and the kayaking adventure allowed us to explore caves and crystal-clear waters in a unique way. The team was super attentive and made the day even more special. I highly recommend it for anyone looking for adventure and nature in one amazing tour!

      Kayak and jeep
This tour was definitely the highlight of our trip, we got to see the most beautiful beaches outside of Albufeira in a convertible jeep on the way to the beach where we started the kayak activity.. we entered several small caves and enjoyed the experience. Good exercise and great adventure in the sun

Janie was a fantastic and knowledgeable tour guide! We had so much fun, not only eating the delicious chicken and visiting the winery, but with all the information about the local culture that he shared with us. We would highly recommend this tour and can’t wait to go back again to book with such a fantastic team of people! Obrigada!!

      Amazing tour around Albufeira !
It's a MUST if you're planning to go to Albufeira. A tour in which you will learn about the history of the city, at the same time that you will discover hidden and beautiful places in the city. It ends in a very nice restaurant, with wine and tapas. Thank you so much, I enjoyed it a lot!!

I highly recommend the "Albufeira Tour: Winery Wine and Tapas Boards" tour facilitated by Algarve Flashback Holidays.

We were looking for a relaxing holiday but figured that we would slot a tour in to break the week of not doing anything up!

Jaimie transferred us to and from the experience and was a wealth of knowledge. We had a mini-tour of Albufeira before heading to the vineyard. We learnt why the city is called what its called, and Jaimie also had a lot of insight into how the city has changed over the years.

The tour itself was fantastic - really informative. The first hour is spent touring the vineyard - learning about the different grapes, soil and the production process. The next hour is putting your newly found knowledge to the test - the tasting! You have 4 generous glasses of wine, with an intro to each - a sparkling, white, rose and red. All delicious! Such a same they dont export internationally!

We were sat with our group, which was really nice. We were on the 10:30am tour, which is quieter I think. The transfer to and from the vineyard is about 30 mins so you dont start drinking wine too early!

Afterwards its back to the Algarve Flashback Holidays office for Firewater and a Pastel de Nata. This is nice but not super necessary after the wine tour.

Overall, a great experience and I canrt recommend Jaimie enough! I have forgotten the name of the lady who conducts the tour at the vineyard but she is awesome too!

Thanks a lot for leaving a review. Glad you enjoyed the tour and guides. I believe the winery does export internationally, maybe not to every country... If you want, feel free to PM us and we can give you more info. The pastry is a small gift as its Portugals most famous pastry :) See you next time Cody AlgarveFlashbackHolidays

This was such an informative and interesting tour. Jamie was our driver and despite roadworks causing a bit of a delay in our pickup and arriving at the winery the tour guide there was really knowledgeable and gave a great insight into the processes used and the different grape varieties.
A very modern and eco friendly building.
The wine tasting and tapas was also very informative and tasty (there wasn't one wine I didn't like!)
The journey back with a stop for local 'firewater' and pastry also a lovely touch. Jamie then took us around the old part of Albufeira on the bus and shared his extensive knowledge of the local history. All in all a brilliant experience.

My daughter and I decided to take a tour of the winery and vineyard today. Really enjoyed our time both on the journey and the vineyard tour itself. Picked up from hotel bang on time with our friendly driver and given some history of the local area on the way to pick up the other guests.

The vineyard itself is home to not only vines over 100 years old but a 500 year old carob tree, olive trees and fig trees. Having been on vineyard tours in England I wasn’t sure what more I would learn but my goodness do we get a lot of info. This innovative sustainable vineyard was fascinating from the way they need to plant their new vines, the innovative irrigation systems they are trialling to the way they monitor and control their crops to ensure their wine is as best as it can be. I learnt a lot more than I thought I would. The wine tasting was great - small glasses enough to know you’ve had a drink but not feel drunk before heading back to town for a quick shot of fire water, local almond liquor and a pastel de nata.

I found the whole booking process easy, my pick up queries prior to arriving in the Algarve were sorted quickly and the trip was fab. If you want a quick run out for a few hours local to albufeira with the chance to try some delicious wines this is a great way to do it.

We went on holiday as two couples but the other couple on our trip fell ill and couldn't attend the wine tasting. Nevertheless, my partner and I still attended and were told we would be picked up at 3.30pm outside of our hotel. At 4pm we're still waiting, so I rang the company and was told we would be picked up shortly.

Around 4.10pm we were finally picked up by a lady in a transit van. There were 4 other girls in the van that had come as a group.

The tour of the vineyard was great, Edgar's niece Joanna was very informative and it was interesting to learn about the wine making process.

We were then sat down for the wine tasting. Considering this is advertised as a wine and tapas tour, I do think it's slightly cheeky to then charge additionally on top of the £43 already paid for the tour.

The "tapas" given at the table was nice, but sparse and not filling in the slightest. Other groups around us were provided with second portions, but we were not.

The wait in between each wine was disappointing and probably let the trip down in our opinion. The setting is lovely, but there isn't much atmosphere during this part.

We did, however, end up buying three bottles of wine as we liked them so much.

We were then informed by Cody that due to the weather (it had gotten cold by this time), he had to take a family with a baby back first and there wouldn't be enough room in the van for us. The family with the baby had arrived in the open top jeep and it was too cold for them to travel back in this. He did ask if we were okay with waiting, but as we were going to meet friends we said we'd get a taxi.

In fairness, Cody did book and pay for an Uber for us but I do think this was slightly mismanaged as essentially it seemed like there were too many people and not enough transportation for us all. The 4 young girls we had arrived with also had to get a taxi back to their hotel.

Overall we enjoyed the wine tour but I'd say it's overpriced for what it is!

Hi Rachel Thank you for leaving your review, its always good to have your feedback. I am glad that you enjoyed the wines very much that you even took bottles home. Also im happy you that you enjoyed the tapas. You could have asked for some more like other families did. Edgar is very passionate about his wines and takes his time to explain with better detail and also as you said there was a lot of people to serve, thats why maybe you found the wait a bit boring.... for this I appologize. Regarding the 10€ extra fee being slightly cheeky I cant really agree as its mentioned in CAPS LOCK on the tour discription and also on the "whats included/whats not included part on this website when you book. In our job sometimes we need make decisions and be able to improvise as not always things go according to plan and I had planned to take you and the other 4 girls before, and then return to pick up the family with the baby (as they agreed to wait because they had ordered extra tapas) but suddenly things changed and they insisted that they hd priority because of their baby, too which I agree. I tried to find the best option for everyones sake. So I sorted it out by calling a private car for you and for the other party of 4, and I drove back the family with the baby. I think this was the wise thing to do in this unexpected situation. I am sorry for any inconvenience or for the tour not meeting your standards... Thanks a lot Cody Algarveflashbackholidays

What a great trip! We were picked up directly from our hotel alongside 2 other couples and taken out to the vineyard. Once the whole group had assembled we had around 14. Edgar took us out into the vineyard and explained all about the growing and vines and the care they need which was really interesting. We then were taken inside to see where the magic happens and then tasted 4 different wines (white, red, rose and sparkling) accompanied by some crackers, chorizo, grapes and cheeses. Afterwards there was the chance to buy some wine, which can also be ordered for delivery all over the world! When the tour finished we were taken back to the tour office in town for a warm Pasteis de Nata, a shot of firewater (Aquardente de Medronho) and a sweet almond liquor (Amarguinha). All in all a really great experience which we would definitely recommend.

Fantastic morning at this beautiful vineyard and the host Edgar was so knowledgeable and passionate about wine making. Beautiful location and the wine tasting and tapas at the end of the tour really made the experience. Our driver Youness was excellent and so friendly and he gave us some great history and information about the region to and from the tour. He finished the tour with some very nice treats at the end ;-) Would highly recommend this tour and great value for money.

What amazing service, we had accommodation collection and Youness was there early to energetically meet us. Such a lovely and knowledgeable guide when driving us to and from the winery. Even making sure we had photos to remember the occasion upon arrival. The small touches go a long way.
The wine tour was fabulous too, Bruno told us the history and lots of wine making facts. It was really engaging and the tapas boards were lovely too.
The extra touch on collection of stopping to try the local pastry on route to town was just fabulous.
Would absolutely recommend. All round fantastic experience with friends. Would absolutely go back next time we're there. May have purchased a few bottles before heading home too.

We did a wine and tapas tour recently, and although we did enjoy it we didn’t think it was as worth the price for what you get. We got picked up 20 mins late so we missed the start of the tour.
The tour itself was interesting but short, and the advertising is very misleading as you do not get four generous glasses of wine they are very small taster servings. We were sat at the end of the table so we felt we got less servings than the people at the start as they are not measured.
The tapas was very limited as well which was 2 small boards for 10 people. The wine itself was really nice, but overall the experience was not as we were expecting

Which we throughly enjoyed, the wine tour was very informative and enjoyable.
The selection of wines was great and we particularly enjoyed the rosé.
And our tour guide, youness, picked us up from our hotel with ease and took us on a trip around albufeira giving us great places to eat, history about the city and Portugal.

We booked a tappas and winery tour for Friday evening and received the following notification on the day itself at 00:46 hours. " Is it possible to do the tour on the following day, saturday? The winery is closed unfortunatelly. I think you would enjoy if we did it Saturday 7pm..."
Aside from the late notification, reading the above we understood the winery tour was rescheduled for Saturday. Instead we received a tour of Albufeira (nothing to do with wine) in a very unsafe tuk tuk, which was in dire need of maintenance. It stalled several times in the middle of an intersection.
Maggie, our guide, saved the evening by being very personable and knowledgeable. We highly recommend her.

Dear Mr Rick, First of all, seing that you want to make this public, trying to cause prejudice to us here at Algarve Flashback Holidays, who work hard everyday to please our clients, you should at least be more real and copy paste our message until the end and not just cut the message with your " " when and where it suits you... You booked a trip for the day after, Friday, and we tried our best to honour the booking, by contacting the winery that hosts the tour. However, the winery was closed and couldnt receive you. Unfortunatelly, we are just a small tour company and we are not the owners of a winery. I wish... I then contacted you, aprox 7h after you booked the trip, and sent you the following message that you decided to cut... "Hello Rick, is it possible to do the tour on the following day, saturday? The winery is closed unfortunatelly. I think you would enjoy if we did it Saturday 7pm... we have some champagne on the beach for the sunset then we have some tapas for dinner... I think you will enjoy this Thanks Cody" On this message, I believe I was clear when I said that the winery was closed but that I had a plan to provide you with a nice improvised trip, (that didnt require the winery). I told you we would take you on a tour, see the sunset while you drink some champagne. (This part you cut for your convenience, therefore, I dont understand the title to your review (no wine in sight)). After the sunset, Magie the guide, who yes tried her best to make your day pleasent, drove you to one of the best traditional restaurants in town, where all the locals go, and many clients have been before and always loved the food... You then were served the TAPAS. (Not only did you get the usual tapas that the winery offers, but I made sure you also tried their cuttlefish tapas and the traditional "carapaus alimados" (fish tapas). You for sure had bread butter pates (as its the standard at the restaurant). You were served wine and waters/sparkling waters that you requested. (So I again repeat that I dont understand your title claiming no wine at sight). You had traditional firewater after. You got picked and dropped off at your house in Olhos de Agua. Magie, the tour guide was with you for over 4hours!! The wine and tapas is usually 2h30. As for the tuktuk needing maintenance, yes you right. All vehicles do. And all vehicles can stall. (We do maitenance almost everyday as clutch cables always require attention)... So after all this I really think you are being totally unfair with our effort to provide a nice experience as we tried our best to make your evening special and we are sure you you got looked after. But what I REALLY dont understand is your 2 star ratings because you yourself admited that the tour guide looked after you. Another thing that you could have shared was your attempt of getting a partial refund that I refused as the tour you got is more expensive than the tour you booked. THe restaurant needs payment, the ice cold champagne on the beach costs money, petrol driving around for 4h costs money and so does your guide needs to get paid for the 4.5hours she spent with you SO a refund is not possible. I tried to explain this to you but sometimes there are people that are hard to please. Even though we tried so hard to improvise without a winery (that we told you was closed), and offered you a discount in any further attraction... You stated: "We think that the tour that we received was overpriced. We feel that a partial refund is appropriate." So because I denied a partial refund you give us a 2 star rating that is clearly innapropriate. I truly regret having tried to improvise and make your day special, If I knew yesterday what I know now I would have just cancelled your trip. Cody
