Certainly a place well worth visiting
We visited when staying quite locally. Actually we were a bit short on time so just went around the outside of the building and then took a walk through the lovely gardens. As is pretty typical the weather was rather damp at times but a lovely cooling break from the heat of elsewhere (one of the reasons I understand that the palace was built where it is). I would call the place 'magical'. Beautiful views (when the cloud allowed), wonderfully odd architecture almost trying to be rather Victorian in some ways-it had links of course. Well worth a trip when in and around Lisbon, itself a gem of a city. We use local Public Transport to access which was pretty decent too.

      Green walk is great
We bought an e-mountainbike with Ricardo and he was very open, honest and communicative during the whole proces. If I would like to do a tour, walk or mtb in Portugal, I would definitely book it with greenwalk. Enjoy!

Through Nature and Time in eBike
20 km of dirt roads on electric bikes in truly unique, millennial, places, with a guide who can talk about it in depth! From cork oak, to the vines; from a dolmen, to a cromlech via an ancient Roman road and a medieval bridge; from the sounds of the birds to the flora of the Alentejo hills... A memorable hike in the vicinity of Évora, ideal for nature lovers, sports enthusiasts and the inquisitive. After more than four hours, I wanted to do it again. It was a perfect day!

Perfect customized tour for a family with young children
I am currently pregnant and traveling with my two small children (4 and 2) so Lídia came to pick us up at 9am from our Lisbon hotel. This was great so we didn’t have to worry about navigating the trains with strollers. Lídia was very knowledgeable and added a lot of context to the places we visited. We hiked up to the Pena Palace and it was difficult for me since I am pregnant but if you’re in decent shape you’ll be fine (I made it). The views were beautiful and the castle was pretty cool. We stopped at one of the beaches on the way to Cabo da Roca and that was a lot of fun for the kids. The tour was a great way to see the area and Lidia was very kind to help with pushing one of the strollers for me. Be sure to buckle up in the Jeep since the police are very strict about making seat belt related stops.

      Amazing day in the countryside!
This bike tour was a highlight of my trip to Portugal! António is extremely knowledgeable and prepared. Communication both before and during the tour was excellent. Riding through the backcountry roads and learning about ancient civilizations was both culturally enlightening and a great physical activity. I’ve ridden mountain bikes but never an ebike. The bikes are very nice and the battery assist made me feel a bit like superwoman going up hills! Highly recommend this tour for something different that you’d never be able to do on your own. António felt like an old friend by the end of the day!

      Amazing tour
This was by far the best tour we did in Portugal. Our guide Lídia was amazing. She knew every hidden walkway and we saw so much more than we would have on our own. Greenwalk’s customized our tour and we saw three monuments and national park/western most point in continental Europe. Pena palace was beautiful, interesting and filled with other tourists. Quinta da Regaleira was fascinating. We saw both wells, walked though the garden and the palace. Every detail was specifically designed and one of the most interesting places I’ve visited. The Morrish Castle was absolutely mind blowing. It is defiantly a workout. There are a lot of stairs here so be prepared. We could see Pena palace I. The distance and also a nice view of the city. Lídia picked us up and dropped us off back at the train station. This tour is worth the price and I would return on another trip.

      Wonderful Sintra Tour
We had a wonderful time on our Sintra tour with João. It was myself and 3 young children and it was perfect that we could explore at our own pace and not worry about slowing down a big group. And it was so easy to get around in the jeep and not worry about transport. He was very knowledgeable of the area and had lots of fun facts that even the kids enjoyed. He really was a great guide! We loved going through the secret tunnels of Quinta de Regaleira and seeing the dinosaur footprints at the coast. Of course the beautiful Pena Palace was a highlight too. I’d absolutely recommend Greenwalk for families. It was a perfect day!

Garden tours of Regaleira and Pena Palace
Joao was our guide for our day trip to Sintra. He met us at the Sintra train station and after a discussion about what we wanted to see he suggested the best itinerary for the day. First up was the Quinta Regaleira. The palace was great but the real star was the estate grounds. Statues, fountains, flora, tunnels, and the Initiation Well made for an excellent walk all enhanced by Joao's expert knowledge. The tour of the countryside out to the coast was quite interesting but I'm glad our guide was driving not me. Then came the tour of the grounds of Pena Palace. We had the choice of a shuttle ride up to the palace or a long walk through the gardens. We chose the latter and were glad we did. The gardens are amazing. However, the walk was quite strenuous and tired us out. After spending time at the palace, Joao gallantly offered to send us down the shorter route while he headed off to retrieve the car and meet us at the gate. All in all a tiring but very enjoyable day done at our pace. I highly recommend this tour.

Amazing & Best Guide and Hike in Sintra
Lidia Sousa (Greenwalk) is an amazing guide and took my wife and I to places that we would have never seen on our own. We have spent 9 days in Portugal and this by far was the highlight of our trip. What makes Lidia special is she is passionate about her country, willing to share the beauty and super knowledgeable about the history and area. This tour exceeded our expectations and if you are in Sintra or the surrounding area I would highly recommending booking this tour and ask for Lidia. She is fantastic and you will not be disappointed.

Fantastic Private Tour - Excellent Local Guide
Lidia Sousa from Greenwalk spent the entire day with us taking us to all of the spots, explaining the history, pointing out the flora and fauna around the Palace and gardens. She was extremely knowledgeable and just great to be around. We would not have gotten as much out of the visit without her in depth knowledge. I would highly recommend to book with Greenwalk and ask for Lidia she is fantastic.

Perfect customized tour of Sintra-Cascais-CaboDaRoca! Awesome guide Lidia!!
We selected the 7 hour private tour and Antonio & Lidia were so nice to let us customize this tour of Sintra-Cascais-CaboDaRoca the way we liked and the pricing was great as well. It was simply perfect overall experience. Our tour guide Lidia was fantastic, very knowledgeable about the area and attractions, friendly and we felt as if we went on the jeep tour with someone we knew for a long time - so lovely was Lidia and my family simply loved the conversations we had with her along the way. Lidia picked us up at our hotel in Lisbon promptly in the morning. We visited Pena Palace, Moorish Castle and Regaleira in Sintra plus Adraga beach, Cabo Da Roca and Boca do Inferno in Cascais. We wanted to buy some tiles from Portugal for our kitchen backsplash and Lidia took us to a nice local tile store in Sintra which had the pattern we liked and purchased. Also, Lidia was so nice to stop for 30 mins at a local farmers market along the way from Sintra to Cabo Da Roca for us to taste local fruits, jam and home-made bread. Strawberries we had there was the tastiest ever and they were so fresh and juicy. To cover our customized tour and on-the-fly addition of local farmers market experience, it took an additional hour or so over the planned tour duration. Lidia was very accommodating and wonderful to allow us to enjoy the day more with a nice smile on her face even though it was a very long day for her from early in the morning pickup to late evening drop off at our hotel in Lisbon and then for her get back to Sintra. We are very thankful to Lidia for this amazing experience of Sintra monuments and Sintra-Cascais area attractions. Great memories and experience! I highly recommend this private tour and especially Lidia as the tour guide.

      Wonderful tour of Sintra
I cannot say enough good things about our day in Sintra and the visit to the coast. Lidia was our guide, and it was a magical day. There were just two of us in our group, and it was so amazing to have Lidia all to ourselves. We were able to customize the tour so that we saw what we want. We met Lidia at the train station and then she drove us to Sintra where we walked up to Quinta da Regaleira. What a wonderful and mystical place, especially the gardens, and Lidia gave us info that we wouldn't have had access to otherwise. Then we drove over the coast to see a couple of beaches along with a stop at the weekend farmer's market. Then off to Cabo de Roca, the westernmost point of Europe. We went back to Sintra and drove up the Pena Palace gardens. We meandered through the gardens as we climbed up to the beautiful palace. No visit inside was necessary, but the views from up there are amazing. I did a great deal of research before this trip, but no tour seemed like it would meet our needs until I found this one. Many people say that Sintra is easy to visit on your own (easy train ride from Lisbon plus bus to sites), but I am positive that we got so much more from our day with Lidia than we would have on our own. Thank you, Lidia, and Greenwalk Tour! (PS Antonio answered my last minute emails right away and I appreciate how attentive he was to making sure we could schedule this.)

Yesterday we took an amazing tour with Joao of Greenwalks. First of all his English was very impressive. Going through every sights with him was so informative. He is a must when coming to Sintra. He is a native so there isn’t anything he doesn’t know about the area. We couldn’t never of done it without him! You need to book early he is becoming very popular.

João was a well informed, personable guide and we thoroughly enjoyed the vigorous hike to see two of Sintra’s primary attractions on a lovely autumn day.

We didn't realize how much we would have missed without João. His English is better than any guide we'd met yet in Portugal and his knowledge of the area was phenomenal.
