About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- OnAir540888414780 contributionsThis Guide ticks all the boxes and you’ll enjoy every minute of the walk, even the steps!Without hesitation my tour with Pedro was the most informative, and enjoyable, walking tour I’ve had in my many visits to European,US and Australian cities. He ‘oozed’ information on geography, history, politics, archaeology, food (yes, food!) and wove them all into a narrative worthy of a book. His ability to interconnect the different and varied aspects of Lisbon made the three+ hours fly by. This review cannot do justice to how amazing my tour with Pedro was. But suffice it to say that if your other guides are half as knowledgeable and have the ability to present the story of Lisbon as he did then it will be well worth their services. Thank you Pedro.Written 24 January 2025

We joined two additional groups for a total of 8 persons, were transported in a minivan by our driver/guide Joao, after a short coffee/shop stop we started with Fatima where he made a short explanation of the area and main spots to see and then we had about an hour to stroll around at our desire; suffice to say that Fatima for a Catholic family awakes a very strong feeling. After Fatima we went to the Batalha monastery, again, after a short explanation we were left on our own to visit the church. Nazare is a beautiful coastal town famous for its high surfing waves (none as it was not the time for it) and Obidos is a charming medieval town surrounded by walkable walls; again, we were left to explore by ourselves.

Leonel was a great and informative guide. He was so passionate and enthused about discussing the history of Portugal and also liked answering questions. He was a joy to be with for the day. We had requested to have free time in Nazare based on our previous experience on the Sintra tour where we were taken to a formal family run restaurant outside of the main area of Sintra and lost an hour and a half of our time there. Since we were given free time in Nazare this tour went great! :) The highlight of the tour was Obidos and Fatima but it was nice to see Nazare and the other areas as well. Leonel did a great job driving and it was really a full day! For sure I thought it was worth the money.

My our today June 5th, 2021 to Fatima Nazare and Obidos was awesome. Our guide Nuno Fernandes was excellent, he was very knowledgeable, accommodating and we could tell he really loved his country and wanted to share it with us. He explained everything very clearly and he was very pleasant to listen to. One of our tour participants was having back pain, and instead of leaving us at the Hard Rock Cafe as the scheduled pick up and drop off area he was kind enough to drop her at the hotel she was staying at the Mundial. If you want an enjoyable trip with a great guide ask for this young man Nuno Fernandes. The tour was with local operator ( Inside Lisbon ) they were very good, reconfirmed everything and if you send them a text, they reply pretty quick. On a scale of 1-10 I give them a 10 Thank you for a wonderful day Odete Cardoso, San Diego CA

The tour allows you to see many sights in one day but feels very rushed. I would recommend taking a tour with less stops as this didn't allow enough time to fully enjoy, sight see, and shop at any of them. The "lunch included" option was okay but took too much time. I recommend skipping that option and instead have more time to explore and then grab something quick on my own.
The only big negative on this tour was the guide "Dorita?" She was very rude to everyone on the bus. She answered people's questions as if they were stupid. She spoke one or two sentences as a time in five different languages which became confusing. It would be better if she would say a paraphs or full description of the history or site we were visiting in each language separately.

I loved every part of this trip. I signed up because I wanted to go to Nazare (even in the off/low wave season). I wasn't especially interested in Fatima, but was agreeable about stopping there. Perhaps because it was a Sunday and there was an outdoor Mass in progress when we arrived, I found Fatima to be unexpectedly moving. Nazare was lovely, as expected and Obidos was like an added bonus. Our guide was informative and pleasant, providing a good balance between information and silence. The van was very comfortable. We all ate lunch at a restaurant that our guide selected, but you could go off on your own, if you chose. The meal was fabulous and reasonably priced and I returned home to find that it was one of the top rated restaurants in Nazare. I would definitely recommend this day trip and using Inside Lisbon Tours to get there.

Liliana is a most informative and skilled guide. In addition to her native Portuguese speaks excellent and fluent Spanish and English. Our group was comprised of mostly Americans, with a woman from Guanajuato, Mexico and a man from Lima, Peru, and she easily kept us all informed and entertained. I cannot recommend her and this tour highly enough. You will enjoy it very much.

Marilia was a superb host, answered an array of questions readily and fluently in several languages. very accommodating guide and itinerary. allowed time for pics, self exploration, etc. Fatima definitely a sight to see even if you’re not of the faith. Nazare was a salty, weather-beaten town, but definitely had character and characters ;). Medieval town at the end was cool. Bring cash cuz lots of little places don’t take expat credit cards. Forget the guys name, but he ran the liqueur sampling at the end—definitely bring cash cuz the fruits and veggies he grows onnhis farm were legit scrumptious. I didn’t bring cash, he knew that, but he still wanted us to taste cuz i guess he was just nice and proud of his produce. man, I wish i could have bought some of those little baby pears 🍐 that so outshined what i’m used to eating stateside!

A nice ride to places outside of Lisbon but no real guidance, history, or information from our guide
Sept 2024 • Couples
good itinerary but our guide left something to be desired. First of all, if you are going to Fatima, you envision 3 small kids in a field.. so what a surprise when we learned that the 'field' ( where 2 of the 3 visitations are said to have taken place) was NOT on the itinerary. Which was fine.. but the guide never said that the 'field' location was a mile away from the cement only location of the church, the pilgrimage , etc. I just think he should have told us it was a mile away. We would have high tailed it over there. Additionally, we visited a beautiful monastery, but again, were not informed that the monastery was to the left of the church and I could see my entire group was roaming around the church thinking that's all there was. In fact, when we finally asked a woman who was at a door to the monastery 'what was inside?' she said 'its the monastery' and you have to buy tickets to see it. So at that point we had only 20 minutes left to the stop but we hurried to buy tickets and see the monastery which was the best part of the tour stop. When we got back in the van and told the other people on the trip they all said the same thing: why didn't our guide tell us.?.I think part of the problem was that there were three different groups of people.. Portuguese, French and English. For sure a guide should never have to be translating into 3 languages on a trip. It takes up too much of the guide's time and consequently, the guide leaves out valuable information that he or she should be explaining all along the way. We didn't learn very much on this trip. Which was too bad.

Hello ,
Thank you for the feedback since we are always looking for to improve our services.
When booking you have access to the places that are included on the tour route. In Fátima, what's included is the Sanctuary.
Regarding Batalha Monastery , some guides choose not to mention the entrance to the Monastery and only point out to the church because there is usually no time to visit it and it is preferable to enjoy the church as much as possible.
It's publically advised that our tours can happen in one or two languages. To happen in 3 it must had been some kind of last minute setback. It's not supposed to.
Best regards,

Fatima, Nazare and Obidos were beautiful, 5 stars for the cities. We only had about an hour and a half in Fatima and regardless of your religious affiliation, that really isn’ t enough time to see everything there. We were given 5 minutes at the overlook at Nazare and then taken down to the town for lunch. We then moved on to the medieval town of Obidos where we had time to walk through the medieval town. I was unable to add photos for some reason
Our guide was not at his best (or maybe he was…) He shared he wasn't supposed to have to work but was called in. He told us to ask any questions we might have but became angry when we asked questions he didn't know the answer to. At one point he asked the group how old we thought he was (25) and informed us he wasn't google. We had a lovely family from Boston on our tour who had suffered a tragic year. The devoutly Catholic mother was accompanied by her two daughters, they ended up 5 minutes late to leave Fatima, which infuriated the guide. Once situated in the van, he shamed the daughters for not getting back on time and continued to mention we got shorter times in the other locations for that reason.
By the time we reached Obidos, it was clear that all 8 of us on the tour had had enough and he kept saying “lets start over and be friends”. Once at Obidos, the guide asked if anyone was afraid of heights, we did have an individual who answered yes. With that he decided to give us a special treat and serve our cherry cordial on the top of the medieval wall and repeatedly tried to talk the individual into coming upstairs.
On the return to Lisbon, the guide told us he had two degrees in tourism and then subjected us to videos on his phone at deafening volume to Fado songs and his sisters friends video for the cork industry all of which were annoying. The passenger in the front was made to hold his phone which she good naturedly did but every time her arm started to drop, he pushed her hand higher. This went on for a good 45 minutes. It was torture.

Hello Y5214WQkathyb,
First of all, thank you for your detailed feedback. We are always looking forward to improve our services.
Our tours have several stops and timmings that need to be respected so that the tour flows without any delays or constraints. If it were a private tour, the guide could be flexible about the group's preferences. However, that was not the case and there was at least one person in the group interested in seeing all the places on the itinerary. Even if it's just one person, the tour guide cannot simply ignore that.
Specifically about the behaviour of the tour guide, this surprised us a lot since we are used to receive excellent reviews and feedback on his behalf. We will definitely check up on this, to know what may have happened on that day.
We truly wish that you can have a better experience with us, on another oportunity,
Kind regards,

Our tour meeting point was in front of the Hard Rock Cafe which was very easy to find. The tour departed timely, and the air-conditioned minivan was clean and comfortable. The short group format of 8 people worked very well. Liliana was our guide, and she was truly excellent: very thorough, punctual, provided sufficient information and free time on each stop. All sites were very interesting and worth the visit. Not very far from Lisbon and great for 1 day. I do recommend this tour.

Does the tour stop at the lighthouse? (Farol de Nazaré)?
Written 4 January 2023
For us, the tour was scheduled to stop at Farol de Nazaré, but the road was closed so we were not able to. I specifically wanted to visit this location, so the guide allowed me to split from the group and walk to the lighthouse while the rest of the group went to the beach. She circled back to pick me up later without disrupting the tour.

Thank you

I guess you should address your concern to the organization that offers the tour; if I'm not mistaken, we had about an hour to visit the beautiful medieval town, and sure, it is not enough. I understand they also offer private tours, custom maid, but of course, that will imply a different cost for your group.

The tour began at 9:00 AM and ended at 6:00PM. One might consider this too long but the numerous sites and comprehensive background of each plus the information about the country in general made for an extremely satisfying experience. I highly recommend it.

Hi, We went on a Sunday. There was a huge mass in Fatima so a lot of people.
Everything was open but it might be a little less crowded on a Monday.
