Knowledgeable guide, good pace: better than navigating sintra on your own for sure
Silva is a cheerful and knowledgeable guide. Seeing these sights would not have been the same without his insights and I was surprised he could answer many of my husbands random questions. The tour is well structured: the pickup spot was easy to navigate to and our guide located everyone in the group. You have a nice amount of time for breakfast and lunch in sintra: enough time to relax but not get bored. I’m glad we weee able to visit the famous bakery and get a coffee. I think the pacing was very well done. You can see the sights, take pictures, explore a bit but we returned by 4:30-5ish so we still had some time in Lisbon in the evening. I wasn’t sure whether to try and navigate sintra on our own or with a tour, but after we got through it I’m so glad I booked this tour as I think trying to get transport to and from and navigating everything on our own would be stressful, and the cost of transport alone would be close to what they charge for this tour. Thanks Silva! :) I highly recommend this tour!

Enlightening, enjoyable experience in Evora and Monsaraz
We had a great day in Evora and Mansaraz. Our tour guide was very friendly and accommodating, providing a lot of guided time with interesting information as well as time to explore the areas on our own. Both Evora and Mansaraz are beautiful old towns, much quieter than Lisbon but full of history and culture. We loved learning about and seeing the influence of Rome and Morocco and the views in Monsaraz were amazing. The bone chapel in Evora is an astonishing place to witness, and the other sites were incredible to experience as well. The wine tasting was near the wineries with informative staff and though we have had more direct winery tours in other places, we both really enjoyed it and left with a few bottles. The whole day was memorable and one of the highlights of our week spent in Lisbon.

      Most Interesting Day Tour Ever
This was by far one of the best tours I've taken worldwide. It was a surprise because I didn't know much about Sintra nor the incredible architecture involved in the Regaleira Estate. The gardens are incredibly impressive but Palacio de Regaleira is a blend of majestic Manueline and Gothic influences. Every inch of the palace has ornate carving work and Freemasonry symbolism with pavilions, galleries and gazebos. The Initiation Well part of the grounds is the most memorable, especially if you are energized by architecture, landscaping, and esoteric mysteries. Also, I've read many full-length articles online with countless photos, and none of them properly captured what this place really is. The tour is composed of 2 legs, with several breaks to explore Sintra. The first leg is the exploration of the Regaleira Estate, which will blow your mind. There is a 90 minute break where you can find a restaurant to chill, enjoy a meal while discussing the crazy experience you just had, and have a few glasses of wine or whatever sounds good. The second leg is the Pena Palace tour, which is quite fascinating on its own, especially if you want to know how royalty lived between the 1500s and 1800s. There are more antiquities and heirlooms in this tour than I've seen in quite some time. If you know what to look for it is obvious that all of the Portugese Elite were deeply involved in the occult as revealed in the architecture, frescos, artwork, and carvings. At the end of the Pena Palace tour be sure to observe the lineage and pedigree charts which reveal (through ommission) an eventual bloodline fusing into the British Monarchy when royalty fled to England in the early 20th Century. That alone is fascinating. My guide, João (John), struck a balance between factual information, speculation, and some key insider info. If you go on this tour, ask for him specifically. Like all of Portugal, wear walking shoes with good support, and be ready for paying attention to detail. If you are looking for mindless activity this is not the tour for you. It is very stimulating and will require a desire for experiencing the most unique tour in all of Southern Portugal.

Do you love to study the Occult? Go to Sintra!
we took an uber from Lisbon to Sintra for a quick day trip. No reservations made. We hit a local brewpub, a jewelry shop, and spent hours exploring the Regaleira. I could spend another entire day here. If you enjoy Dan Brown novels and the occult, this one is a deep dive to research.

      Well worth it
The guides Enish & Myriam were great - very knowledgeable & very friendly. I’ve never done a tour led by an opera singer before & she was amazing. This is definitely a tour that requires some fitness as it involves walking on cobbles & hills - like most of Lisbon too! I’d recommend taking a waterproof and comfortable non slip shoes - the weather at Pena Palace was significantly different to that at Sintra. Well worth a visit

      No guided tour needed
A mistake on our part. No guide is needed for this. We could have been unlucky with our guide : he didn’t provide any useful information. Best visit without a guide and experience the castle in that way.

      We had an amazing time!
We visited Portugal for our honeymoon and knew that we couldn’t leave before seeing these palaces. This tour, and our guide Silva, was an amazing peek into some of the history and beauty that Sintra has to offer. The tour offered a great mix of interactive guided tours/overview and free time to explore the city, eat breakfast/lunch, and shop. I would highly recommend!

      I think I said enough
Our host, Miriam was the best thing on the trip. Although the attractions are beautiful and of much historical significance, she brought them to life with her enthusiasm, in depth knowledge and passion for her profession. Oh she also surprised not only us but many other visitors when she broke out in spontaneous operatic melody, much to everyone’s delight. A very talented and lovely lady.

Make like Nike and Just Do It
Did this tour on Saturday. Myriam, our tour guide for Team Sporting Lisbon (this I visited the Estádio da Luz the day before - oops! 😬). She was very knowledgeable about the places that we visited, providing lots of information that would have been lost on me had I visited these places on my own. As I was sorted into team Green, I didn’t have as much interaction with our other tour guide (I apologise but I have forgotten her name). However, from what I did hear, she was equally as knowledgeable and approachable. Myriam also entertained us through her virtuosity with classical singing at places round the Regaleira where such performances would have been conducted. This brought the history of the place to life. The best part was the Regaleira with its fascinating stories, architecture and grounds. It was picturesque from start to finish. Pena Palace was also stunning with its upper courtyard overlooking the forest and ocean through a succession of arches, the multicoloured walls, the vivid stained glass windows and the symbolism in the architecture. If you have to pick between the two then go with the Regaleira. If your budget allows it though, then do this tour. It was the highlight in a holiday of amazing places. Thank you to our tour guides and bus driver for a wonderful experience! To Myriam and our driver, I promise I will give the Jose Alvalade a visit the next time I’m in Lisbon before deciding whether I am red or green 😅

      Sintra
Our guide João, was not only passionate and knowledgeable, but also enthusiastic and willing to explain the historical facts of these beautiful places. Our tour was in Spanish, and João did a really good job. His recommendations for visits and meals were also very good for us. I would definitely recommend him for a guided tour.

Historical Saint George Castle with views of Lisbon
we took the classic Tram # 28 to get there. it was worth the ride as it took us thru the many streets of Lisbon and up the hill to the Castle. we wore proper hiking shoes for this tour as the pavement is rugged and steeped. the view of Lisbon is breath taking and spectacular. highly recommend.

      Fantastic Tour - go book!
We had a fantastic trip yesterday with our guide Jojoa. There were a few teething problems outside of his control like an accident on the motorway just outside of Lisbon, but Jojoa managed all issues like a champ and kept our trip on time. There was so much to see and do but enough time was allocated at all destinations so it didn't feel rushed. I also liked that a lot of people had booked but they split everyone into small groups instead of putting everyone onto a giant bus. Our guide was so knowledgeable and funny - we ended the trip tired but super happy. I definitely recommend!!

First time visiting Lisbon and wanted to explore other surrounding area outside the city. My spouse and I decided to take a tour. We had a great tour guide. Can't thank Paulo enough for skillfully navigating the busy traffic within the city limits and providing information about the cities and districts.
The highlights of the tour in out opinion were a stop in Nazare and the Medieval village of Obidos. Paulo gave passengers an hour an a half to explore and have a great lunch in Nazare'. In the Midieval village of Obidos Had a great time with the group drinking Ginja, a sweet liquer made from Morella cherries. Paulo, was very personable and extremely safe driver! I recommend this tour for sure.

Out 3rd tour with this company was to Fatima, Obibos and Nazare. Our guides were Andre and Barbara. Since this was our 3rd trip with Andre we really took the time in rout to ask about the people of Portugal and their lives which is a great interest to us. Of course the sites were amazing as was the food and company. Barbara was delightful with great stories of legends and pieces of history that were likely additional to usual conversation. As before Andre is a wealth of historical knowledge. Both guides are very nice people whose company we enjoyed and we felt that we were immersed in the culture. Had a great day. The guides love Portugal and so do we. Highly recommended.

We signed up for a tour with Tugatrips - they fit us in and we ended up with a private tour with Miguel. It was a very personal tour and Miguel was very thorough in explaining Fatima, Batahla, Nazare, and Odidos He personalized the trip for us. He made us a reservation for lunch. We got to go right up and sit down at the restaurant with an optimum view over the coastline. It was fantastic. We really enjoyed getting to know Miguel and the country side.

We started in a souvenir factory in Fatima. A nice store but not worth repeating. Then to the Basilica of Fatima. Impressively large. Then to the Batalha Monastery. Then to Nazarè. What a great view over a wide beach. On the advice of our guide Paulo Silva, we had lunch at Maria do Mar. Then the journey continued, but not before Paulo treated us to a great view of Nazarè. Ōbidos was our last destination of the day, a town built inside a castle. Only positive comments about Paulo. Highly recommended.

Well organized day tour from Lisbon to Obidos, Batalha, and Fatima. Our guide, Hugo, was enthusiastic and helpful, and a good driver too, happy to answer any questions. Each of the towns offered something different for the visitor that was very interesting. Obidos was a charming Medieval hilltop town. Batalha was a historic town with an impressive Gothic monastery, and Fatima, one of Christianity’s most important pilgrimage sites, was a moving place to visit. Highly recommended tour company, and day tour.

I would give this 6 stars if I could! The tours are small groups (6-8 people), educate you about what you will see and then let you explore the town on your own for 45-60 minutes. It's perfect if you like to know more about what you are seeing but don't want to be forced to follow a guide around in a big group with an earpiece in all day. As a photographer it was ideal because I could explore and find special moments on my own. Paola, our guide, was a true treasure! She seamlessly translated for the three couples on the tour in English, Portuguese and French. She was SO kind and made sure to make everyone feel included. She is truly passionate about the significance of the buildings, UNESCO World Heritage Sites and beauty of her country and it was transmitted to us. She went out of her way to give us opportunities to see big waves at Nazaré and pulled over to show us a cork tree on the side of the road which was a special treat. I highly recommend them (and Paola) for a truly spectacular experience into parts of Portugal you might not be able to see otherwise. Don't hesitate or look elsewhere, book with Tugatrips and you won't be disappointed. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to Paola for giving us one of our best days in Portugal. We will be back!

My wife and I booked the TugaTrips tour at the Cascais Tourist Office where the staff were very helpful.
On the day of the tour 08/04/2019 we were collected from our hotel in Cascais by our tour guide and driver David at 9am, we travelled in a 9 seater minibus to all the locations and were dropped back at the hotel at about 7pm. There was ample time to enjoy each location.
David was an excellent guide, he was considerate, informative and despite having to converse in three languages, he kept us all fully engaged. His knowledge and pride in the area shone through, he was pleased to answer any questions and nothing was too much troubel. A rare gem!
The trip was the highlight of our holiday.

This week we took the Fatima, Obidos, Batalha, Nazare tour and enjoyed it. They come and pick you up at your hotel and bring you back, which is a big plus. Our driver Manuel was very professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. He explained a lot of the history and we were very satisfied with both the company and driver. Would definitely take tours with them again.
