About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Zanele D0 contributionsGreat day out to Fatima, Nazare and Obidos.Lovely tour. Andre' was good, made us all and shared excellent information about the different sites and towns. Food was great and the seven skirts ladies at Nazare were interesting. Great to see how rich and well preserved the culture is.Written 14 February 2025
- ElzMan0 contributionsBeautiful places with a superb guideWhat a great experience! Matteo is a great guide, his friendly and outgoing personality made it really enjoyable to spend the day with him. He also has a wide range of knowledge about the fascinating places we visited. Highly recommended!Written 10 February 2025
- christymW9924FL0 contributionsGreat day trip!We had a great time visiting Fatima, Batalha, Nazaré, and Óbidos. It’s a long and packed day but well worth it. João was a great guide!Written 20 January 2025
- PetersfromBrisbane0 contributionsGreat day out from LisbonA good trip out of Lisbon with some interesting stops along the way, each one different so that made it more memorable. A good size group for this type of excursion, with a minivan of 8 plus driver.Written 8 December 2024
- MARTIN C0 contributionsCalm and Beautiful PortugalThe tour was so much more than I was expecting. The history and architecture was worth the trip and then add the beauty of Nazare and the trip became epic. Nuno is an excellent tour guide (chill, knowledgeable and friendly). I would happily take this tour again.Written 15 October 2024
- Y9523KFlaurac0 contributionsComplete waste of money. What a SCAM and waste of money! Our tour guide, Ruben, picked us up at a hotel just a few blocks away from where we were staying. The description was correct that it was a "small group"---the four in my group and 2 other women. Cannot fault our tour guide for the fact that it was a cloudy, foggy, drizzly morning, but the rest is on him: We drove up to the center of Sintra (I assume) and were told we would explore on our own. He took off, so there was no one to ask for suggestions/recommendations, etc. We walked back to the car and were driven up to the Pena Palace and he let us out (in the drizzle) while he parked. We then followed him to a long line of tourists waiting for one of 2 small tour buses making the property loop to take us up to the Palace. He then told us that there were "too many people" there that day and there were no more slots for people to actually go into the Palace. THAT'S WHAT WE PRE-PAID FOR! He walked us through a little open area outside, but we couldn't even take any photos of "views" because of the fog. We were allowed to quickly walk into a small chapel, and out again, then back on the little bus down to the parking area. That was it. That's all we saw of Pena Palace! That was the reason why we booked this tour! He then drove us to the Cabo da Roca, a monument marking the westernmost point on continental Europe. He pointed to the monument and never told us how much time we'd be able to stay there. While we walked over and took the obligatory photo in front of the marker, we couldn't see anything of the view because of the fog. My husband and sons went for a walk on the boardwalk area in hopes of catching a glimpse of the ocean further out, while I waited for them at the monument. 5 minutes later Ruben contacts me on What's App, obviously agitated that we weren't back yet! I texted my husband and they all hurried back to the parking lot. The final stop was the waterfront city of Cascais. Ruben gave us the recommendation of a chicken restaurant (which we never found), and we were completely on our own again. Ruben took off, not to be seen again until the agreed to meeting time at the car. At least the sun peeked through the clouds for a bit of that visit. Four adults cost just over $400...We could have done all the above for free just taking our rental car. Clearly, this operation is a SCAM and I strongly suggest you to either choose another tour group, or self direct. By the way...I have thousands of followers on my Twitter/X account...and that will be the next place I alert people to this disgrace of a "tour."Written 11 October 2024
- valdaross0 contributionsBirthday trip to Portugal. My company of 3 took this tour on Wednesday September 4th with the Grayline group. Our tour guide was Rosa and our driver was Samuel. - F9438WNangelah0 contributionsPerfect Day at Sintra & CascaisSintra and We were a large family group ranging from ages 8 to 88. Our guides Andre and Ruben were PERFECT. They tailored their guiding to keep everyone entertained and laughing. On the road they played a mix of Portuguese music o of different eras. At the seaside town of Cascais we had free time to stroll the quaint streets, with some exploring the fort while others sat at a cafe to take in the view. Our lunch stop at a traditional village restaurant was a true gem, the best meal we had in Portugal!! At the castle is where our guides truly shined. They pointed out small details we would never have noticed on our own, and gave us the perfect balance of historical information and time to explore on our own. We even overheard a couple saying they wish they had booked guides like ours!! Thank you Andre and Ruben for a perfect outing. 😍Written 5 July 2024

- DINA M0 contributionsAmazing TownsVisiting Fátima is a dream come true. I’ve watched the movie The Miracle of Our Lady of Fatima when I was a kid and had been wondering when I could visit the place and finally I did. A must visit place for those believers of miracles and the faith. Batalha monastery - the historical pride of Portugal and architectural brilliance of this place is extraordinary and the facade breathtaking. I have not seen anything like it. Lunch in this town was amazing. Food was so good thanks to our guide who recommended the restaurant. Viewing from the top of the hill, Nazare is very picturesque wish it had been a sunny day but even in a cloudy day it’s still lovely. did not see the 100 feet wave 😊 though. Óbidos walled village is quite beautiful and full of history . Lots of unexpected amazing shops like the one that has a violinist playing. Lots of churches ( 7 I think as mentioned by the guide) inside this small walled village. The tour is worth the time if you have it.Written 27 June 2024

If you are in Lisbon one day you must employ and organize to go to Sintra. Surely you should buy the ticket online possibly for lunchtime or a little more... we had the entrance to the castle at 2.30 pm and it was almost perfect... here's why: Departing from Lisbon Tossio train station at 10 am we arrive in Sintra at 11 am here must take the bus that leads to the castle another 40-50 minutes due to traffic, after eating a sandwich brought from Lisbon we enter the park... access at any time regardless of the time in the ticket because that time is for the castle. In fact, after waiting for the shuttle (which we had purchased together with the ticket) on site you can not do, but you can get there on foot by doing a little 'climb... we visit all the exteriors of the castle and arrive at 2.15 pm and get in line to enter the castle.

We had an amazing day in Sintra and beyond with Antonio. A skilled guide (and driver), we felt safe and comfortable on our day-long journey. We’ve already recommended this excursion to friends. We wouldn’t have been able to make all of the additional stops beyond Sintra (Cascais, Cabo da Roca, Boca do Inferno) on our own, and Antonio made sure we didn they in the perfect sequence to avoid crowds and maximize views (with some fog).

Excellent trip, very pleased. Igor, our guide, was a delight. Even though he has done this tour probably hundreds of times, he was friendly, energetic & accommodating. I would take this tour again, especially with Igor. Thanks for showing our group a great time!

Igor was an incredible tour guide! He went above and beyond to ensure our group had a great time, had fun, and learned a lot about Portuguese history and where we were going for the day (Sintra and Cascais). I was added to the tour at the last minute and he was accommodating and so helpful. Great recommendation for a farm restaurant-very authentic and super great food. Our tour even ran late and he made sure to get me right back to where I was staying. Definitely book this tour! I will be back as well!

Thanks Carson for a great tour, we had a nice trip to a few beaches and Cascais. Then enjoyed a great lunch meal near Cabo da Roca at CasaDo Luis Restaurante that included wine, appetizers, very nice main course, coffee and desert for 22 euro. Carson explained a lot of history along the way and during our time in the Pena Palace. We had a group of 7 people and was perfect. He even was nice enough to dropp us at our hotel.

Our guide, Mauro Diaz, was an energetic and enthusiastic tour guide. He set the mood for a fun and interesting tour of Sintra Palace and Cascais. He made great recommendations for wining and dining in Lisbon, too. I highly recommend this trip as an excursion from Lisbon to see some of the countryside of Portugal.

Had a great day on this tour! Our guide Nuno really knows his history and told us great stories throughout the day. Super chill, great guy. The restaurant he recommended for lunch was amazing. Food and service were both great. I totally recommend this tour to anyone visiting Portugal. We got to see and learn so much in a day.

Is there time on this tour to also visit Castelo dos Mouros when in Sintra?
Written 19 February 2020
Not really as elizabethm has mentioned. The guides usually suggest a typical restaurant away from Sintra for lunch (e18 pp). Our group agreed with him and found the food excellent. Make sure you try the Portuguese coffee and green wine! (If you like white wine).
