Nelson was an OUTSTANDING guide. He arrived early and his van was very clean and comfortable. He is extremely knowledgeable about Fatima and the entire story of Our Lady of the Rosary. His attention to detail of the entire narrative was fantastic. He took us first to Fatima to see the shepherd children’s homes and explained in great detail the living conditions in 1916/17. We saw the two spots the Angle of Peace appeared and one of the spots where the apparition of Mary occurred. We then traveled to the Church in Fatima (his parish) and learned important details about the church and saw the baptismal fount of the shepherd children. We then traveled to the Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary. He explained all the details both inside and outside of the Basilica. We then discussed the tree the shepherd children used to wait for Mary to appear and saw the Chapel of the Apparitions. Our final stop was the modern Basilica of the Trinity. Again, Nelson was very knowledgeable about the architectural designs and interesting details of the basilica. He provided us with a very complete and fact filled tour of the sites and story of Fatima. This was the best, most complete tour of the entire Fatima experience. Nelson gets our highest recommendation.

Nelson was a wonderful tour guide! He was friendly and professional plus so knowledgeable about the beautiful Story of Fátima. Plan your trip around a mass time. Go early and purchase mementos at the gift shop before you go in. Have them blessed at the conclusion of mass. Also, have small amounts of cash to spend on candles that you purchase near the shrine.

We did a 2 hour walking tour with Nelson with my three children. Having had no experience in Portugal prior to this trip we couldn’t be happier. Nelson was engaging with my 10 year old son and we learned so much about Our Lady of Fatima. Thanks to Nelson we knew to purchase the 100th Centennial rosary beads and brought 5 pairs back to our family. We would highly recommend him!!!!

On my way to Coimbra, short drop over in Fatima. Incredible place. Huge square bigger than The Vatican in Rome. The palacio, the church and the cathedral are huge and very nice despite cloudy weather. The area outside is well organised (car park, shopping center...toilets... etc. Very surprised by the size after a week in Roma. A must go when visiting Portugal

My wife and I went to Fatima several years ago and wanted to return bringing our kids when they were older. The first time we visited Fatima, we did not hire a tour company. We walked the town and sites by ourselves. We enjoyed the experience, but left feeling we missed something. This year, we had the opportunity to bring our family of 7 (five kids aged 4 to 14) to Portugal and visit Fatima. We decided this time to hire a guide to take us around showing us all the Fatima sites. What a difference it made having a local guide! The experience was truly amazing! Nelson took us to each of the apparition sites, the homes of the three children, the parish church of Fatima, and the main shrine and pilgrim complex where the Virgin Mary appeared to 3 children with a basilica & chapel. Each step of the way Nelson explained in detail the history and significance of what we were seeing. We were able to experience Fatima through the eyes of the three children whom the Virgin Mary appeared to. Nelson was very patient answering questions from my kids as young as 4 to myself. We never felt rushed. He gave us plenty to time at each site to explore and ask questions. I can’t say enough how incredible the tour was. If you ask our kids what they liked the most of our three week travels in Europe and Africa, they will tell you Fatima. This tour made an impression on them they will have the rest of their lives. I highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to deepen their faith and understanding of one of the most important signs from God in the 20th century. Thank you Nelson this memorable experience!

My husband and I had an amazing tour! Nelson presented the story of Fatima along with architectural and artistic history. He painted the story in a way that we could place ourselves in the space and time 1916 and 1917. Seeing the grave sites in the Basilica was so powerful for me in addition to meeting Maria Dos Anjos (Lucia’s niece). Our tour covered all the sites and was very complete. I highly recommend Nelson and the Fatima Experience!

My Fatima experience was way beyond my expectations. Fatima is beautiful in every way but I was blown away when Nelson enabled me to see and understand much deeper about Fatima. I have had private tour guides all over the world when I travelled and Nelson is the top of my list. Nelson is very gifted with his knowledge and he had a degree in tourism. He grew up in Fatima so he knew Fatima. Nelson is a man with many talents, his knowledge and superb communication skill, he is a bright man with the kindest heart. At several points in time, upon listening to his stories of Fatima which he presented with such a heartfelt passion, my tears rolled down and which was the first time for me to show my emotions before someone I just knew. We had several engaging conversations just like good friends would do. I have joined “The Magnetism of Fatima”, “Beyond the Sanctuary ” and the “Batahal Monastery” tours. My Fatima experience would never be so unique without Nelson. I would highly recommend him and his company. Nelson is a precious gem in Fatima. I’m grateful that I found him to take me around.
