Absolutely mesmerising. I wasnt going to go but so glad I did. Founded by Queen Amelia in 1908 it contains the carriages from Royal Household. Oldest dates to 1708 which took King Philip from Spain to Lisbon in two days! The 3 Ambassador coaches sent as envoy to the Pope are works of art. Magnificent afterwards King Pedro had them shipped back to Lisbon. This was so good I went back twice. Cafe is very good (you can go there before visiting its outside building) staff so helpful. Only criticism is the poor quality gallery of the monarchs. I dudbt have time to see it first time. There no information on them and itss not even portraits of them just Picasso style pictures . However this is magnificent to see Royal Household carriages. Cant wait to visit again!!

This is an awful tour and I have asked for a refund but none is forthcoming. You have to dowload an app and then download the tour, take headphones for your own phone - all of which was complicated and not made clear at the outset. When we got there it wasnt clear whether or not we had bought a ticket to get in and the tour or just the tour and needed then to buy an actual ticket to get in. No wifi so couldnt access any information and then the queue was 2.5 hours to get in. We did not queue up as it was hot and 2 of our party were in there 80's and it was too long... so it was just a complete waste of money. It wasnt clear when I booked it that you had to download stuff and take headphones.

Really interesting gallery. The art is divided into different sections. Lots of information on display about the artists and different art movements and styles. Very worth a visit if you are interested in art or culture.

This was a huge monastery, with very large rooms and very interesting architecture, but we have seen so many different museums and things. This did not stand out and you had to wait in a huge line even with buying tickets online beforehand . there are too many people traveling it’s not fun when you have to wait in long lines so if you want to wait in line go see it but it’s huge place with a bunch of big empty rooms

This is a great off-the-beaten-path place to visit. Not crowded at all. The description states that it is an audio tour; however, no headsets are available. If headsets were available, the experience would significantly improve. Still worth the visit without.

While it was great to see, the 100 mins wait to go inside simply wasn’t worth it. If there is a long line line, save your time and just admire from the outside. The Lisbon Castle is far better bang for buck.

Scam—ticket didn’t work. It had someone else name and another date. Total scam. Waste of time. Avoid this company at all costs. I’ll be doing a chargeback.

It’s a beautiful monastery inside and out side. Very peaceful & serene place. But the down side is even if you have purchased a ticket in advance , there is no separate Q for the ticket holders. You have to stand with crowed waiting to buy tickets. The Q is very huge and better to go early even though it moves fast. Unfortunately we couldn’t see the church as it was closed for some religious ceremony and only opens after few hours, by the time you finish the tour of monastery. If you have another tour booked on same day it’s impossible to wait for the church to open. But we enjoyed the beautiful blue sky & sunshine around the monastery.

The monastery is amazing but it is free to enter , the ticket entitled us to enter the cloisters which are lovely. However huge queue despite having tickets so not sure any benefits to pre booking,

the eticket was never received, only a pdf stating this is not your ticket. I folliowed the instructions to download ticket however the ticket was never emailed nor texted. I had to buy another ticket on site.

The lines at these two attractions are unbelievable. We arrived at the Belem Tower 15 minutes after opening and waited an hour and 40 minutes before we were able to enter the Tower. We had plans for the afternoon and were unable to visit the Monastery.

Overpriced. Long queue. Outside looks impressive but when you get in very little to see. Was quoted in Aus $ but charged in Euros and was unable to cancel.

Amazing historic church- featured short organ concert! Took tour to tower top- among views! Spend at least 1-2hrs- Nice photo exhibit too.

Not as advertised, difficulty getting logged into the app, which is completely separate from Tripadvisor / Viator. Awful.

We enjoyed touring the Monastery quite a bit. Very serene and beautiful. Ultimately it was well worth the wait. That said, we purchased these tickets for a specific time at 9:30am, which was the first tour of the day. We had read other reviews, and took previous advice to take the earliest tour. The line, however, was not organized by tour time, as other venues are. Turns out, we could have purchased tickets for any time on that day, and it would not have mattered, as there was only one line. We arrived around 9:30am per our pre-purchased tickets and there was already a pretty long line. We ended up waiting 90 minutes to get in. Can't imagine how long others behind us waited, there honestly must have been 500+ people behind us. My feedback to the company we bought these tickets from: you need to tell people to show up at the Monastery no later than 9am, recommend 8:30! There is no point to offering time slots, because they don't honor whatever time you purchased. Also, there are TWO lines, one for the church, and the other for the Monastery itself. The church is a quick in and out, and if you accidentally get in that line, you can't go to the Monastery without getting in the back of that line! We saw people make that mistake. In summary, get there 30-60 minutes before they open, and make dang sure you're in the right line! All things the tour operator should tell you when buying the ticket!
