What to Expect
Meet your fellow foodies at Praça do Comércio and begin your tour with a short walk to Mouraria, the medieval-style district. Get insider tips and learn the history of Portuguese cuisine from your guide.
Stop at six bars and restaurants over the next few hours to sample some of Portugal’s finest specialities. Nibble on three different kinds of cheeses as well as pata negra (cured meat) at an artisan shop. Taste the famous Portuguese canned sardines and pastel de nata (Portuguese custard tarts) while enjoying local wines from Porto in a traditional bar. Sample some Portuguese petiscos, or tapas, before ending with a shot of Ginjinha, a liqueur made from sour cherries.

When we did this tour in Lisbon there were only 6 of us in total. Other food tours we’ve done through the same company, we’ve found ourselves in a group of 4 or 8. From our experience, they are small and private tours. Hope... More

It was raining on the day of our tour and rained HEAVILY at some point during that we had to stay a bit at one of the stores we were buying food from. So yes, I think the tour will still go on.
