        Amazing food and culture experience
Hands down the best experience in the Algarve. We did the market tour and cooking in her home and we had the best day. We were a group of 6 from 8 years old to 75 years old. Paula is a lovely woman with such a kind, inviting and approachable demeanor. And the food!!!!! She guides you through selections at the market then takes them to her traditional and beautiful home to prepare multiple courses that she encourages you to make at home by involving you in the process as much or as little as you like. She offers wine aplenty and spends so much time with you. A truly delightful woman who loves sharing her culture!

        Authentic Algarve
This was the perfect start to our Algarve holiday. A truly unique and authentic experience with unique and authentic local people. The guide was friendly and knowledgeable and we felt at home from beginning to end. We and the kids all enjoyed the orange picking and jam making and the lunch was wholesome and delicious. Highly recommend for those looking for an alternative to the usual tourist rush and gloss.

A day funding out about Algarve traditions... And delicious oranges!
A fascinating day out, picking oranges, finding out about how they are grown, and then learning how to make marmalade with the oranges. And all topped off with a delicious informal lunch with the very friendly farmer! Really well organised, and a lovely day. Highly recommended!

Beauty, great food on an electric bike.
This trip was so well planned, with a great guide and a beautiful path to view as we rode. A stop at the fig grower was a plus!

        Silves Countryside E-bike Experience Paradise
Wow! What an amazing e-bike foodie experience riding through the Silves countryside! Breakfast and lunch were outstanding and we really enjoyed the fig business stop to see individuals in action making fig items. This experience was a 10/10 which I highly recommend. It was the highlight of our entire one-month trip in Portugal.

        Making jam, having a jam
We had a tremendous day, the highlight was meeting João and Maria at their farm and listening to them share their stories and knowledge about the farm. It's an exceptionally beautiful place with beautiful people. Our guide Sofia was super friendly and really knowledgeable about the local area and we felt very welcome. After preparing the oranges for the jam making we shared a fantastic lunch prepared by Maria the same morning, her traditional treats and homegrown/homemade produce were exceptional and we feel lucky to have had the opportunity to try them! All of which were vegan and we appreciate the extra effort and thought that went into preparing this for us. The crown goes to the orange jam, we took a jar back with us but only had one night left in Portugal. We demolished the whole jar between us the following morning at breakfast. Never had anything like it before. Chefs kiss. To top the day off we had an impromptu jam on the banjo with João on guitar, the absolute icing on the cake to a very wholesome day out. Thoroughly recommend.

        Fabulous Experience
Our host and hostess were warm and welcoming. We started out at a local market and then went on to the farm. Even though it rained off and on throughout the day, our experience was not dampened in any way. We were given a great tour of the historic home, including great conversation and fabulous food, and we made marmalade from the oranges we picked. It just could not have been a better experience! Highly recommended!

        Taste of Portugal in Loulé
We spent a lovely half day with Paula. The tour started at the Loulé market then we joined Paula at her home for a leisurely cooking lesson. She prepared a multi-course traditional Portuguese lunch. The food was outstanding, from the appetizers, to the main courses and dessert. Paula is a wonderful guide and chef, I strongly recommend her tour.

        Best experience in the Algarve
Paula was amazing and the food was incredible !! We met her at the market and she took us shopping for the ingredients. She picked out recipes that had ingredients we could get at home. The recipes were easy to do (I’m sure we can replicate it) with simple ingredients. Definitely recommend and would do again.

Had a delightful time cooking up a storm!
We really enjoyed cooking with Paula. She is super knowledgeable about all things Portuguese: the food, the history and culture. She was a delight to spend time with, and is great at offering cooking suggestions and examples for you to try at home. I would highly recommend attending her cooking class. If I could give her 10 stars I would!

        A delightful experience for foodies
What a delightful and pleasant few hours this was! From the shopping, preparations, cooking to the tasting and eating. Typical Portuguese food. Recommended for those wanting to do more than just soaking up the sun, ocean and praias.

The tastiest food you can find!
The market tour and cooking class with Paula was such an incredible experience. The food we cooked was delicious yet so simple that it can be easily replicated at home. I loved the Paula shared with us so many insights into the food culture of Portugal and incorporated ingredients that would be easily sourced anywhere in the world as well. She was so generous with all that she provided for us (Even brought us some tarts and coffee at the market). Her home is absolutely beautiful too, we felt so comfortable! Would highly recommend doing the class if you're in the area!

Don't hesitate to book a unique adventure with Algarve Food Experience! Way beyond our expectations.
The incredible food and caliber of people on Gloria's staff were the highlight for our group of 9. Gloria was an excellent host with an impressive knowledge of the Algarve and many other areas of Portugal and beyond. Our bike tour leader did an great job shepherding our group through the local villages while disseminating keen insight to the local geography, history and culture of the region. The ride was legit but doable for all thanks to eBikes! The AFE team accomodated our large, age diverse (19 to 80) group with ease and gave us an incredible tour of the less-traveled Algarve interior countryside in between truly outstanding meals highlighting locally-sourced cuisine with some interesting local wines and specialty beverages. Highly recommended!

Great way to spend a day.
You will learn all about the famous black pigs from which the famous hams come from. You will meet the family who run the pig farm and get to know them the pigs and the family dogs. You will then hike to the top of the hill upon which there farm is positioned for 360 degree views across to the west and south coasts. You will have a simple picnic up there before trekking back down and driving over for lunch at a local tavern serving food you won't find anywhere on the coast, a true gem. After this over to the village where Medronha, the local spirit it made before finishing up.

The guide Matteo speaks great English and is very knowledgeable.

      A great day!
