Go West Trip March 2025 Not really impressed with this trip. Organisation, communication and timings all good and no issues. Trip completely spoilt by a one passenger who spent the whole day trip talking to the driver whilst we were on the tour. Not the drivers/guide fault but he could have stopped this earlier instead he let it dominate the whole day. We did not want to hear hours of endless chat when we wanted to hear the guide and concentrate on what we were seeing. We were desperate for the tour to end! Separately, the tour after the lunch stop at Porto Moniz was not that interesting and seemed hurried.

This was our fourth tour with Happy Tours, having done three on a previous visit to Madeira. A very enjoyable experience as always, even though the weather wasn’t great!

The driver / guide spent too much time telling the passengers how hard his job is, how well he does it. He even started the trip by telling us how bad English drivers are when driving rental cars whilst on holiday.

An excellent tour and very good value for money. The Driver (Louis?) Was knowledgeable and entertaining. Plent of time was given at each location. A great day out😊

Highly recommend this tour and company. Our driver, Tino, was great and highly informative. Really good value overall and more intimate than the big bus tour alternatives.

Great afternoon with Luis the driver/guide. He was extremely helpful and very knowledgeable about the Island. Gave us plenty of time at our stops. Very comfortable mini-bus too.

Excellent trip from start to finish. Collection from hotel on time. Itinerary explained. Good pace, everyone looked after. Excellent scenery, well worth it. Quite busy even in February, some narrow paths which I expect will be clogged in peak season.

Luis our guide was so polite and funny. We had a slight drizzle which actually enhanced the beautiful views with rainbows. Could not have been more delightful.

My wife & I used Happy Tours Madeira for the west & east Tours of Madeira. The west tour was superb with excellent commentary from the driver in equal amounts of French & English. Unfortunately thesame cannot be said for Louis on the east tour. There were more French speaking visitors on the tour & it became evident very early on in the tour that they would receive preferential treatment regarding information in French. On several occasions he spoke in French for a couple of minutes but did not impart that information in English. He admitted that on a previous tour it was reversed with more English commentary than French because more English speakers on the tour. He apologised twice for speaking more French than English. I assume that we both paid 40 euros each & were entitled to the same service. Sadly not the case with us. I complained to the manager of Happy Tours Madeira, however despite this he sided with the driver. I don't think he asked him if he admitted that he had made an error of judgement regarding the biased French commentary. Be very careful if you're considering booking a tour with Happy Tours Madeira.

We have had two tours so far with Happy Tours and two more to go! On both tours (East and Sunday Market) we have been lucky to have had Luis (Junior) as our guide. Friendly, funny and knowledgeable with excellent customer service skills made the excursions a delight. Thanks Luis! Hope to see you again.

A really great day out. We were picked up very close to where we were staying. Our minibus was very comfortable shared with 6 other passengers. Our driver was incredibly knowledgeable about all aspects of Madeiran life culture, history and nature. All the stops were fully explained as to where to go and what to see, and we arrived back on time feeling we had really seen some great places we wouldn't have otherwise experienced. Highly rated.

We went on the Go West Island tour with Luis (senior) last week and we absolutely loved it! Madeira is a much better and more scenic island than we expected. Luis was a brilliant tour guide and driver, so friendly, informative and knowledgeable. We even had a chance to put his first aid skills to the test when I fell down the stairs at Cabo Girão and hurt my knee. He did a great job bandaging me up and we managed to get some ice from a nearby coffee shop, so I could carry on with the tour. There were toilets and facilities at almost every stop, which was a real bonus. I would definitely recommend Madeira Happy Tours and we'll definitely book with them again when we come back to the island in the future.
