- 169juan_0 contributionsa must-see!The self-guided tour of Belem Tower was great! The audio guide was intresting but sometimes a bit too long in some parts. I wish there were more benches to sit on while listening. Also, it was a bit crowded, which made it hard to enjoy some areas. However, the history and views made up for it. The view from the top is absolutely breathtaking and worth it. Overall, despite these small issues, I highly recomend this tour to anyone visiting Lisbon. It’s a must-see and the tower itself is just stunning!Written 10 July 2024
- paula_E3940FY0 contributionsfantastic tour of the tower! An amazing self-guided tour of Belém Tower! The audio guide was clear and engaging, providing fascinating historical insights. Exploring at my own pace was fantastic, and the views from the top were breathtaking. Highly recommend this tour for anyone visiting Lisbon!Written 10 July 2024
- janetmreynolds0 contributionsLong lines to enter even after purchasing ticketEven after you purchase your tickets there was , at least, an hour long wait time in line to enter. Plus the ticket office, on site, apparently closes for 1.5-2 hours each day around noon. Very interesting looking from the outside, but after asking several other tourists who had been inside, and the ticket office employee (who was very patient and informative), we decided to not wait 1-2 hours standing in line to get in the austere Belem tower. Several people said that the monastery down the street (walking distance) was a stupendous example of Manuelleta architecture, and definitely worth the wait in line. And the famous original Belem pastry shop is close to the monastery.Written 13 September 2023
