This is the second time we have taken this jeep safari tour and enjoyed it just as much the second time. Our driver was knowledgeable and kept the tour running on time. He ordered the coffee for us at the coffee break stop, as he knew the language difficulties. I tried the famous fruit drink, which has rum in it, and was suitably dropped under the table for a while. Delicious, though.

Edgar was friendly and professional. From Picking us up at the port, sipping wine, explaining everything about his beautiful island, 4wheel driving, site seeing, you name it, he delivered all extremely well! Thank you, Edgar, for a memorable day on Madeira!

Amazing hike, albeit not one for the faint-hearted! LOTS of steps! Upmountain cannot be faulted. Nico was delighted to offer a totally personalised walk for just 2 people, with transport to and from hotel. All smoothly booked online from UK. Our driver and guide for the day was David. He was great. Friendly, knowledgable, polite, always alert to our safety. Scenery was magnificent. Whole Experience was exceptional. From personal experience of previous visits to the Island, infinitely better than the mass "touristy" group walks offered by the bigger operators. Worth every bit of e. 285 cost for the day. So pleased we stumbled upon Upmountain when searching online from UK, with all other companies approached seemingly totally disinterested in meeting our requirements.

My friends and I had a wonderful day with our tour guide Filipe. He was knowledgeable, kind, and very fun to spend a day with exploring the beautiful island. We loved all the stops we went to, each one better than the last. Communication and booking ahead of time was straightforward. Would definitely recommend UpMountain Madeira for a tour!

We had the absolute BEST experience with UpMountain Madeira— their crew has been FUN, flexible, and so knowledgeable. They have taken us all over on multiple excursions since we have been here this week. HIGHLY recommend David for all the hikes and Diego for the jeep tour. We did 25 fountains at the end of the week and we did a full day off road tour another day.

Excellent off-road safari experience to west/north of Madeira. Standing in an open roof army jeep going through narrow streets of little villages and wild forests up in the mountains was an unforgettable experience. Tobias was excellent guide and driver!

We had an absolutely fantastic time with David on this guided hike. We only ended up doing it because we tried to book the guided walking route PR1 Vereda do Areeiro through Viator with Up Mountain, and had the booking rejected. We initially couldn’t understand why, but booked a self-guided walk on that route (just transport to/from the walk). David was then kind enough to reach out later via WhatsApp, completely unprompted, to explain that the PR1 route was closed and any booking for it would result in disappointment! He offered us this alternative and we were delighted to accept, and so glad we did, cancelling our other booking, and he was very accommodating re the only date we could do, running the hike for just four of us even though there would normally be 8. The hike was stunningly beautiful, David was great company and very knowledgeable, and we got to see a beautiful sunrise with stunning weather; the landscape was so dramatic I’m sure it would be beautiful in most weathers! We got a great swim at the end too. David even took us for a “proper” Poncha local drink at a local place he knew on the way home, as we were assured that the one we had in our hotel would not have been a true taste of this drink! A wonderful trip we can highly recommend to anyone with Up Mountain, and if you’re lucky, with David!

Amazing hike, stunning views, and David was a brilliant guide with lots of interesting insight. Definitely worth doing at sunrise to beat the crowds!

Great half day trip with knowledgeable guide with great sense of humour. The only way to see Maderia in a jeep! Cannot rate these guys enough. Would recommend to anyone with a short amount of time

We were in Madeira on a cruise and did a half day jeep tour with Up Mountain Madeira. Our ship's schedule was changed at the last minute and Nico from Up Mountain Madeira was very accommodating with rescheduling our tour. Tiago, our great guide, picked us up at the port and took us to a few beautiful places on the island like the Cabo Girao skywalk and also did some off-roading in an amazing forest. We really enjoyed our day. Thank you!

A really lovely experience combining a visit to Camara de Lobos and then off road up into the mountain first to see the vineyards of Henrique and Henrique. Finishing with a trip to ‘The View’ the aptly named roadside cafe where they served superb snacks at very reasonable cost. The whole trip had been changed from the original due to the recent forest fires but we weren’t disappointed. Many thanks for a great trip

Had a half day 4x4 tour with John our tour guide, who was very informative, not only pointing out local information but informative about Madeira generally. He told us about the local produce in peoples gardens and showed us some brilliant scenic view points. We stopped off for local Ponca (very potent)at a roadside cafe, then up 4x4 ing in the forest. We did a 4x4 tour of the east with Up Mountain Madeira and it was amazing! Our guide and driver, Diogo, was fantastic - such a nice guy and gave us loads of interesting information as well as taking us to places we would never have found ourselves. The off-roading was so much fun too! Highly recommend this company!

We had booked to walk PR1 but unfortunately the route was closed due to the wildfires. We were offered a refund on our booking if we wanted but were very keen to hike whilst on Madeira. Nico offered us an alternative walk which was Larano - edge of paradise hike between Machico and Porto da Cruz and we were not disappointed. The hike was really beautiful and we were well guided by Benni who had knowledge of the island, landmarks, fruit, flowers and the local people of the area. It has been a pleasure to deal with Up Mountain Madeira from start to finish and we would certainly recommend them for any hikes on Madeira. Thank you very much!! Matt and Emma.
