      Very Disappointing
The person serving wasn't particularly friendly, had troubles taking our order, and when it was received the coffee was the wrong order, despite asking multiple times. Don't waste your time at this place.

We had a few of their pastries and coffee here. The coffee was delicious and the pastries were fresh and sweet. The girl at the counter was very sweet and helpful. Go have a little taste of Portugal…

      traditional Portuguese pastries
This bakery sells traditional Portuguese pastries, and it also hosts a pastel de nata cooking class. We did the class (via AirBnB Experiences), but returned again for coffee and a snack. Everything we tried was sweet and tasty, and with coffee, will give you a nice sugary boost.

Must do Portuguese pastry workshop on your Lisbon trip!
We loved this workshop with Filipa! It was so much fun and definitely a must if you're in Lisbon. We happened to have a small class with just the two of us and Filipa, so we got to participate in most of the process of making the pastéis de nata and the Sintra pillows. Boy, it's quite a bit of work that goes into making these pastries but Filipa made it all seem easy...and the results were sooo delicious. One of the best pastel de nata that we had on our trip...freshly baked right out of the oven. The workshop takes place in the shop and there's so much goodies to try there too!

      Great Traditional Portugese Bakery
We LOVED the Casa dos Ovos Moles em Lisboa. We visited this bakery through an Airbnb experience to learn how to make the incredible pastel de nata, which I would highly recommend. The atmosphere and set up is so incredibly adorable. The owners were so nice and knowledgeable about the history of the pastel de nata. The pastry is so packed with history (and flavor), it was a highlight of the trip to Lisbon.

      Great Portuguese Bake off
This is a must do activity whilst in Lisbon, Maria and Filipa were excellent teachers but alas my wife and I were not great students, nevertheless with their expert guidance we managed to produce lovely delicious pastries. There was plenty of hands on participation, but more importantly fun and laughter, a really enjoyable evening which I totally recommend.

      Hidden gem of Lisbon
This pastry class was AMAZING! We learned from Maria and Filipa, both of whom were warm, welcoming, knowledgeable and funny. The class was the perfect amount of participation by students and demonstration by the professionals. They took us through step-by-step instructions for two famous Portuguese pastries, and allowed us to take notes to recreate at home. We enjoyed every minute of this class, and will recommend to anyone visiting Lisbon. 5 stars!!

Such a fun class. I was expecting more hands on, but the class would have taken 8 hours. We laughed, oh did we laugh. The class had only 4 people so we got to take part in the easier baking tasks. We made 2 different pastries and they were both DELICIOUS. Rute was an amazing instructor and obviously has years of experience. You really appreciate what goes into these yummy treats. They may have been tastier because of the personal love that went into them. My friend is going to Portugal in a few weeks and I will be sure to make sure this class is on her itinerary.

Fun to learn about the tarts we had eaten all week!
This was an excellent class, and we enjoyed seeing the intricate steps to produce a pastel de nata, as well as the pillows of Sintra. Ours turned out great and we certainly would have had a tougher time trying to make them once we returned home without the class. Very enjoyable evening!

      Traditional Portuguese cakes
We stumbled on this while walking in the Chiado shopping area. It was a delight to chat to the owner of this shop and cafè as we tasted her specialities from different regions of Portugal. Most of the cakes are made with the egg yokes, which were traditionally left when using the whites to stiffen the priests white robes. This was a way of using up the yokes while creating something tasty. I really liked the figs. They also have baking courses.

      Great activity
We made pastel de nata and one other pastry, both were delicious. Chef was very entertaining and played guitar for us. Staff was very knowledgeable about history of the pastries and clearly passionate. It was a very enjoyable way to spend an evening.

      Great experience!
The chef, the interpreters, and the facilitator were excellent! Everyone had a great time! WE made two different kinds of pastries, one the famous pastel do nata and another from the Sintra area.

Great for new and experienced bakers!
The class was fantastic. It was more of a collaborative demo, than a cooking class. We took turns helping out the chef on one station, and collectively created one batch of each dessert. However, I think this is what worked best considering it's a small space and was the perfect amount of time. Longer than 2 hours would've been long for new bakers, but even experienced bakers picked up a few new tricks. Both the chef and our host were fantastic, cheerful, and taught us many little tricks and techniques. We made 2 different pastries, utilizing the same ingredients for the filling and for the puff pastry. However, with just a few changes, we ended up with significantly different desserts! It was amazing seeing how different the puff pastry changed with just 2 extra laminations, or how the filling changed based on a different techniques mixing and controlling temperature. I'll definitely be trying these techniques at home!

So fun and educational - don’t miss it!
We had a great time in this class. The chef was very accommodating and answered all of our questions. We were a small group of 4. Everyone participated and enjoyed getting to know each other and the art of making Portuguese pastry. One of the highlights of our trip. We also enjoyed exploring the area after the class. It was easy to find with only a brief walk from the metro.

Myself and my husband attended the Pastel de Nata workshop and we had a fantastic time. Filipa was a wonderful host and made the experience really fun and lighthearted.
We were with another group for the workshop and it was lovely to all sit at the end of the workshop with Filipa and enjoy our creations alongside a great chat.
I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this workshop to anyone visiting Lisbon.

The Pastel de Nata workshop in Lisbon was terrific. Under the guidance of our accomplished and compassionate teacher, the six of us learned to make puff pastry and the egg cream filling to create this traditional Portuguese pastry. Best of all, we got to enjoy the fruit of our labor with coffee and wine afterwards. Highly recommend this workshop and pastry chef!

This was one of the best things we did in Lisbon! Fillipa was a very skilled pastry chef, who patiently taught us how to make every step of the pastel de nata. A small group setting so personal attention was given to each. So much fun and we got to enjoy the fruits of our labour at the end with a glass of port or coffee! Delicious!

Really enjoyed learning how to make the pastel de natas - Filipa was a great host and a great teacher. She really took the time to go through the entire process and explained each step in great detail whilst giving us all a chance to practice the different methods involved. The pastel de natas tasted great (as did the other Portuguese delights she had on offer in the cafe) and I can’t wait to make them at home now - hopefully they’ll be just as good! Thanks Filipa 😊

My boyfriend and I took a class with Filipa and spent a wonderful afternoon learning how to make pastel de nata from scratch. We spent over two hours learning how to make the custard from scratch and most amazingly how to laminate and shape the pastry dough. Filipa has a lot of experience and manages to get the entire class involved in making the pastel. The best part is bonding with the group and eating the pastel at the end. Overall, it was a wonderful experience and I cannot wait to make the recipe we learned soon.

This event is highly recommended! Filipa received us very well! Very attentive and friendly! You immediately feel at home. Her knowledge about Lisboa is amazing. She told us all about the history of the pastel de nata. The location is great! We went for the pastel de nata workshop. That was a great experience! Filipa helped us through it with her craftsmanship and patience. It was super fun to make but it really is a craftsmanship. We finally succeeded! After the workshop we enjoyed the homemade pastel de nata. Was delicious! I drank a glass of Port with it. Delicious! We will definitely go back! In Filipa's shop you can also buy other delicious desserts / pastries / delicacies. Top quality! Conclusion. You must have done this, a pastel de nata workshop at Filipa! Highly recommended

I was unfortunately not able to attend my workshop and was not able to call. I visited the shop twice to explain and apologise and ask if they would consider fitting me in at a later date. I also sent an email to this effect, but it was apparently not possible. I was very disappointed not to have attended the workshop and also at their initial lack of response. I expect they have quite a few “no-shows”, so understand their frustration, but also feel that under the circumstances, they could perhaps have tried to fit an extra person in. A very costly missed opportunity. I won’t pre-book events in future

The workshop was very interesting. The class was in the same place that has public service. So during it, there was the noise of a cappuccino machine, customer conversations, an employee passing by all the time, which distracts attention a little. The recipe was sent the next day by email. It would be interesting to be able to write down details immediately so as not to forget.

A fun way to spend a few hours in Lisboa! Making the famous and delicious pastel de nata! Filipa will walk you through the many steps that lead to the amazing little cup of custard deliciousness!

This is a hands on exercise. You get to help out throughout. And then, you get to taste the lovely desert you helped make!
