        West side tour
Marco was amazing. He gave us a lot of information in both English and French. He made a lot of jokes throughout the trip. He also made sure we always had access to facilities such as restaurants and bathrooms. The west tour itself was very complete, we stopped at all interesting towns like Cabo Girão, Porto Moniz, and São Vicente, and he also stopped to show local plants and animals.

Always go for the East tour.
When you have a guide who came from Belgium and settled in Madera for love, you know things are going to be different. Our guide was informative, funny and with a depth of knowledge where his specialist subject on Mastermind would be Madera, only challenged by his knowledge of the flora and fauna. An excellent day, excellent views, worth every cent.

        A good day out.
A good day out. It was a good way of finding out more about the island in general - how it manages financially etc. We were slightly ahead of time so had 15 or more minutes more in the swimming area - it would have been tight otherwise (as we sat and had lunch at a restaurant) to squeeze in a swim. I really enjoyed the swimming. Plenty of stops to stretch the legs and take in the beautiful scenery (although 2 German ladies at the back of the bus didn’t realise my daughter can understand the language, they weren’t impressed at stopping so much as they classed it as ‘pointless and boring!’) Glad we did it now and very reasonably priced for a day out. Bruno was the guide - clever using 2 languages and driving safely on those roads.

A Feast for the Eyes in the East
Another great trip from Lido Tours. Friendly & Informative Driver/Guide Marco made sure our trip was perfect from start to finish. We have visited Madeira for many years but have never been East. Some reviews of this tour have been less than praiseworthy but I cannot say why as this trip had everything you could wish for on a Nature tour. Starting from some magnificent high peaks (Picos) and lush beautiful river valleys and onto panoramic coastal views stretching into the wide blue yonder. The picturesque village of Santana was a delight with its quaint triangular houses and neat & orderly streets with views out to the sea. We can only thank the guys at Lido for another great trip and we are only sorry we never ventured East sooner. Take the trip you will not be disappointed!

Worth a go for the views alone.
The drivers local knowledge was the big win, he knew all the vantage points and made an enjoyable day. Only let down was the mini bus, a bit too mini and lacking ventilation.

        A great day out!
It was a lovely tour. Bruno was a great guide and driver. He was very personable, humorous and professional, with good regard for safety and his clients. The tour gave a great insight into this part of the island and I enjoyed all the stops and sights we visited and the information he provided. A great day out and good value.

        Great day out
Really enjoyed this full day tour, driver was great and very knowledgeable. Small bus was definitely helpful on the very mountainous roads. If you only do one tour on this beautiful island make it this one

Charlotte, our guide She was like a lion prowling around a herd of Wildebeest. Constantly looking for the weakest in the herd! Not to kill! But to give them her attention and make sure they were ok. She was very good at her job Thank you Charlotte

Great way to start your trip
Went on this tour our first full day in Madeira. A great way to get your bearings and a well paced tour with time for coffee and lunch stops. Tour guide João was very good, informative but not non-stop which would be too much on an all day tour. Highly recommend booking early in your trip.

        Outstanding
The East End tour of Madeira with Lido Tours was the clear highlight of our trip to Azores and Madeira. The scenery was awesome at each stop, our tour guide was terrific, and the van was super comfortable. We told several travelers we met that we highly recommend they jump on this tour before going home.

        Half-day = in realtiy 2 hours walking
Walk itself was very beautiful, landcapes amazaing, but it was somewhat short. It is represented as a half-day tour, but walking was only 1,5 to2 hours, rest was spent on pick-up, drop-off and more than half an hour of 'coffee break', this was too long. We did get some short explanations on plants, flowers and animals, but all in all this tour is too expensive for what you get. You can easily do the walk yourself, it is not difficult to follow the levada

        Amazing Day Out
Awesome day, whistlestop tour of the western part of the island. It was our first time here and wanted to explore without getting a car; buses don't go into the mountains either so wanted a organised trip. Easy to find on Tripadvisor, easy to organise and then got a WhatsApp message with pick up details - simple! The tour itself it was great fun and really insightful, very much enjoyed Bruno switching between English and German seamlessly for everyone on board. I wish we'd taken our swimming gear for Porto Moniz, as the pools really aren't sold in writing! Would highly recommend, thanks for a great day!

Really good afternoon out. Weather was drizzly but we still managed to see good views of the valley from the viewpoint and once we descended into the village the weather improved and we had plenty of time to explore. The a short stop off at the fishing village at the coast.
Marco was very punctual and we felt very safe driving along some steep windy roads.
Good value for money and can only recommend.

A great way to see the magnificent views of Funchal; the drive from Funchal was right out of a movie....so many zig zags with a steep valley. Drivers must have nerves of steel; the view at the top of Nun’s Valley is truly amazing and worth the trip...highly recommend.
Unfortunately our tour driver was disinterested and failed to provide any commentary on the drive.

We were looking forward to another informative tour of Madiera after completing the 2-day tour prior. This tour mainly consisted of a short stop at the top of the mountains looking down into the small village (valley of the nuns) and followed by a stop in the small village. There was a church and a cafe for us to look around. During the tour little history or detail was provided on how the village was started and background of those who remain. There was also no direction of where to go once we arrived in the village or at the fisherman's village.

Bar some of the nice views, this trip felt a bit of a tourist trap with a very loose backstory consisting of a group of nuns once occupied the area for a short period of time and left very little history showing why they settled there, how they lived or why they left.

The driver was friendly throughout the tour although I would recommend the other tours of maderia and only book this if you have nothing to for half a day or really want to see a small village where nuns may have lived for a bit, one upon a time.

This half-day tour consisted of a stop at a stunning viewpoint for half an hour (walking up steps required) and a further stop in the beautiful village of Valley of the Nuns, where there was enough time to sample the local chestnut delicacies and have a drink. We then went down to the pretty fishing of Camara dos Lobos where we had a stroll before heading down to Funchal. We felt we'd experienced a lot in a single afternoon. The driver of our minibus pulled over several times to explain landmarks and points of interest. The roads were quite hair-raising but I had confidence in the driver. Excellent value for money.

I did this tour on my second day on the Island to get a first impression. Lido Tours seems a wel organized company. The booking proces is easy and they respond to your emails. The guides and drivers are nice and professional. On this trip we had a driver/guide named Nuno who was a very nice man and drove well.
We had enough stops and walks with good views and time to get a coffee or icecream.

A fantastic tour, quite quick with only a little walking but a good way to start a holiday in Madeira. Roberto our guide was very knowledgeable and as we made our way to the valley pointed out things of interest and gave a good overview of the history of the island. I recommend walking the coast when the tour finishes in Camara de Lobos if your hotel isn’t too far.

It was easy to book the tour and directions were clear. We enjoyed the spectacular views of Nun's Valley on a sunny day. Marco was a careful driver and a fund of interesting information. The length of time at each stop was just right. The tour was good value. Only downside as others have said is that if sitting at the back of the 7? seater vehicle, views while travelling would be restricted.

On previous visits, we had done trips with Tui but decided to try a local company this time, and we were not disappointed. There were only seven people on the minibus and Roberto, our driver/guide, gave an interesting commentary in Portuguese and in English as we drove along. It was a bit of a walk up to the viewpoint over The Valley of the Nuns but worth it for a view, it was very busy in The Valley itself. We ended up spending some time in Cámara dos Lobos, which was pleasant. An enjoyable and informative half day.

We went on the local bus and it was on €6 each. The journey is quite hair raising as the bus driver drove quickly round the steep hair pin bends but it was a memorable trip with fabulous views. Nuns Valley is a lovely little village with nice shops and restaurants.

We liked the tour, enjoyed our day and all places we visited. Our driver was also OK and it was only few of us that day so minibus was also not cramped and nice to travel with. Only thing we did not like was the very tight schedule – and yes, we get it but at the same time we felt like we did not experience the places properly as we were constantly rushing and checking the clocks, so we get back to the bus on time. Stops needs to be longer, 30 minutes for Camara De Lobos is not enough, add at least 15 on top / 30 if possible so people can enjoy it properly.
